Chapter 24: Vote

“Edward loved me.  The bond forged between us was not one that could be broken by absence, distance, or time.  And no matter how much more special or beautiful or brilliant or perfect than me he might be, he was as irreversibly altered as I was.  As I would always belong to him, so would he always be mine.”

I feel the vote was comical and serious all rolled into one.  Anything that includes the entire Cullen coven is magnificent!

• Well it seems as if we are back to old times again.  Edward takes Bella onto his back and they fly to the Cullen Manor, to start the voting process
• Pg 528  We finally get a first hand account of what Edward went through during his utterly ridiculous 7 month separation from Bella  “You were better at it than I was, you know.  Surviving.  You at least, made an effort.  You got up in the morning, tried to be normal for Charlie, followed the pattern of your life.  When I wasn’t actively tracking, I was…totally useless.  I couldn’t be around my family-I couldn’t be around anyone.  I’m embarrassed to admit that I more or less curled up into a ball and let the misery have me.”  Oh Edward!!!
• Pg. 532  Edward comes up with the most ridiculous plan ever.  He plans to simply hide Bella if the Volturi come looking for her…yeah like that’ll fly.  “Do you remember Demetri?  He finds people-that’s his talent, why they keep him.  His ability is loosely related to what I do, or what Aro does.  He catches the…flavor?  I don’t know how to describe it…the tenor…of someone’s mind, and then he follows that.  But after Aro’slittle experiments, well…”  “You think he won’t be able to find me.”  “I’m sure of it.  He totally relies on that other sense.  When it doesn’t work with you, they’ll all be blind.”  “And how does that solve anything?”  “Quite obviously, Alice will be able to tell when they’re planning a visit, and I’ll hide you.  They’ll be helpless.  It will be like looking for a needle in a haystack!”  “Excellent plan my brother.”  “No.”  Rosalie hissed.  “Absolutely not.”  I agreed.  “Nice.”  Jasper’s voice was appreciative.  “Idiots.” Alice murmured.  Lmaoo I Love love love this family, and Edward needs a new plan.
• Pg 533  After Bella gets all mellow dramatic, and feels as if Edward doesn’t want her in his family, finally the votes are in.  Jalice say yes.  Rose says no, obviously.  “Let me explain.  I don’t mean that I have any aversion to you as a sister.  It’s just that…this is not the life I would have chosen for myself.  I wish there had been someone there to vote no for me.” Aww Rose!  This is why I cant outright dislike her.  Emmett, says Hell yes! lol.  Esme says yes, Carlisle gives an indirect yes as well.  Edward then flips out and leaves the room.
• Pg. 535  Edward is now destroying property in the Cullen home apparently, which annoys me since Carlisle is the only one in that house with a job!  Bella turns to Alice and asks her to begin the transformation, but Alice is reluctant.  “Um, Bella.  I don’t think I’m ready for that yet.  I don’t have any idea how to not kill you.”  Um yeah, let’s not roll with Alice on this one, can we get someone else?
• Pg. 540  The marriage proposal.  “Marry me first.”  “Okay.  What’s the punchline?  Edward please be serious.”  “I am one hundred percent serious.”  “I’m only eighteen.”  “Well, I’m nearly a hundred and ten.  It’s time I think I settled down.”   Cute.
• Charlie and Bella finally go head to head, and she acts like a spoiled brat in my opinion.  She did just leave him for 3 days with no word or reason, he’s a parent for goodness sake.  In the end Bella is legally an adult and the only say Charlie has, is what goes on in his house.

So what’s your vote?  I think she needed to stay human for now.  She has plenty of years to become immortal.  Just not right now.  I’ve always pushed for Bella to stay human anyway, because of her age, I realize she will get old and Edward will be forever 17, but when the aging begins then she can turn.  Any thoughts?

According to Yahoo’s Movie Talk, New Moon is already setting advance ticket sales record! 

Online ticket seller Movietickets.com announced today that the second “Twilight” movie has taken the top spot on their list of the “Top 10 Advance Ticket Sellers of All-Time.” It passed the record set four years ago by “Star Wars – Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.” Even established franchises like “The Lord of the Rings,” “Harry Potter” and “The Dark Knight” couldn’t match the early sales of this highly anticipated sequel.

“New Moon” also became the top pre-selling movie ever for the other major online ticket seller, Fandango.com. Both Movietickets.com and Fandango report that the movie accounts for 94% of all the tickets currently being sold on their sites.

Fandango also points out that its second-highest ticket seller yesterday was Thursday night’s re-release of “Twilight,” which is playing in some theaters before “New Moon” debuts at midnight.

Come on people!  We need to make New Moon break all opening weekend records of ALL TIME!!   I know I’m seeing New Moon at least two times this weekend and probably another 20 times in the theaters afterwards.  Not to mention when it comes out on DVD in February.  LOL! 

I can’t believe I’m seeing New Moon tonight.  Tonight’s gonna be a good night!

Vanity Fair has a new interview with New Moon-er Nikki Reed (aka Rosalie Hale).

Nikki talked to Vanity Fair via email due to her hectic schedule -

What in your life has changed the most since Twilight came out?

The biggest change is that people recognize me now. Before Twilight, occasionally I would get the “Hey are you that girl from that movie?” but no one knew my first and last name. The fans of the saga are amazing, and it’s very flattering.

How did filming New Moon differ from Twilight?

We were all friends when we headed up to Vancouver to shoot New Moon. There was an obvious closeness that became apparent towards the end of Twilight.

Did anything change in the way that you interact as a cast from one film to the other?

Yeah, we used to have a lot of group dinners.

Do you or the Cullen actors have a ritual or anything you do to prepare or rev you up before shooting a scene?

We don’t really have a “getting into character ritual,” unless you count constant joking around and chaos.

Rosalie’s part continues to grow with each film. What scenes—out of the three films thus far—have been your favorites to shoot and why?

I just wrapped Eclipse yesterday and the last scene we shot is probably my favorite thus far. I finally got to tell my story, in a very gentle yet elaborate way.

What was it like working with Chris Weitz on New Moon and David Slade on Eclipse?

It’s challenging because all of the directors have a different perspective and a different approach. It was great working with David because he really took the time to sit down with me and go over every moment. Chris is an amazing man, but unfortunately we didn’t have that much to do together as the Cullens are only in a few scenes in New Moon. David is quite a character and tons of fun to work with. Both men had a very strong vision, which is essential.
