MTV News asked Nikki Reed (aka Rosalie Cullen) some of the questions fans posted on MTV.com, MTV Movies Blog, and Hollywood Crush.

Q: In “New Moon,” Rosalie is the one who tells Edward that Bella has died. Do you think that Edward had a right to know, or do you personally think it was none of her business to tell him?

Reed: I am always going to come to Rosalie’s defense and say that she wasn’t just trying to hurt him. I mean, he is her brother and she does love him. She felt bad for how she has treated their entire relationship, and maybe it was her way of taking the initiative and wanting to be the one to break the news to him. She wasn’t lying to him; this is what Alice thought and what she told Rosalie. So Rosalie felt the need to break the news to Edward.

Poor Nikki just never gets any love and I just don’t get it.  Love makes the world go round.  Don’t hate on her, life is too short.  I think she does an amazing job as Rosalie!  She’s my girl crush, if I was batting for the other team….I so would! ;-) Give her break people!

    but on a more serious note - its crap how much flak she cops. she's gorgeous and deserves a break. we shouldn't be putting down young women like this. she's not slutting it up like lindsay and paris.

    I fell in love with Twilight in the midst of all the nikki reed hating, so I have ABSOLUTELY no clue why people dislike her? what was the issue? I feel like taytay at comicon when the robsten question came up: lost and confused.

    As much as the character of Rosalie just irritates the mess out of me, I really do think Nikki Reed is incredible!

    I'm gonna say, I think she is absolutely stunning, and whoever says "omg she's horrible"bla bla bla, they're insecure and trying to look better than her. She's stunningly beautiful IMO though :)

    I think rosalie didnt mean it in a bad way. like she nikki reed said. she was just feeling bad that shed treated bella and edwards relationship so bad that iguess she thought she could someone what makle it better by atleast breaking it to him.
    its not really explained much in the book. but it said that she sincerely apologized
    PERSONALLY. Rosalie is one of my fav characters.

    I've read that....even before I got into the series...it was after viewing Twilight and I was trying to cure my insatiable thirst for anything related...it was a good chapter!!

  • Yea, in reading that excerpt - the way Alice speaks to Rosalie to confirm what was said leads me to believe that Rosalie was being a bit smug about the whole thing. I do like the Rosalie character, especially after reading eclipse. As far as Nikki is concerned, I think she plays the beeyotch part quite well. I do not see what all the fuss is about.

    The internet works great. Get my emails and all. The iPod has come a long way lol and I have a blackberry. It's ok. Won't let me post on nmm.org. that's it's only downfall. Shuda just got an iPhone but I have tmobile =( and they suck. But um too cheap to pay the cancellation lol

    So my next stop after she said she reads her IMDB boards was to go to IMDB and try to post something nice about her. But they make you give them a credit card number to post and I'm not gonna do that. But I hope that somehow some nice comments make it back to her,cuz I thin Nikki is awesome. And I've thought she was awesome since "Thirteen," which she wrote before she even hit high school. It was such a moving and relatable movie. Also, she's awesome in "Mini's First Time" and I think she makes a great Rosalie.

    But I admire her for getting through all the hate and scrutiny she's been receiving every single day.

    Having tabloids bash at you is not something you can just easily avoid. Every one talks about it. And hearing that you're the "antagonist" of the Rob/Kristen rumors is agonizing. I mean... we gotta give her some credit.

    I felt she redeemed herself a bit more at this point, too, but I also like that in NM she was big enough to apologize to Bella and thank her for saving her brother's life. It was BD that I liked her even less than I had previously. :\
