I think you have to be cop or be related to a cop to fully understand what they go through on a day to day basis. My dad was a cop too, so I grew up in that lifestyle. Sometimes my dad or husband will say something that people look at them like WTF. I guess some people could read your fanfic and think the same thing. I doubt anything you could say would offend me!

I did the little bit about the rape cases as a joke to hopefully get a laugh out of some.

But I was also being serious. Cases like that are a dime a dozen and it gets really hard to not be cynical.

You get used to patterns of behavior with people to tell that they are lying.

I remember my first year as a cop, I pretty much believed everyone's sob stories. I was taken to the side at one point during training and was told "Heather, you have got to be a b&*ch or you are going to get run over."

I didn't fully understand that until later on. But it is so true in this profession.

My side of the family are all democrats and very liberal minded. They have had to get used to my opinions over the years. :)

I worked as an assistant conductor for a youth chorus for 3 years, was the musical director of a musical just when hubby & I started dating, chorister for both children & congregation at church for several years....

Taught private flute lessons until I moved - transferred to a new city for work. Now I'm the choir director for our Church, still play the flute but very sporadically (read: why, I'd LOVE to play for the Christmas program! LOL)

Ive had the chance to work with some amazing people, though, and have traveled through the UK, over to Japan, and in the US & Canada with marching bands.

OME! Since you're a choral conductor then you might know the maestro I sang with for over three years. I sang in the Saint Charles Borromeo Church Choir that's conducted by Paul Salamunovich! He was the conductor for the LA Master Coral for years! We have recordings out of us singing like O Magnum Mysterium, compositions by Durufle and sang Mozart Requiem with the LA Phil at the christening of the LA Cathedral & performed the same piece for Pope John Paul at the Vatican. I was supposed to go to Italy to sing with them but my niece was hospitalized with e coli so I dropped out at the last minute. I really regret not going but family first. I never told my niece about that. The guilt would have killed her.

All joking aside, Chris Weitz needs to win a major award for his work on this film. He took what was left of the Twilight movie and made that into something that by all that I have seen so far, is going to be epic, and brilliant and a true masterpiece.

Money can be attributed to a lot of things, but someone's own creativity, eye for detail, and visual style is something that is a rare commodity in this industry. You can see this in every aspect of the movie with the cinematography, the CGI, the wardrobe, the details from the book, the camera angles, catching the intimacy, and now the make up.

I am just so overwhelmed, and I haven't even seen the movie yet. :)

The premiere is supposed be on the 20th, and there are cinemas that have already started selling the tickets, but they are not in the city where I live:( I know they'll be showing NM here (well of 1 cinema I am not 100% sure), but they usually start selling the tickets like a week before the showing.... I hate to wait lol

Saturdays are a fun day. My 2nd job is at a specialty pet store and my dog comes with me. The manager, her 2 dogs, my dog , and I play while working so it does go by quick...

Delilah is a pure bred Brittaney Spaniel she is 1 (DOB 6-21-08) and FULL of energy. I go to training once a week to work with her. We are working towards our Therapy Dog International certification. I want to volunteer on Sunday at the Children's ward at my local hospital.

BUT she needs to calm down a little first. LOL

I LOVE HER! AND she is VERY spoiled (as Nutty and H2b can attest to...)

ours was a pure bred dauschaund. *sigh* that cute little, long thing. hehehe. she's deaf so that was such a fun times. we'd call her but we'd end up being ignored. unless she would us then she'd bounce up and down and run all over. hehehe. good times.. good times... ^_^

She is really well trained it is just I am not ready to take her for the test. When she meets new people - she gets this 3o pounds of 22 inch long legs butt wiggle going that takes over her whole body. It is very comical but I do not want her fail for that!

hahahaha. i can totally picture it right now. too cute!!!! ^_^ but yeah.. it's better to have her fully trained. especially if she'll be around tons of children or people. and in the hospital too. hehehe. how far along is her training now?

We have been taking classes since last September.

We are now in an advanced class and she can do (but doesn't like to) non-verbal, verbal, and combination off leash as well as all on leash commands. We are starting the 'Find me' game to lead to scent discrimination. She LOVES 'find me' and literally does this gazelle like leap as she runs around looking for me with her floppy ears perked up like piggy tails and her stumpy tail wagging. she is so much fun!

She knows sit, down, flat (as in flat on her side with her head on the floor), heel, let's go, stand, come, 'drop' (while coming to me I say or signal down and she immediately drops into a down), walking with me 'down', automatic sit while heeling (I stop-she sits), up, say hi, leave it, gentle, release (drop whatever you have in your mouth), and free time (her release word to go play). OH and shake (in the shower after her bath or when on the porch after the rain - not in the house LOL)

We need to work on paw/shake

hihihi. i'd like to see her do the leaping like a gazelle thing! i can only imagine it... it's too funny and cute!!! ^_^

WOW. she knows a lot of stuff now huh? thats good then.. for she'll behave more with the coming training and all... but wow.. she knows tons of stuff except the paw/shake??? i thought thats the first thing dogs learn? hehehe ^_^

The trainer I work with felt puppies don't have the control to be gentle enough with that and can accidentally harm the human (think small child and a paw swipe across the face - almost an Emily) and he feels the same about tug. We play tug now because she has a firm grasp on WHO is alpha and regardless of who she plays it with (like my 4 yr old nephew) if I say release, she lets go, and no one gets hurt.

I also want to teach her the balance a cookie on her nose thing...

Almost all of her commands are based off of the basic Sit, Heal, Down, Stay and Come (OH! and 'let's go' AKA loose lead walking). Just branched out (the walking with me and while walking, on command drop into a down). Dave (her trainer) used to train police dogs, PLUS D loves him to death! If we have an off week then she and I have to stop in to visit...

The break downs are cool and she is so good at heal that she and I can do right and left about turns (there is no command BUT it is a skill - Some European country list of commands) on and off leash.

YES! Delilah and I spend A LOT of time together. I sound obsessed with her in her!

OMG! i'd love to see her do the cookie balance thing! sounds cute and funny! hehehehe. oh yeah.. sounds like u and D really spend a lot of time together, *wink* but hey if she's that cute and adorable, i dont mind spending my time with her too.. ^_^
