Well, I've now seen New Moon twice in 24 hours and it is brilliant. We were lucky here in OZ to have it released on 19th Nov. I can't wait to hear everyones thoughts on the film...Chris W is a legend! Taylor was wonderful and Kristen has really grown into the role. Rob is just scrumptious. I'm going back to see it again and again.

In Monterrey MX we saw the movie, the premier was today12:01 am, Edward it´s a Greek God and Jacob a delicious chocolate for my eyes, deliciously hot; realy you need all your senses to live the experience like we did

His eyes were hard and black as flint. "Not that way. You're staying human."

I nodded slowly, and then turned to Emmett.
"Hell, yes!" He grinned. "We can find some other way to pick a fight with this Demetri."

"Thank you, Esme," I murmured as I turned toward Carlisle.
I was suddenly nervous, wishing I had asked for his vote first. I was sure that this was the
vote that mattered most, the vote that counted more than any majority.
Carlisle wasn't looking at me.
"Edward," he said.
"No," Edward growled. His jaw was strained tight, his lips curled back from his teeth.
"It's the only way that makes sense," Carlisle insisted. "You've chosen not to live without
her, and that doesn't leave me a choice."
Edward dropped my hand, shoving away from the table. He stalked out of the room, snarling
under his breath.
"I guess you know my vote." Carlisle sighed.
I was still staring after Edward. "Thanks," I mumbled.
An earsplitting crash echoed from the other room.
I flinched, and spoke quickly. "That's all I needed. Thank you. For wanting to keep me. I feel
exactly the same way about all of you, too." My voice was jagged with emotion by the end.

The problem with Bella staying human is that she loves Edward and as we find out in breaking Dawn she wants to be with him like any in love person would want to be. So the inevitable occurs when they are together and Bella has to die. So the only way for Bella to stay human is too not have sex with the one she loves and how realistic would that be, until she starts aging????!!!

I live in Puerto Rico and it came out today... the lines were sooooo full and large that the tickets for the first showing were sold out and that was just at a local theather! If I were Bella I would totally feel the same way about the age thing. is it just me or is anyone else concern about jacob?
let me explain! i am truly becoming worried that many people are still not going to understand jacob because of the body. so many ppl are making a big deal about taylor's new bod(i know i know its great trust me i love it as much as the next person). however, i feel ppl are missing what a truly great actor, passionate, devoted individual (even during the press tour everyone only cared about "beefing up he endured"). but i am slightly nervous people will miss the charisma, devotion, loyalty, passion, love, and hot headed traits of jacob bc everyone will be "OMG/OMJ/KJKJJDSKFD jacob's body blah blah ill be team jacob for the body" im like...gah i just want ppl to understand his actual personality! and some ppl in my sorority house last night was like "well, u are asking for too much..." IM ASKING YOU TO NOT BE SWALLOW...sorry..apparently i am. sorry for my rant i know its the best day ever! i just feel u girls regardless if u like jacob or not would understand. anyways im done im sorry!

It's okay! There will be the shallow devotees of our Jake BUT they're easy to pick out...their likes and dislikes are fleeting while ours are everlasting :D I'm trying to stay positive today so I'd rather them remark positively on his body instead of diss his acting ability. We've seen enough clips to know that Tay has the look, meaning the look in eyes for Jake. Who cares if some girls who don't "get it" focus on the obvious and who cares if a middle aged male critic doesn't appreciate (jealous *cough*) any of our guys in this movie and gives it a bad review? I don't! Us fans KNOW if they'll live up to it and I think we're pretty confident that they, especially Tay will.
So that is all that matters irunwithwolves...you, and Jake on big screen my dear. I hope you relish it by yourself and it lives up to all your expectations!

Unfortunately because of all the hype he's had to endure about "his transformation", that will probably what is focused on first - however hopefully as the movie plays on, or you see if for the 2nd/3rd time, Taylor's acting will be appreciated more.

Hi New Mooners This is my 1st time commenting although i visit every day and have loved reading all of your comments for the last 10months - i so don't want to spoil anything for you all but i am in Australia and saw the movie midnight 2 nights ago AHHHHH!! Is all i can say. i honestly think i held my breath for the whole 2 hours. It was gorgeous! Chris Weitz did an amazing job. The Wolf Pack, Volturi -everything was amazing. Rob was as hot as ever and Taylor really stepped up but i have to say that Kristen really rocked. As a huge fan I have seen twilight 14 times at the cinema and close to 60 times on dvd and i plan to see this one even more. i won't go into any details so as to let you all enjoy our beautiful New Moon story come to life

I have one worry though for anyone who hasn't read the book. Where is all the gorgeous dialogue between Edward and Bella. As in twilight, i worry that without reading the book you don't get an insight into the intenseness of the relationship. everything that comes out of that guys mouth is so romantic yet we don't get to see that on the screen. Poor Rob is left to try to portray all of these feelings without the help of Stephenie's beautiful conversations between the two of them. I know it would make the movie longer but i really think there needs to some time spent showing just how much they mean to each other and why they belong together eternally

Otherwise, I am so looking forward to reading what you all think of it whilst i get online to get tickets to see it again and again and again and again------when does Eclipse come out? LOL P.S I am a 45 yr old mum who am addicted to everything twilight including this site. Thank you so much

Eclipse supposed to come out 6/30/10.
Yeah, I feel the same way that a lot of special moments between Edward and Bella are left out (as well as with the others) which led to the characters in the movies not really being developed onscreen.
They should allow for a longer movie so that some of the beautiful words from the book could be included. I'm sure people are wondering if Chp 23 quote is in the movie - but don't say anything.

During the interviews in the last couple weeks not too many people would comment on BD. Even the screenwriter (whatshername) said she hasn't been approached yet? OMG I just saw the damn movie finally. I totally loved it. There were some bad parts but I dont think the cast is to blame for that. CGI could have been better at some parts, clothes of some sucked. But I enjoyed the bit of Victoria in it. She would have been great, what a shame. When the end came, I was like damnit! The ending just sucked.

The reviews that I have read are still mixed. And I have read a lot, probably over 30 by now. The main gist that I am getting is that non Twilight fans hate it and Twilight fans love it. Bottom line.

Everyone go see the movie for yourself and then judge, don't count on these people who firstly, do not adore the cast like we do and know them inside and out, and secondly, do not know the books inside out. They have no basis for their judgment which is mostly that it is a teen vampire/werewolf series with lots of melodrama and angst.

They tend to not do their homework which pisses me off. Be fair about the source material before entering in your tabloid-referenced opinion.

And, back to Lainey, she hated the RM trailer? WTF? This only further exemplifies why her opinion means SQUAT!!!

So true. It seems that people who don't know the saga, or even anything about vampire or werewolf lore, hate it but I've only seen one fan say they were disappointed but she was going to see it again anyway.
Some critics seem to expect Nosferatu in every vampire movie. I prefer originality. The point isn't what the characters are, it's how they deal with the things that are thrown at them. There are perfectly valid reasons for a lot of the things people complain about in the saga.
Something I wrote got criticised for a lack of realism a while ago and I was livid. It's about vampires, angels and demons; what the hell has realism got to do with it?! And the person who criticised the first 3 chapters didn't stick with it to find out WHY it started the way it did. No one else thought there was a lack of realism or any plot holes. It's amazing how people can twist things to suit their preconcieved notions. That's why I feel very annoyed when Stephenie Meyer gets criticism from people who know nothing about the books.
It feels good to get that off my chest. Rant over, promise!

Spectra, I don't recall anyone saying Bella's scent was especially appealing to all vampires - her blood sings to Edward alone. Alice thought she smelled good, but not the same thing. The books are totally enjoyable, just look at all us fans. But I do think this is a pretty major plot weakness.

Well, now that theres just a few hours left, and only one Epilogue to finish New Moon, i gotta say this was the time i enjoyed the most Reading NM the first time i did i just wasnt as trill as now obviouslu because of Edwards absence.

I wanna thank u all because thanks to u all ant to NM.org this was an amazing experience, and now that tomorrow we all finally have the chance to see NM, wow dude im so exited, i just cant believe after the las november, one year ago, since we knew the release date of NM IS FINALLY tomorrow, i cant express myself good enough.

I loved to share this with u guys ur the best!!!!!!!

I just saw New Moon! I was amazed to realize that it would come out on the 19th! in French speaking Switzerland. It's... got a different feel from Twilight (the movie)
More money in it and it shows in visual smoothness. Vampires are more the real thing. I found the wolves a bit disappointing, though. On the whole, it didn't quite reproduce the magic of Twilight. Still, I enjoyed it!

We have to give Edward credit, in that he takes Bella to speak to his family. He could have easily simply held her captive – we watch him do it in Eclipse, right?

I love her thoughts when he’s running: ‘The speed was exhilarating. A hundred times better than the motorcycle.’ Quite the change from her first experience running with him, and I like that she’s grown to love it. Their conversation as they travel is thoughtful; I like both how Edward asks for clarification from Bella when he doesn’t understand, and when Bella tells Edward her greatest fear.

‘“I’ll earn your trust back somehow, if it’s my final act.”
“I trust you, it’s me I don’t trust.”
“Explain that, please.”
“Well – I don’t trust myself to be… enough. To deserve you. There’s nothing about me that could hold you.”
“Your hold is permanent and unbreakable. Never doubt that. You never did tell me…”
“What?”
“What your greatest problem is.”
“I’ll give you one guess.”
“I’m worse than the Volturi. I guess I’ve earned that.”
“The worst the Volturi can do is kill me. You can leave me. The Volturi, Victoria… they’re nothing compared to that. Don’t. Don’t be sad.”
“If there was only some way to make you see that I can’t leave you. Time, I suppose, will be the way to convince you.”

I like that she is telling him exactly how she feels. If only they could have had this conversation way back at the beginning of the book! And then, Bella asks for her things back, and we discover that Edward had hidden them under her floorboards. I still really want to smack him for that – taking her things, her physical reminders, away from her. It really pissed me off that he did that to her….

But, one good thing is that it triggers the ultimate epiphany, which is just so crucial for Bella to understand. And thus, she explains the voice – her aural hallucinations…

‘“Well, about that… See, I found that… when I was doing something dangerous or stupid… I could remember you more clearly. I could remember how your voice sounded when you were angry. I could hear it, like you were standing right there next to me. Mostly I tried not to think about you, but this didn’t hurt so much – it was like you were protecting me again. Like you didn’t want me to be hurt.
And, well, I wonder if the reason I could hear you so clearly was because, underneath it all, I always knew that you hadn’t stopped loving me.”
“You… were… risking your life… to hear – ”
“Shh. Hold on a second. I think I’m having an epiphany here.”
I thought of that night in Port Angeles when I’d had my first delusion. I’d come up with two options. Insanity or wish fulfillment. I’d seen no third option.
But what if…
What if you sincerely believed something was true, but you were dead wrong? What if you were so stubbornly sure that you were right, that you wouldn’t even consider the truth? Would the truth be silenced, or would it try to break through?
Option three: Edward loved me. The bond forged between us was not one that could be broken by absence, distance, or time. And no matter how much more special or beautiful or brilliant or perfect than me he might be, he was as irreversibly altered as I was. As I would always belong to him, so would he always be mine.
Was that what I’d been trying to tell myself?
“Oh!”
“Bella?”
“Oh. Okay. I see.”
“Your epiphany?”
“You love me.”
“Truly, I do.”
He really did want me the way I wanted him – forever. It was only fear for my soul, for the human things he didn’t want to take from me, that made him so desperate to leave me mortal. Compared to the fear that he didn’t want me, this hurdle – my soul – seemed almost insignificant.
He took my face tightly between his cool hands and kissed me until I was so dizzy the forest was spinning.’

OK, does anyone else love that Edward is so much more physically demonstrative now? That’s two times that he’s kissed her silly in the same evening – going far beyond his set controls each time. Yay! And I love that Edward completely understands the voices, and is able to even joke about it. He realizes just how affected she was by his departure. And he recognizes that she carries the same feelings for him as he does for her.

Now we come to the family vote. Bella is very mature and business-like throughout this meeting, and I love her speech. She once again shows just how truly selfish she is:

‘“… If you don’t want me, then I’m not going to force myself on you, whether Alice is willing or not. … You all know what I want. And I’m sure you know what Edward thinks, too. I think the only fair way to decide is for everyone to have a vote. If you decide you don’t want me, then… I guess I’ll go back to Italy alone. I can’t have them coming here. Taking into account, then, that I won’t put any of you in danger either way, I want you to vote yes or no on the issue of me becoming a vampire.”’

Edward’s plan really is a long-stretch, in my humble opinion. Sure, he can take her and hide her… how many times would he be able to do that before the Volturi finally had enough and killed him off? If she is to remain human, what would this do to her? The older she got, the frailer she would become as he hauls her off to hide her yet once again. Yes, Demetri wouldn’t be able to find her. But he’d be able to find the other members of his family, and I most definitely wouldn’t put it past the Volturi to use the rest of the Cullens as “motivation” for Bella to be brought out of hiding…

I hated the fact that Edward hid her stuff. You cant take back what you gave someone he even took back his families gifts. I think Bella knew exactly what se was doing when she went to the Cullens. The if you dont want me thats fine Ill return on my own and dont want any of you to get hurt because of me. I know she meant it but at the same time she knew the Cullens wouldn't let her do that.

So many great parts in this chapter again:

- Bella finally realises that Edward trully loves her.

- Edward has also suffered a lot for his wrong choice.

„Surviving. You, at least made an effort. You got up in the morning, tried to be normal for Charlie, followed the pattern of your life. When I wasn´t actively tracking, I was ... totally useless. I couldn´t be around my family – I couldn´t be around anyone. I´m embarrassed to admit that I more or less curled up into a ball and let the misery have me.“

- My favourite parts of the vote:

I looked toward Edward. „Do you want me to join your family?“ „Not that way. You´re staying human.“

Rosalie´s words are important to understand her actions a bit better.
„No.“ „Let me explain,“ she pleaded. „I don´t mean that I have any aversion to you as a sister. It´s just that ... this is not the life I would have chosen for myself. I wish there had been someone there to vote no for me.“

- Being a parent myself , I sympathise with Charlie:

I didn´t know where you were or when-or if- you were coming back. Do you have any idea how ... how ...“ He couldn´t finish the sentence.

- But I don´t agree with him when he orders her to stay away from Edward. It is impossible to reason with someone who is in love and you can lose that person because of that. I don´t think there is anyone in love who would obey such an order and then the things can get even worse.

Aww thanks! Sorry i've been busy here at home. This comment isn't about Chap. 24, but something I really didn't get about the plot line involving the papercut scene. If Jasper couldn't be around a papercut, why was he going to school? Surely he ran across papercuts, scraped knees from gym class, etc. all the time - quite possibly almost daily. If Jasper didn't attack Bella, Edward wouldn't have left and the whole story would fall apart from there (if Edward stayed around, Bella and Jacob don't get close, Jacob doesn't meet Reneesmee to "imprint" on her, wolves don't back the Cullen's and the Volturri destroy them in Book 4). I enjoyed the books, don't get me wrong, but I'm seriously confused by that. As I said, it's pretty much the lynch pin to the plotline of the rest of the series. Anyone else wonder about that?

Read Midnight Sun...it kind of helps u c Alice role in keeping the human kiddies safe. It's on SM's website...

If U go to Stef meyers website she talks about a book she had been working on b4 New Moon.This book would have bypassed New Moon and Eclisp.In this book Edward never leaves she goes off to college and, their relationship continues in an adult way it's very steamy and not 4 young adults.They do still get married she does have Renesseme in this book Jacob ends up imprinting on Renesseme when Bella is visiting Charlie.So that storyline still has the wolkves involved in the Volturi fight.Laurant is there as well to defend Nessie along with the other Denali members and Victoria is the one that The rats out on them to the Voltori. Even though she knows the truth. That book will never be read by anyone other then her sister who she gave it to 4 her bday..

I believe it was mentioned by other vampires in the saga, perhaps even the Cullens (can't quite remember which ones) that Bella's blood scent really was unique and extremely appealing. So my theory, based on that fact, is he could handle paper cut's by regular folks, but they never encountered a human so extremely "appetizing".

I recon Alice would be able to see it before hand and get him away in time before he reacted, that's why he looks like he is in pain all the time.

I agree. i think when they were in school alice was probably checking beforehand. i remember in Midnight sun that she was doing that. i think that is the reason why she was not alerted to edward and the biology class incident with bella because she was focused on jasper. it would make sense since he was around a lot of humans. and also her blood was a little more appealing to him but not as much as it was to Edward.

yes actually when emmett and jasper got into the car. emmett said something about her blood having a nice flavor and when jasper got into the car it was appealing to him as well. edward got a little annoyed. it happened after blood typing when edward took bella home then he went to pick up his family from school. :)

I wish I had time to go through this whole chapter, but I don't have much time, so here are a few of my favorites...

Bella's epiphany - you silly girl, it took you long enough to realize what we all already knew! Of course he loves you!!

"If you decide you don't want me, then... I guess I'll go back to Italy alone. I can't have them coming here." Our selfless Bella, throwing herself towards death to protect those she loves - as if Edward or any of the Cullens would allow that.

I love Rosalie's explanation of her vote - even though I don't agree, I do see where she is coming from. This is really the first glimpse of her true feelings toward Bella. Nikki said this was her favorite scene to shoot (out of 2) - I can't wait to see it!

"It's the only way that makes sense," Carlisle insisted. "You've chosen not to live without her, and that doesn't leave me a choice." This sums up how I would have voted, given the chance. Really, what other choice is there? Bella and Edward are clearly meant to be together. Sure, if Edward could give up mortality and become human for Bella that would be the better option. But since that is not possible - Bella needs to become a vampire so she can truly be with Edward forever.

Ahh, the proposal. Absolutely love it. BETTER BE IN THE MOVIE MR!!

I wonder how bad that hurt Carlisle's feelings.....Do you think the rest of the family wants Bella to become a vampire b/c it will make it easier for them??? I feel like Edward and Rosalie are the only ones that see becoming a vampire as being the real end of life...So we know why Rosalie is so bitter....

I pray the proposal and the walk to the Cullen's before the vote are in the movie...I don't want it to end w/o that....

I know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight so I'm going to watch Twilight like five times to kill some time..and then I'm going to watch the New Moon trailer 5 times and after that I'll probably just start screaming since I'll have like 10 more hours to go...

You think you have it bad. I've been in agonizing pain for months just waiting for this day to come but I got my tickets for the first showing Saturday morning, hoping teenagers that would scream too much will be asleep and that I can possibly enjoy hearing the movie. Therefore I have like what....35 hrs to go. I secretly cry to myself!

The thing about Rosalie and Edward's attitudes to Bella becoming a vampire that annoys me is that they are looking at it from their own perspectives. Rose says she wishes someone had been there to vote no for her and Edward says he doesn't know if he's rather have died and that he thinks he's lost his soul.
They are missing the point here because Bella has a choice and she wants to be a vampire. By denying her that wish they are actually taking away from her something she really wants and something that ultimately is the right thing for her.

yes i agree. i understand edward and Rosalie. but ultimately it is bella's choice. edward is not really thinking. Like carlise said edward chose not to live without her. she will continue aging. he is not being realistic thinking that while he stays 17 physically bella ages.what happens when she is 30 40 50 60. I have no doubt he will continue loving her. but Bella will be miserable and will probably come to resent him for not changing her while she was still young . there is also the danger of her staying human while she is around edward. yes he has self control but her staying human is not practical. and i agree bella was born to be a vampire because it was her and edwards destiny to be soulmates. In breaking dawn after she became a vampire, she said she had found her true place in the universe.

I cracked up the first time I watched Twilight with my mum. At the end she was like, "He's not going to change her? He's going to let her get OLD?" She said it in the tone of a disgruntled teenager. My mum is 65. Brilliant.

Lol. I saw twilight before i read the book. i did not even know it was based on SM book. never heard of it. but at the end i said there has to be a part two. then i found out about the books and bought all four of them. :)

i totally believe it is the right thing for her... Carlisle is right... they chose to be together they have to both be vampires it doesn't work any other way....Bella staying human just doesn't work ... for me anyway...

I liked this chapter a lot because its the really the only time in all of the books that Edward somewhat loses his temper with Bella. I like that he is so passionate about not wanting her to be changed into a vampire that he lets himself get that mad at her. And whats even better....is that Bella doesn't get rattled in the least.. she just keeps on talkin. Love it!

Oh...and one other thing, I have always wondered what Edward broke in the other room?

I love Edward's gag about settling down. I think it shows he's excited to back with Bella. The tears of laughter rolled down my face when I read that whole exchange, once I'd started breathing again after the proposal.
Poor Charlie. He must know the stuff that goes on with Bella, the Cullens and even the Quileutes is out of the ordinary; he's pretty intuitive at times. I can't really blame Bella for throwing a strop when he get heavy about Edward, even though Charlie is right in a way. He doesn't have all the information. What if Charlie knew that Edward broke Bella's heart in a misguided attempt to keep her alive? He could hardly object to that.
As far as Bella is concerned, the relief to have Edward back would have her flying! It's not surprising she finds the strength to start really fighting for what she wants. She got the second chance she hadn't dared to hope for and she wasn't going to throw it away.

Yeah I was glad to see Edward finally loosening back up a little bit. He was so uptight the entire book this was nice to see. He actually made me laugh too!! Love those lines of his.

Eclipse is my fav and it's mainly because there are so many funny lines and situations. I like Edward's sense of humour.

I know!!! I'm going to annoy the sh!t out of people when that re-read begins because it's my favorite book!!! It is so funny...

Yeah, I've read them all through 6 times and Twilight 7 times. I dream about it. I quote huge sections. I have never read any book so many times and I have read at least a couple of thousand books. Most addictive thing on the planet!

Well I figured they probably make the most money off of Alice. She could easily predict stock market events to make them as much money as they would ever need.

Edward has his own money too. his father was a wealthy lawyer. he inherited property, jewels and other things. so part of that money is his. I believe carlise pretended to be his uncle so they could claim the inheritance.

okay. time to comment on the chapter.
1. i finally started to feel bad for edward. i was still a little mad at him for leaving bella but i understood why. it was kinda sad learning wat edward was doing and feeling.

2. the vote- i loved emmett whenever he said 'hell, yes!" classic emmett moment. i can never seem to hate rosalie, even after she doesn't want bella to a vampire like everyone else. the crashing of something in the other room due to edward being mad that bella want to be some much like him. (what was that he broke?)

3. the proposal- i love how bella keeps trying to make up excuses even though she knows she loves edward. (enough said)

Ok guys, so I think now is the appropriate time to make my soppy lovey-dovey speech now. Here we go..

I wanna say thank you to everyone on this site. I've been on here for months and made some amazing friends. I've always felt so welcome, and I was glad that I found a place with people who I could share this obsession with when the rest of my friends and family thought (and still do) I was insane . We always have great laughs and giggles about silly little things, and then we also have great conversations and debates about other things. You guys have gotten me through the last few months of waiting and made it exciting.

So this is it, what we've been waiting for. We will be watching NM in a few hours! *screams* Ok I'm talking as if someone is dying, but there is a lot more to come ( DVD releases, Eclipse, RM ect.) Ok to sum this all up:

I HAVE just SEEN THE MOVIE!!!!!!!
I can not believe that it's already happened.
It's 03.40.am and I've just got home from the theatre.
The movie..I still don' have any words:the movie WAS AMAZING.
The whole team made a perfect job.
Rob,Kristen,Taylor,Chris and EVERYBODY.
During the movie I was almost crying at the break up scene and the reunit scene was just melting and there were goosebumps ALL OVER MY BODY.I'm in love with their love.
I like it because it is faithful to the book I'm not disappointed at all.I don't have any pretention.IT WAS perfect.It was passionate and there were half-naked hot bodies(hmmm)and there were a lot of jokes which were really funny and I love how Taylor plays Jacob's role and It was bad that Rob was not on screen too much but with Bella's hallucinatios they make you forget about Edwars's absence.
So guys I can't stop thinking about it and talking about it.I wish you all a good,perfect and nice day because it's NOVEMBER the 20th!!!!

Been to see the movie twice LOVE IT!!!! would go back and see it over and over again but I had to come home and no movie theatres here :( I know I'm going to wear out my dvd copy when it comes out. New Moon day started early for me...
OMG!!! I've just returned from the cinema... NM is beyond words... Edward is breathtakingly beautiful, Jake and the wolves are beyond amazing, you just want to lick them off the screen and Bella's emotions are so real!! The Volturi are spectacular... Michael Sheen blew me away with his creeptastic performance and Edward in the sun... just WOW!! I am still sizzling with excitement! Chris Weitz rocks!!!
