NEWSFLASH: Rob and Kristen re-wrote the breakup scene - how good can you be if the actors are doing your job? - which (I might add) should be easy given the great material you've been given to work with.

I watched the video... not only did Rob & Kristen re-write the breakup scene, she says right out that Anna Kendrick improvs better than she can write... ummm... EXACTLY!!!

Peter & Chris fought to have Carlisle's arm-stitching scene in... which MR left out... how many more things could we add to the list?!

And then she goes on about how she just handed Chris a script, and he took it from there rewriting and stuff... and she did any rewrites necessary from LA for Eclipse, because she is SOOO busy... see?! NO ONE MISSED YOU.

Grrrr.... have I mentioned that I particularly care for MR? :D

an also didnet kisten, taylor, an mike get the theater scenes in there....its like maybe you need to go an let a good writer thats a fan write to scrip...

If she's so busy with Dexter, then I'll go do it! :D

As long as the actors are comfortable with the script and have the freedom, as they did in New Moon, to change scenes, add scenes and improvise, I feel safe the next movies will turn out really good. The first movie was almost trial and error and now that Kristen, Rob and Taylor as well as others know and cherish their characters, I think they'll know exactly what the fans want. So I no longer worry too much. When BD comes around, I really think Rob and Kristen know in no uncertain terms what it means to us: Marriage, honemoon (feathers, headboard, naked in water, etc), pregnancy, birth, Vampire Bella, cottage-cottage-cottage, uh, yeah, cottage). Everything else in inconsequential, lol

They made 300 Million Dollars on the movie & another few million on the dvd's not to mention rentals & on demand, plus merchandise. She was the screen writer so matter what any1 says the FANS are the reason she keeps being used

R says she was in constant contact with S.M & end the end she approved so why are u making such a big deal out of it. S.M even said it's scenes she wrote that she wished she'd thought of to put in the book. That's the reason they have writers, directors & actors TOGETHER they can make a great movie each adding something different

So.. basically.. Chris was heavily involved in the script, and was at liberty to change and re-write it as he wanted?

I love Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson and think they are the perfect Bella and Edward. They are fine actors and they understand their roles but I don't necessarily think they are scriptwriters. That's why I'm scared that they were given the opportunity to rewrite their dialog. Kristen and Rob and everyone for that matter, perceives the roles of Bella and Edward filtered through his or her own interpretation of the role. If I were screenwiter the breakup scene would have been easy to write, cut and paste the exact dialog in the book and voila, there you have it, the breakup scene. Then if CW wanted to shorten it fine, do so at your own peril, Chris. He said he wanted to make the twifans happy. The thing that the twifans hated about Twilight was that so much dialog that could have been lifted directly from the book was discarded and replaced with less effective dialog. I am hoping the movie is great but so far I have yet to see a single scene in the endless parade of trailers being spewed by Summit that contains dialog I can remember Stephenie Meyer writing.

I have seen THE GOLDEN COMPASS and it is not pretty. Or rather that is all it is, pretty. The script and dialog are basically unintelligible. If I watch this movie and Bella does not ask during the breakup scene "You don't want me?" followed by a cold "NO" from Edward then I will probably get up and leave. I want to see NEW MOON not another exercise in Directorial one-upsmanship. That being said, the trailers do look good but trailers almost always look good and usually represent 90% of the good scenes in recent movies. I will wait and see.

WOW first of all everthing that was changed or added to New Moon had to go threw Stephaine Meyers for approval so obviously she approved that part, She was also on set and she watched the final product. If something was wrong or she felt like the scenes didn't come off the way it should be like the book I'm pretty sure she would have said something. Right now it looks like SM approved everything so why get mad about the dialog change if SM approved thaqt means she thought it was perfect to be in there. Just don't forget that everything goes threw SM and if you left the movie I'm sure no one will come after you cause they could care less and they want to watch the movie. I think it's ridiculous of ppl saying why did they add this or change this or take this out everything went threw SM so instead of being made that they added this or took this out maybe you should post your comment on SM website and ask her why she approved to have those things happen. I totally love what I have seen and I can't wait. Good luck to you and hope you are pleased with the movie if not oh well you can't please everyone.

It may have gone through SM approve, but we don't know the details of that. They could easily have convinced her this was the right way to do things, they are the "experts" and this is just how it's done. SM is pretty new to all of this, and I think she'll learn more and more as she deals with more expert directors. I don't fault her, but I do think she could have easily been pressured into leaving things out.
