It occurs to me this is like a preview for Breaking Dawn. Vamp Bella at her best, right? Because these are definitely pictures of Bella and Edward.

That is exactly what I thought. Everyone said these were gonna be pics of R/K not B/E, but I totally get the B/E vibe. ...maybe because Kristen isn't in her natural hair?

I do love them Rob/Kristen and Edward/Bella. I really don't care, but...

Kristen's make-up is beautiful, she looks very old-Hollywood and Rob is clean-shaven, as he always is for Edward so I guess that's why it was my first thought.

They look really good regardless. Great pictures. I love them all. Rather Rob and Kristen hooked up or not they do have amazing chemistry in front of any camera.

A few things caught my attention. The number of little things SM throws in to remind us just how much Bella is still broken. Truly, when you look at it closely, Jacob never really had a chance. Everything surrounding Bella reminds her of Edward – even things that Jacob does. His comment that bears might make an exception because she looks like she'd be tasty… her riding on the motorbike and remembering Edward running her through the forest… Jacob being able to hold her hand when she gets stitches… and of course, the hallucinations.

How could Jake possibly compete with all of that?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he’s not a nice guy, and that he doesn’t deserve happiness – it’s just that, re-reading it this time more slowly, I see just what he was up against in trying to win Bella’s heart – and it’s a lot.

Things I love in this chapter: The description of Bella`s hallucination - the clarity of Edward's voice. Jacob taking care of her when she wipes the first time. The whole “you’re sort of beautiful” conversation is funny, as are a few other parts...

Exactly, right. It's like, Jake is brilliant and they would have been brilliant together. Only if Edward didn't already have Bella's heart. But he does.

Finally someone who shares my views. I completely 100% agree with you about this. Try as he did, jacob never had a chance against Edward. I just dont like the way Bella lead him on. I'm not a fan of jacob personally I'M TEAM EDWARD ALL THE WAY !!!!!.He is nice and deserves to be happy as you stated but, he just kept at it, even though he knew he didnt imprint on her, so I dont know why he kept trying. I also didnt like the way he acted towards Edward, when Edward was always overly nice to him.

I didn't bring up Jacob's persistence in later chapters, because I'm trying to keep it to each individual chapter, or I'd write novels. :D
I have to disagree with you on one thing, however, Edward, was NOT always overly nice to him. I don't think that is fair to say in the least. Jacob was fighting for what he loved, and I can't hold that against him. I don't necessarily appreciate all of the tactics he may have used, but Edward was right in it with him when it came to that. I'm Team Edward, but I can be fair - the two of them together had NO love lost between them. A begrudging respect for things done, yes. A recognition of Bella's feelings for both of them, and an attempt to be civil? Yes. Overly polite? HALE no!
Anyway, just my humble opinion. ;)

As you stated that is your opinion, of which you're entitled too. It is understood that we are talking about these chapters by themselves, but I'm expressing my opinion. I can be fair as well, but as stated before I don't really care for jacob. Yes there wouldnt be a saga without him, which is plainly obvious and understood. But what Edward caused by Jacob hearing lead to everything being eventually worked out for all of them.

Bella was able to honestly know her own feelings and make her decision, without being in denial about loving Jacob, too.

Edward and Bella were able to start their engagement and their marriage without Bella not being honest with herself about her feelings for Jacob.

Jacob was able to have some closure regarding his relationship with Bella. (though she did continue to draw him back in, but it was really Nessie).

And finally, they all three got their happiness,
That is the only reason I am able to stand Jacob's or Bella's or Edward's heartache. It hurts me so much to see any of them suffer, but especially Jacob, because he has to suffer so long without seeing any light at the end of the tunnel.

I can stand it, though, knowing that it all works out in the end.
Some people hate the Nessie/Jacob thing, but I couldn't have stood it for him to never find his happiness, too. I also couldn't stand it if he and Bella were truly lost to each other.

Now about THIS chapter...
It is so sad that Bella is soo desperate to hear Edward that she is willing to risk hurting herself.
I do love that she is starting to see how beautiful Jake really is, though. She is starting to see him as more as her "younger friend", and he is so good to her.
But like he says, he can't compete with the Eclipse that is Edward. Bella and Edward are MORE than soulmates. They are each other's addiciton. One can't live without the other.

I love Edward and I don't think that the story would have been properly told if she didn't end up with him, but Come On People! Jacob, no matter what she was going though was always there for her. Give credit where credit is due! He, I believe, has to suffer so much, and yet, because her wants Bella to be safe and happy he is always there.

With that said I conclude that it was not Jacob's fault he fell in love with her, she came to Him when she needed someone, and he was there. He didn't know that Edward would be back. And he was totally justified in playing his stupid kiddie games with Edward because he had to watch her suffer in his absence, and it took HIM all that time to repair her. However, Bella's heart belongs to Edward and Edward also was justified in letting him know that's the way it was.

Like minds think alike! lol...
I totally do NOT understand how people can expect a 16 y.o. boy to just drop his feelings for a girl, just because the "old boyfriend" (in more ways than one, lol!) comes back. Jacob cannot just turn his feelings off and on, ESPECIALLY since he's a teenager, and also because he KNOWS that Bella DOES have feelings for him too, she is just in denial.
But besides Jake's own feelings, he feels he MUST do whatever possible to stop Bella from becoming a "cold monster". He KNOWS what a predatory vampire is, and that the Cullens are the extremely rare exception. He KNOWS that she will probably not be able to control herself as a newborn.
And most importantly, he wants to save her human life and her immortal soul. Sure, we all believe and hope that the Cullens souls are not lost, but the Wolf Pack are vampires natural enemies and have a lot of doubts about that. Jake (and Edward!) don't want her to lose her human life OR her soul, so Jacob is doing EVERYTHING in his power to prevent that. If I were in his shoes, I would do the same for my loved ones.
Thanks to SM, Jake's heartache was healed and his (and Edward's) worries were for naught. But Jacob did not know that. He did what he HAD to do.
Bella and Edward FOREVER, but she couldn't lose Jacob forever either.

yep, poor Jake. Never had a chance. Bella's heart belongs to one man alone. Jake is a nice guy and I really do like him, but he's just not meant for Bella.

I loved this chapter, the whole incident with the bikes was great, Bella finding the source to her Edward visions, and especially when Bella kicks down on the wrong brake, the fact that Jacob had blatantly told her not to use it and the fact that she still used it when she panicked just cracks me up every time. Jacob is still growing on me and I know there are going to be a lot of people who are going to hate me for this but if he keeps growing on me at this rate I might just have to switch teams.

I agree... but it reminds me of the first time I drove an automatic... I was used to driving a standard & using the left foot for the clutch... my dad yelled at me because I was two-footing the automatic. Old habits die hard, and instincts don't always remember what you've just been taught... but yeah, I laugh at it, too! LOL

I haven't re-read this chapter yet. I'm so sidetracked by HB Robsten. I can't focus on anything right now.

Ok, so if you aren't still on Bella's boat, this chapter is definitely where you jumped ship. Bella is no longer borderline crazy, she's an almost full fledged lunatic. (j/k overexaggerated just a bit) She finally discovers the "recipe" for hallucinations, danger + adrenaline + stupidity. I love on pg. 185 just after she stalled the bike... I was anxious to try again right away. Being reckless was paying off better than I'd thought. Forget cheating. Maybe I'd found a way to generate the hallucinations -- that was much more important.

Another fave of mine here are the last lines of the chapter when they're just finishing their first day of meadow searching. "Bears don't want to eat people. We don't taste that good." He grinned at me in the dark cab. "Of course, you might be an exception. I bet you'd taste good."
"Thanks so much," I said, looking away. He wasn't the first person to tell me that.
On a side not I'm glad that Jake was not with her when she initially finds the meadow. IT would have broken Jakes heart to see Bella like that.

OOOOOHHHH!!! Yes! and speaking of bears hehe! One of my favorite parts in the book was They were leaving Jakes house and he was Teasing her about the bear eating her, I crack up every time I read the part when she tells him she only has to be faster than him.

Yep. I cried the first time I read that Jacob was avoiding her post-transformation. I thought, "No!. Bella has been through so much already. You know that Jacob! Why would you put her through this again!"

Jacob was such a good friend. I'm happy he became Edward's friend, too. My second favorite Edward line in Breaking Dawn? "Goodbye Jacob, my friend...my son." No, really! I found it so touching after all they had been through.

I dont have kids but I spend most of my week days with my 1 year old nephew. He's Nessie sized as well and I know I'd do anything on this earth to protect him.

Okay, I know this is totally off the wall, but every time I read that they're at Jacob's house, I see the visual in my head as I'm reading the story and I can't help but think it must be a pig-sty. Don't get me wrong - I loves me some Jacob - I'm totes Team Jacob, but.....how does Billy clean thoroughly if he's in a wheelchair? Mopping would take all day. Plus let's face it, he's a man and most of them (I know, not all) can't clean worth a damn. And Jake is a teenage boy and they don't even like to bathe. So....I just had to know, am I the only one who's ever had this thought? Do you think maybe Sue Clearwater comes over and mops and cleans the toilets once in a while? I don't think Billy can afford a cleaning woman? I'm sorry, I just had to throw it out there.

ROFL! Yeah, two guys and no women, it probs is a bit of a pigsty. My money would be on Emily coming around to clean though. She just strikes me as that sort of charecter. All caring for the community.

I cheated yesterday and read all the way to the chapter where Alice and Bella run off to Italy. =D It always breaks my heart when Laurent tells Bella that she obviously didn't mean much to Edward since he left her there unprotected. That was low! =(

I love this chapter for 4 reasons
1st: Bella hears Edward's voice again, and I love that he growles...I'm really looking forward to hearing that in the movie
2nd: I love that Jacob is so worried about her when she fell off her bike
3rd: Bella's says ''Did you know, you're sort of beautiful''. When I read that I always think: well yeah..that was sort of obvious from the beginning...
4th: Jacob held her hand in the ER, which is something Edward couldn't have done so I praise Jake for that

I loved this chapter but I love the next chapter even more so I'm looking forward to tomorrow :)

Ok, lonmg time no see guys. I've been destracted by all the wonderful FF out there. I also chose to read NM again before the film comes out of my own accord. I came to have a peek at what was being posted over on this wonderful site and came across this post. Funnily enough the last chapter I read was chapter 8.

I do like this chapter, I like how Bella wants to go riding her bike again even though her head is bleeding all over the place. How she imagines herself covered in paint to stop the nausea. Brilliant.

I'm so gonna read chapter 9 2moz so I can take part in the read-athon count down till 20th Nov.

So I jumped the gun and had to remove this post yesterday, perhaps I am trying to move ahead too fast - like the first time I read the book. :) I have re-read it a couples of times since then as Stephanie suggested.

As I began to loosen my grip, I was shocked to be interrupted by a voice that did not belong to the boy standing next to me.
“This is reckless and childish and idiotic, Bella, “ the velvet voice fumed.
“Oh!” I gasped, and my hand fell off the clutch. The bike bucked underneath me, yanking me forward and then collapsing to the ground half on top of me. The growling engine choked to a stop.
“Bella?” Jacob jerked the heavy bike off me with ease. “Are you hurt?”
But I wasn’t listening.
“I told you so,” the perfect voice murmured, crystal clear.

Okay here we go......

As you can see Jake is really helping her along now. But the nightmare completely ends either when she sees Edward in Volterra or when he tells her he's not going to leave her. I thinks it's both, in a weird way.

I just wanna say something....I am really THANKFUL for ALL of you who comment on this message board.... it might seema little weird but i seriously dont have ANY friends that LOVE the Saga just as i do...so i really feel alone at times.... Like seriously NONE of my friends even like it or have read it.... and they dont wan to hear about it so i pretty much just talk to myself....

everyday i go to work and go oh this site and just read... then i go home and read somemore...then when i'm in class i wish my laptop was on so i can keep reading the conversations that go on here.... i just wish i couldnt have a big TWILIGHT PARTY and everyone that loves this can just get together and just talk and have a good time....

well i just wanted to say i really enjoy coming here and i SO CANNOT WAIT TILL NOVEMBER 20TH!!!!!!

P.S New MOON is my FAVORITE Book in the Saga!!!!

It gets really annoying when my friends and family hate listening to me talk about something i like...I mean can't they at least be supportive or pretend to like it..Definitely hurts my heart!! :/

I mean if i havn't found this site..OMG i would have died a longggg time ago...feeling all alone and wierd cuz im the only one who really likes twilight around where i live!..Ughh..but now i can laugh and get excited with other twilighters and share each others oppinions and dabate bout stuff...Its FUN!lol thanks to everyone here!! :)

I like this chapter... and I really like how that even though Bella is in pain she WANTS to hear Edward's voice.... and what I want to see in the movie is the hiking scene with her and Jake and also how Jake is driving Bella's truck and even though he is worried about Bella he goes along with her and how she wants to go back to change... not really an action packed chapter... but I REALLY want majority of this chapter in the movie!

I so feel you. I'm like the only person in my family, group of friends, at work... the list goes on and.. That love this saga. I'm soo addicted. This is my break from reality. I love it here on this board.

"As I began to loosen my grip, I was shocked to be interrupted by a voice that did not belong
to the boy standing next to me.
"This is reckless and childish and idiotic, Bella," the velvet voice fumed.
"Oh!" I gasped, and my hand fell off the clutch.
The bike bucked under me, yanking me forward and then collapsing to the ground half on
top of me. The growling engine choked to a stop." Oh Edward...

""Do you want to kill yourself, then? Is that what this is about?" the other voice spoke again,
his tone severe.
I smiled tightly–it was still working–and ignored the questions. Jacob wasn't going to let
anything serious happen to me.
"Go home to Charlie," the voice ordered. The sheer beauty of it amazed me. I couldn't allow
my memory to lose it, no matter the price.
"Ease off slowly," Jacob encouraged me.
"I will," I said. It bothered me a bit when I realized I was answering both of them.
The voice in my head growled against the roar of the motorcycle.
Trying to focus this time, to not let the voice startle me again, I relaxed my hand by tiny
degrees. Suddenly, the gear caught and wrenched me forward.
And I was flying.
There was wind that wasn't there before, blowing my skin against my skull and flinging my
hair back behind me with enough force that it felt like someone was tugging on it. I'd left my
stomach back at the starting point; the adrenaline coursed through my body, tingling in my
veins. The trees raced past me, blurring into a wall of green.
But this was only first gear. My foot itched toward the gearshift as I twisted for more gas.
"No, Bella!" the angry, honey-sweet voice ordered in my ear. "Watch what you're doing!"
It distracted me enough from the speed to realize that the road was starting a slow curve to
the left, and I was still going straight. Jacob hadn't told me how to turn.
"Brakes, brakes," I muttered to myself, and I instinctively slammed down with my right foot,
like I would in my truck.
The bike was suddenly unstable underneath me, shivering first to one side and then the other.
It was dragging me toward the green wall, and I was going too fast. I tried to turn the
handlebar the other direction, and the sudden shift of my weight pushed the bike toward the
ground, still spinning toward the trees.
The motorcycle landed on top of me again, roaring loudly, pulling me across the wet sand
until it hit something stationary. I couldn't see. My face was mashed into the moss. I tried to
lift my head, but there was something in the way.
I was dizzy and confused. It sounded like there were three things snarling–the bike over me,
the voice in my head, and something else…"
