fandango gift cardsPR Newswire reports that New Moon now holds the #1 spot over at Fandango for Advanced Ticket sales beating out some pretty big movies -

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ — With five more days before its November 20 release date, New Moon has already leaped over previous record-holders to become the top-selling pre-release title in Fandango’s ten-year history. The new record for Fandango’s fastest-selling film was set on Saturday night, November 14, shortly after 8:00 p.m.

The Top 5 Advance Ticket-Sellers on Fandango (as of November 15, 2009) are now as follows:

  1. New Moon (2009)
  2. Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005)
  3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
  4. The Dark Knight (2008)
  5. Twilight (2008)

Not overly shocked though! I can’t wait to see the numbers New Moon brings in over its first weekend in theaters. And maybe some announcements that may come after :D

    well i sure do hope that is better than twilight cuz twilight part from the movie itself sucking didnt make a lot compared to actually good movies and is hard for the second movie to do better than the first but i hope it does and that is nothing like twilight.i love the twilight series but i live on the earth and this movie is not gonna beat harry potter or the dark knight and idk but u guys will possibly be sayin that is gonna beat titanic too and that is just not being realist the only reason why this movie is so popular is cuz the same person buys the movie or the book hundred times until their parents puts a stop to them but the series is not as popular around the world like harry potter or anyother.so dont hate me i love the twilight series but just dont get ur hopes too high.
  • Definitely got my tickets from Fandango for 8PM on the 20th. I have a feeling that once I get to the theaters, all the times will be sold out and the lines for the theater will be looonnngg. So I'll be there 2 hours in advance lol

    I have been getting people into the Saga for months so now they are all going to watch it Opening weekend. I am going twice, midnight on Thu with my daughter and then on Friday night we are bringing a friend each!
    We have to make this movie big, because we need BREAKING DAWN!!!!!
    I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THIS WEEKEND NO OTHER MOVIE WILL BE HEARD THAT IS NOT NEW MOON!!!

    I wound up taking off today..heading to the Dr. in about an hour. It absolutely KILLED me to take off, but I have got to get this thing nipped in the bud. Honestly, it was ILA that convinced me...I wasn't going to, but eventually I came to my senses and realized I'd be pretty much worthless today if I did go in and try to teach. So..hopefully the good ol' doc can get some meds in me and help me to start feeling better.

  • I figured you would be VERY surprised. I looked for you on Twitter then figured I'd find you here. Sure enough! LOL

    Yeah, it was about 2:30 a.m. when I finally came to my senses. Up until then I was in denial, convincing myself I'd be fine. It's nice to have another teacher to talk to that "gets it" and is able to help you see the light of how worthless you really would be and how you need to take care of yourself. LOL I'm really bad that way...hardly ever take off for sickness...too much of a hassle to prepare for a sub. Today though was a different story.

    No kidding I have to get better!! They're calling for rain on Thursday, so I have to better!! Can't stand out in line in the rain being sick and all. NOT good!! :o)

  • So got home a bit ago from the doc..sinusitis. Nothing unusual for me. Basically drainage is what's making me cough and everything. The throat was pretty red too. He put me on an antibiotic and cough syrup. I'm going to grab a bite to eat, take my cough syrup, and since it causes drowsiness, probably be down for the count. LOL Guess rest is what I need though. I'll be back on later tonight, my time, so I will talk to you then. :o)

  • it depends on taste. but to me, my fave series of books will always be harry potter. cos its MUCH better written and more intricate, and more fantastical. twilight to me is just entertaining.

    I want EVERYONE to go and see New Moon opening weekend and help it to become the #1 grossing movie for an opening weekend!

    #1 right now is Dark Knight at $158,411,483.

    Twilight is #37 on the list and statistically speaking, sequal's tend to make twice as much money as the original....so here's hoping....and I TOTALLY believe New Moon can do it!

    Oh I totally believe it's possible.

    I had signed up with Fandango for an alert when tickets went on sale in my area...never got an alert and have had my tickets for about...mmm....a month and a half now. I'm not positive because i've never gone through them before but I would think they would only have the numbers for those who purchase through them....right? So maybe the numbers are off...as far as overall sales.

    Yea, it's who ever purchased tickets through Fandango for advanced showings, which is basically midnight showings. That number doesn't include the people who bought them at other ticket websites or the theaters.

    Don't get me wrong, I really want it to be the best.. but it's going to be hard especially with all of the TwiHaters because of the first movie. I'm hoping for good reviews to pull more people to see it.
