i actually like vampire diaries... but the last couple of episodes have been EXACTLY like new moon... stefan wants to leave so he stops putting her in danger, they take an EXACT quote from new moon; a 'clean break', and there was another thing as well but i cant remember.

but must admit.. im dying to start watching true blood.... might buy the first season on dvd and sit down and get into it now that my summer has just begun as of 2 days ago.

What seasons are out on dvd as of now?

Just the first season. The last I looked you could pre-order the box set of Season 2 - I could not find the release date though. However this was about 3 weeks ago that I last looked.

This vampire chic and her vamp man are getting it on and she starts screaming "It grew back, of course it would grow back, everything grows back!" So she was real upset that now every time would be like the first time. That seemed really weird to me. And I caught a few minutes of another scene and didn't really like it.

Not really enough to judge it by - but it wasn't enough to make me run out and buy the season. I have heard it's good, though.

I try hard everyday to see the glass as half full....instead of half empty but when I hear anything about MR ........ for any one thing she gets right there are hundreds of things that half right or totally wrong............. I think she should stick to tv series with a whole team of writers ............ solo projects she cannot handle.

The whole trip back from italy is missing she could have at least hinted at it, the way B wouldn't sleep cause she didn't want to miss a moment with E... The conversation between B&E outside his house when she has an epyphany and understands he truly loves her and the reasons for the voice in her head, not to mention she learns she loves running on his back........

Please please please get her off this project get someone who loves the book and not this ...... *looks at sheriff's star ~ shining it* ...gaaahhhh never mind

I completely agree. My favorite parts of the book were completely cut out of the script.

The plane ride home where she refuses to go to sleep. Edward kisses all over her face but never on her lips.

Getting to Charlie's house and EC handed her over to him and their banter back and forth.

The bedroom scene in it's entirety, including the "meteor" speech, Bella not believing that he is really there and then telling him that it's ok for him to go. And then him professing his love for her and her telling him about hearing his voice while he was gone and him telling her about hunting for Victoria and why he broke up with her.

And then them leaving to go to the Cullen house. Pivotal/great scene of Bella riding on his back again and remembering how she used to get so sick from doing that, but in that moment she enjoyed the elation of it. And then they stope in the woods before reaching the house and talk more and he kisses her again.

And the vote scene where EC leaves the room and you can hear him breaking the piano and showing his anger.

So much was left out. And I understand that they had to pace the movie right, but you know non Twilight fans hated the film. Twilight fans loved it.

I hope that Summit sees this and understands that WE, the FANS are the target audience and are the only ones that care about this franchise. So if it takes making a two and a half hour to three hour movie to get all of our beloved scenes in the film, then do it. Because we will love it.

I personally loved NM. Yeah, there are things that I would have liked to be in there and some of the dialogue is cringeworthy, but other than that I loved it.

Twilight was weird for me and the complete opposite experience. I loved it the first several times I saw it, but then the more I watched it, the worse it got and then I realized how truly awful it was.

New Moon was different. The more I see it, the more I love it.

My favourite scene in the movie but the reason she didn't mess it up is because there's no dialogue. All the best parts are when there's none of her dialogue.

Let's see:

The opening line is one of my favorites, but it was from Romeo and Juliet.

The diva strut and there was no dialogue.

The moaning kiss post birthday ... no dialogue.

The break up ... all dialogue by Meyer and Stewy and Flippy.

The reunion ... no dialogue .. post reunion ... dialogue from the book.

The Rachelle/Harry/Wolf sequence ... no dialogue.

I've just watched it again with a notebook and a pen clenched in my hand and made notes for a piece entitled 'Screenwriting Crimes in New Moon- A dossier of evidence against MR. The hatred of that awful woman is raw right now!

hearing damage sequence is my favorite part of the movie.

even though she DID write vicky as the cause of harry's heart attack...she DIDN'T blend the 3 events into "hearing damage". the creativity and beauty behind that wasn't really hers. it was thom yorke, chris weitz, and whoever else helped him on that sequence.

Nice to be brought back to Earth, there. My brain was about to explode from the possibility of her doing something right.

That was one of MY fave scenes.. it was just PERFECT.. the way Vicky has Harry up in the air and then BAM, here comes wolf Jake and makes a snap at her... Hearing Damage was PERFECT for this scene.. Bella holding her torso to keep herself together as she's gonna jump off the cliff.. EVERYTHING.. I saw it again yesterday (tee hee) and was at the edge of my seat like the very 1st time...

Scriptwriting Crimes in New Moon-
A Dossier of Evidence Against Melissa Rosenberg.

If anyone is feeling sympathy for Melissa Rosenberg as we continue to attack her abilities, I’d like to share with you my in-depth, full movie critique of the awful things she did to the New Moon screenplay and the script in particular. The first atrocity is committed in the parking lot of Forks High School, after a natural and ad-libbed conversation between the humans which is brilliant. Things go downhill rapidly after Edward appears and performs his now legendary strut. After an entrance like that, it seems only fair to expect a wonderful bit of dialogue to follow it. What does Edward Cullen say to make Bella and the audience go weak at the knees?

“Your birth is definitely something to celebrate.”

Really? Is this the best Edward could come up with for the woman he loves?

In the books and in Twilight, we were told that Edward was born in 1901 and became a vampire at the age of 17, meaning he’s 108. When Bella cracks a joke about age he says he’s 109. Melissa Rosenberg can’t even keep the continuity right from Twilight to New Moon; or has the saga been mysteriously transported into the future? This is such a basic writing error.

Then there’s the exchange between Bella and Jacob. In what alternate reality would a girl like Bella, a lover of the classics and not the most modern girl, ever say, “Hello biceps,” and “You know anabolic steroids are really bad for you?” And right in front of Edward too. Not likely.

This all seems almost smooth in comparison to the horrible, “You give me everything just by breathing,” line that Edward is forced to spew next, which is too cheesy, too trite and nowhere near as sweet as a lot of the lines from the book that could have been used instead.

The next part is actually pretty amusing. It’s the part when Bella is coerced into going to her own birthday party. Jasper’s lines are funny and Alice vaulting the stairs is cute but when you really think about that scene it doesn’t hang together well at all.

The Cullen’s put a lot of effort in remaining inconspicuous and they would never reveal their peculiarities to humans other than Bella. So why does Bella call out loudly to Jasper, “No fair with the mood control thing,” with other students walking past? And then Edward says the word vampire with the same lack of concern.

The next point is something I can’t actually make out clearly and I’d love it if someone could tell me what Bella’s first line in English class is. It sounds as if she says to Edward, “I hate being celibate” but there’s no way that’s what she said! It’s really hard to understand the line when you can’t see her face and the video is playing in the background.

Moving on to the birthday party there’s no explanation of why they think Victoria is coming after Edward. Edward saying to Bella, “You already do protect me,” and “It’s my job to protect you,” is probably supposed to sound romantic but both lines merely sound weak and nonsensical.

The idea of Bella getting onto that strange guy’s bike after the zombie movie really doesn’t work. She’s not the sort of girl to do that, no matter how much she wants to see Edward. Her dad’s a cop, for pity’s sake.

Now we get to the worst, most painful parts of the movie. This begins with Jake calling Bella “Loca,” which instantly makes me wonder when he turned into Ricky Martin. This is nothing compared to the horrors that follow in quick succession.

Bella telling Jake he’s “buff”. He is, of course, but Bella doesn’t speak like that.

Almost all of the dialogue in Jake’s garage in cringe-making. The ‘influencer’ and ‘influencee’ thing is clumsy and when Quil and Embry talk they sound like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I hate to even think of the next one because I hate it so much. Bella saying she’s not a ‘cougar’. I feel a bit sick just thinking about it. She’s 18. Come on!

When I saw Alice jump over the railing, I, too, wondered where did the "We need to act as humanly as possible" Cullen mantra go? I mean, Edward drives a Volvo for goodness sakes. But I sort of put that unusual behavior by the wayside since Alice would be excited about throwing Bella a birthday party. The Cullens don't get the change to do so often so her joy did make sense to me.

Stating across the hall to Jasper, however, did not. Great observation!

Alice's jump, fair enough, she looks like a gymnast. Plenty of humans can do that but the mood control comment, while funny, was utterly wrong!

"I hate being celebrated."

Thank you! That doesn't sound grammatically correct and it totally sounds like celibate. More clumsy phrasing by MR.

I have a hard time believing MR was the sole person who created that scene... I just can't swallow that.

Also... I love how her initials are MR... I see those initials on a daily basis but it usually stands for Mentally Retarded in my line of work.

Suits her perfectly, only most of the kids I work with could probably have written a better script.

Leah turning into a shapeshifter was Harry's cause of Death. I'm not trying to 'put stress on Leah'. I mean, she even says in BREAKING DAWN that she loves Same nough to go away and let him be happy. So maybe the fact that she knew about the fact that she played a part in the death of her father kind of tipped her over the edge a little.
And don't you think Leah or Seth (or maybe just leah) would be hell bent on revenge against Victoria if she was the one that killed her dad? Don't you think Jacob or at least Edward would have mentioned something like that to Bella?

Actually I really do look like this at present. Between the New Moon hangover and the Turkey hangover I need a week just to recover. After Aro dismisses them, it sounds like Marcus said, “It has begun with this,” which is cryptic, to say the least. If that’s not what he said, it really should be clearer.

After Volterra, when Charlie opens Bella’s bedroom door to check on her, he isn’t too upset, doesn’t ask where she’s been and doesn’t mention Edward at all. This leaves Edward’s great line about not breaking the rules because he came in the window a bit unnecessary, without the context of Charlie saying he’s not welcome and Bella isn’t to see him.

The vote fell flat without Edward getting angry. He gave in to Bella becoming a vampire far too easily.

The final scene is rushed and when Edward reads from Jake’s mind that he thinks he’s keeping Bella away from La Push, it makes no sense because they’ve only been back from Italy for a day.

Bella says, “I can’t do this alone,” when Edward says she shouldn’t become a vampire and this makes no sense. Of course she can’t change herself; that is what they were talking about.

I can't make out half of what he says. Can't he open his mouth when he speaks?! Even when I concentrate, I can't hear those two lines. And I've seen it in different cinemas so it's not the sound quality and I have such acute hearing I can't sleep if I leave a watch lying around because I can hear the ticking from across the room.
Weird how those bits sound so garbled to me.

I didn't like that in the final scene when Jacob, Edward and Bella are having the treaty conversation, Bella asks Edward: "he 's (jacob) not going to hurt me, READ HIS MIND" Bella would never ask Edward in that way to read someone's mind...When i saw the movie i thought that was very off...

There's lots of parts that are a bit off like that. I don't think she was asking him to make sure, she was telling Edward that it was OK to trust Jake but it didn't come across well at all.

I realy don`t understand how in the final scene they go from talking to Jacob about the treaty to Edward proposing. It is supposed to be a romantic scene, and him explaining how he needs her, not just ok then 1 condidtion, marry me, and she doesnt get a chance to say anything.
And when they are in Volterra, on their way to meet Aro and the rest of the Volturi she is supposed to be scared to death, not talking like everything is just normal.

But if, it was last year and before the Twilight world press tour. Somewhere was leaked that Kristen was on the dress-list for the Oscars. And she wasnt there. But as soon as things got dirty and complicated in Vancouver during the NM shoot Nikki suddenly came back to LA. Didn't attend the cast party, wasn't at Robs b-day. Something happened and somebody brought things too far.
Something was fishy. You can see that kristen was chopped out of picks with Rob. And then appears the fan photo with Kristen where you can see Rob with her in the backseat. You posted a link to a forum earlier. It is there.
But whatever happened, both K and R worked it out and just dropped it.

I think this was one of the best "Edward moments" of the entire movie. Sure, the reunion scene was awesome but too short--I wanted it to be longer, more drawn out. This scene, however was just right--and I include the whole school parking lot scene, ending with "Never trust a vampire..trust me". Great Edward moments.

Of course, the Edward quoting Shakespeare was a favorite, too...he could do a whole movie just sitting there quoting Shakespeare and I would pay just to see that!

To be in the movie the small amount that he is, he makes an impact. He has some really great moments and the extremes of his emotions. He is so giddy and happy at the beginning, and then goes into utter depression and then anger and then love. He did a great job.

Rob is the only guy that I know of that can do that diva strut and make it look so sexy and cool.

Oh, it isn't in the books. Stephenie said so at interviews and while signing books, but it's not in the books. That's why, although I know that she said this, I still love the scene they used for the movie.

I think Rachelle's posture and gracefulness while fighting/ running/jumping was outstanding. Somehow it added to her sinister quality. The beautiful killer. And the hair!

Oh woman, though you messed up in Twilight, in New Moon you did kind of ok LOL. I did like some of her ideias. Blaming Victoria for Harry's death was very well thought, actually. Oh, and Harry was such a goofy LOL. I had never picture him like that LOL.

I also loved the scenes where Bella is trying to email Alice. The monologue. It was good to know what she was thinking in some different way than Twilight.

No. Leah and Seth change at the end of New Moon, but Bella doesn't know about it until Eclipse. And Stephenie said it, I think it was in an interview. I know I read it. And I'm not the only one, as you can see. ;)

By the way, Harry wasn't eating well, but that doesn't mean that, if his heart was already suffering (as we know it was, because he went to the hospital for some tests), a great shock couldn't have started his heart attack. It could.

There are many scenes that I love but I tend to pay attention to some lets call it interesting aspects. Like for example Edward's silent "hmpf" when Aro realises that he can't read Bella's mind or the fact that Edward and Alice sparkle for a split second when they are heading to Volturi headquarters with Demetri, Felix and Jane:)

Well, I do agree with you on the body language thing. I am a proponent for how much body language speaks volumes.

Taylor and Kristen are so laid back and carefree together, like best friends. But they seem so different as far as personalities and how they come across. So it's nice to see that they have that carefree closeness.

Rob and Kristen on the other hand spend so much time together away from set and in their spare time. They are obviously two peas in a pod with their likes and dislikes, music, movies, views towards the media, etc.

But yet when they are together in an interview or at a promotion, they barely touch, they shy away from each other and almost go out of their way to not be in pictures together. But when you catch them looking at each other, the sexual tension and love is their, in their eyes.

That to me speaks volumes.

But like I said, too freaking complicated. It is what it is no matter what is going on.

There is an article with Chris talking about the New Moon phenomena. What happened to the covers? Are they only selling magazines with the New Moon covers in stores? Anyone else experience this? Why did they advertise the covers if the subscribers weren't included?

I thought the same thing when I got the magazine today too!! I was so mad!! what is up with this Late Greats cover?! I am kind of mad... I REALLY wanted a New Moon cover!

I just wanted to share this with you guys.
I learned yesterday that I'm going to be doing a lyrical/contemporary dance to "Possibility" and "Roslyn"!
I'm really excited to perform those two songs in front of an audience. I mean, it's two things that I LOVE -- dancing and New Moon's music -- mixed into one :)

I loved the scene, it was perfect! Harrys heart attack, Charlie in danger, Jacob fighitn Victoria, and Bella jumping of a cliff! It all fits perfectly!

Its funny...cuz in my head i already saw this happening...when I read the books I anticipated the hunt for victoria being the thing that killed charlie...its like i filled it in inside my head...the scene was kindof awesome...i guess she did that right...and i guess im not still bitter about what got left out...all i can do is hope that eclipse is longer and has it all...there are so many important parts....and breaking dawn is even more intricate...so MR if u get hired for BD dont add any extra...the story is thick enough on its own...please consult stephenie before u change anything...seriously!

Well... I just wish that they placed the cliff scene accordingly.
I imagined it to be more dramatic, like in the trailer. (Which was, to be quite honest, better than the movie itself, transition-wise.)

are there like message boards or does everyone express their feelings of new moon generally on any of these posts?! since i don't see any organized boards, i just have to say it since most people seem to love chris weitz, TWILIGHT was sooo much better in my opinion!! the music did not go very well for the fact that each song was played for 5 sec. since they were prob trying to get in all the artists that wanted to get on the soundtrack, and there was no theme music to the movie that occurred throughout. carter burwell was a great composer for twilight. weitz made the movie even more slow moving than the book meant it to be. and all the cullens looked way worse in this movie, esp edward :/ new moon just did not flow as well as twilight and i just watched twilight and i can watch that movie over and over, and i almost wanted to sleep when i saw new moon for the second time! i could go on, but i think everyone gets my point :) and i just had to get it out of my system, sorry!

but personally i disagree. i think overall new moon was a much better movie. the colour palet was much better ( i think ) and i also think the acting was on a whole new level. to me edward looked loads better in new moon... like LOADS. obviously when he's being beaten down by demetri he wasnt looking his best, but thats understandable, afterall hes being beaten down, and hasnt eaten in forever. i think new moon was funnier, and the way the fight sequences and everything was shot was just on a whole different level.
despite new moon ebing a far better film though, i do feel like a bit of the *beware for cheesy line* magic from twilight was missing. dont know why. i hated twilight the first 3 times i saw it. but the 9/10 times iv seen it since then iv loved it (hated parts though). i loved new moon the first time i saw it however.

i know edward is supposed to look insanely distraught. but in the beginning of the movie he shouldn't, and i didn't think he looked as good. it may be that robert pattinson seemed like he was brooding way too much (pre-jasper almost killing bella). i agree that i don't know what it is, but that cheesy magic i felt was gone and that was why i was more upset with new moon i guess. i'm not saying i hated new moon though because i really do like both movies...opinions are opinions :)

oh ya, i do think the colors were beautiful in new moon too! i loved the romantic style of weitz (but i liked hardwick's sporadic style too! haha). it's weird, but i felt like some parts were slow moving but at the same time some things were rushed! don't know if it was just me and my bf but what made me laugh was how long summit had their logo up at the beginning of the movie.

personally i thought it was one of the best scenes in the film. the whole wya it played out and everything. so im like actually pretty chuffed with MR right now. doesnt mean i like you though :B its just you did a good job... far better than in twilight.

um i also don't understand why no one likes rosenberg? i feel like i am opposite from everyone! haha is it bc she changed a few things around?! read any book that a movie has been based on and it is always like that. it is difficult to follow a storyline exactly. i really likes both the scripts....new moon's acting styles that were chosen in some areas by some actors could have been better though. i did loooove victoria's scenes! and i'm pretty sure that's what other people have been liking too (i haven't really been following along the posts)

I apologize for the length but I want to make sure you understand how I feel, and probably how many of us feel, concerning Melissa Rosenberg's work in New Moon.

I know many feel slighted because certain crucial scenes weren't included in the film. However, my main problem with her, as is many others, is the poor dialogue. She seemed to distill some (Edward) and alter others (Bella) because of the words they say. Her interpretations of the characters were disrespectful to both Stephenie and the fans due to her inaccurate assumptions. And if you're going to radically change a character's speech, you better make it work.

People are their actions and their words. If you make Edward Cullen say cliched lines like "You give me everything by breathing," it cheapens him. He deserves better than that. He is an intelligent vampire. He could come up with better ways to express his love for Bella in his sleep... if he ever slept.

But what is worse is when Melissa attempts to make Bella and Jacob speak in this pseudo-teenage slang. Bella never used the words "mad skillz," "cougar," or "buff." Stephenie made certain that all of her characters spoke in a timeless way, without the influence of modern-day society. Stephenie has said this in many interviews but even if you hadn't heard her say that, it is clear in the saga. Stephenie doesn't even include names of bands to date her work. So if you read these books in 30 years, it would be as if she wrote them 30 years from now. So for Melissa to insert these terms and phrases, it is as if she did not understand Stephenie's intentions at all.

What I find even more disappointing is how Melissa's assumptions on how teenagers speak are blindingly inaccurate. Notice how the human teenagers speak compared to how Bella and Jacob speak. I've learned recently that most of the lines the "humans" say are improvised, especially the scene when Jessica and Bella leave the theater and run into the bikers. Literally, that's all Anna Kendrick, the actress who plays Jessica, not Melissa Rosenberg. And her words are not infiltrated with the assumed slang that Melissa used at all.

So, OK, she's a screenwriter and she wanted to add her own creative element to the saga. I get that, that's cool. If you're Joss Whedon or Diablo Cody, make up all the stuff you want. But you do not write cheap pseudo-teenager slang to the film because that's how you think they speak. It is disrespectful to teenagers, Stephenie, and the characters.

Well put....and just to add: We fell in COMPLETE love with this story....
SO many KEY elements of the story line that DEFINED the love between Edward and Bella is what I was DYING to SEE played out on screen!!!!

I know a movie can't be verbatim...
There's only so much time everyone is allotted...
But; Melissa just took something beautiful and intensely relatable....And butchered it.....We have CW that's busting his @ss to stay "True to the book"....To the point were he's walking around the set with the book under his arm!!!! THAT'S dedication!!!....And then here's MR; that throw's her 2 cents in...and just.....She's like a toddler that comes into a VERY CLEAN, WELL PUT TOGETHER, house that has been worked on...AND MESSES EVERYTHING UP!..........

ANyhow....there's my rantings....

ha, yes i know about how it should be timeless and they improvise at times, and i agree on how the timelessness the book portrays should have been depicted on screen. i wasn't really thinking about that as i watched the movie. and i'm 21 and i don't necessarily say mad skills in my regular dialogue, but in the situation it would not be unbelievable to me...so i don't think her interpretations of teenagers are blindingly innacurate, but that even depends on where you are from. but back to new moon, current teenage slang should not have been used if the movie were to stay true to the book. i do also wish that edward, and all the vamps could sound much more learned and lived as they should be.

OK, teens may say mad skillz but I don't think they say that anymore LOL. I haven't been a teen in ten years and so ten years ago, we said that. I don't think they say that anymore though LOL.

Did you see the first Twilight movie? And did you hear the utterly awfully cheesy dialogue in New Moon and have you listened to her interviews? She could give a shiz less about the books or the fans. That's the reason we despise her. :)

i've only listened to one of her interviews, and it was not the one above, so i've only based my thoughts on seeing the movies. but yes, i saw twilight and have read all the books and have already explained my dislike for most of new moon. however, i did see twilight before reading the books so the way i viewed and interpreted the movie was prob very different than those fans who read the books first :)

Even though I must say I loved how Victoria was the cause of Harry's death in the movie because it was an extremely intense scene, what Melissa says here bugs me.
Stephanie DID give the reason for his heart attack. It was because he saw Seth & Leah transform into wolves & that's what killed him.
So even though I liked it, her statements were completely inacurate.
The one scene in New Moon that really I just sat there like "WTH" was the scene where Bella gets on the back of the creep's motorcycle. And then she just magically appears back with Jessica. How is that possible!? Like it just doesn't make sense at all. I know that it was there to set up the whole thing with the motorcycles but still, there are way better ways to do that instead of just making her go off with some gangbanger & then somehow get back to the exact place where her friend is without getting raped.
But all in all I loved New Moon :)

I just watched New Moon again and tried really hard to stop staring at Kristen and pay more atention to the other things happening and the other characters LOL. It was great to watch the movie again (despite I still think 30 minutes of movie is missing in the end) and I'm planning to watch it again tomorrow.

You know what I loved the most about that Wolf/Victoria/Harry scene, aside from how wonderful the song went with it... the epic-ness of the way CW filmed it, the slow motion, then sped up, the crow flying above head.
That part when Victoria is running in slow motion with the above shot and then it speeds up when the wolves all come in chasing behind here.
It.was.perfect.

Seriously, everytime I've seen it I'm on the edge of my seat holding my breathe. It really showed CW's "mad skillz."

I have written a list of all the parts of MN that MR got totally wrong and I was going to post it here until it was finished and I realised it's 7 pages long.
Even with my hatred of her work, I didn't suspect that there was THAT much terrible dialogue and ropey plot in it.
I think I might have to post it in instalments.

In Bella’s truck she says ‘mad skillz’, a phrase so bad, Bart Simpson probably said it once 10 years ago. Then there’s the way Bella recognises Sam Uley on the cliff, from that vast distance, although she only saw him once when she was nearly catatonic yet she doesn’t recognise Embry at that distance, even though she knows him pretty well and he’s only had a haircut. Then she asks if Jake has ‘some kind of beef’ with Sam’s gang. Again, Bart Simpson, circa 1999.

In Emily’s kitchen, there’s no need for Emily to say she’s engaged to a wolf; we know that already and it lessens the impact of her and Bella’s ‘vampire girl/wolf girl’ exchange.

Bella’s statement that, “You can’t run with vampires, because they’re fast,” sounds like something a five year old would say. So, Bella goes from cougar to kindergartener. She’s chatting and joking with the pack although she still thinks they’re murderers at this point. Switching the order of scenes didn’t pan out here.

The terrible Face Punch movie title is so bad that I find my finger pressing an imaginary fast-forward button when I’m in the cinema. Even Bella’s human friends with their brilliant ad-libbing can’t save that dud.

I know Jake and Bella’s break up scene was heavily rewritten but there’s some of it that still doesn’t work for me. Bella saying, “You cut your hair off and got a tattoo” before asking anything else. She’s been worried; she wouldn’t be focussed on the superficial things. Jake saying he used to be “...a good kid,” sounds hokey to me. I can’t imagine a 16 year calling himself a kid.”

When Bella tells Jake to be careful because he doesn’t know how fast Victoria is, it seems stupid because he’s just told her that the pack chased Victoria to Canada. She should have been telling him that Victoria is dangerous.

The conversation between Bella and Jake in her truck after the cliff dive is flat and stilted. Their body language is great but the dialogue is pointless. Jake says he thinks he’s going to disappear but doesn’t explain that he means he feels he won’t be able to change back to human form. It’s left hanging and doesn’t sound right.

When Alice is back, so little of the conversation with Bella is shown, it leaves a lot of the following dialogue feeling clumsy and without context. The exchange between Alice and Jake is rubbish and grammatically incorrect.

Bella immediately knows she smells of wet dog because of Jake which seems like a stretch. Alice only knows that Jake is a werewolf and she doesn’t know about Victoria because the pack clouds her visions but as soon as Jake walks in she seems to know he’s referring to Victoria and she also knows there’s a pack. How could Alice know that when she can’t see werewolves and she’s only found out that Jake is a werewolf? Suddenly, Alice seems to read minds like Edward!

i agree, that if they wanted to heighten the emotions of depression creeping back up in bella bc if jake's dissapearing, bella would not be focused on hair and tattoos at that moment. so wrong.

that whole alice and bella scene was just weirdly out of place.

also, i think how jake lashes out at mike and says he's going to put him in the hospital was strange. i think bella should have noted that jake was burning up first and then have jake lash out bc then i wouldv'e understood at that moment why jake was being wierd.
