Not take a quote - clearly - about the media sensation and crap gossip mag covers - and spin doctor it into a 'denial' of a relationship as obvious as the sky being blue. Don't know how long ago this interview was conducted (probably early summer June ish) but really, lots of things you could have asked about. You're looking exactly like Entertainment Tonight who even had video of him saying how ridiculous the magazine covers were and turned it to a "the rumours are false" tag. Well done. You drink from the same pool as the rest of them. The pictures are amazing, that's about all I can say about that. I agree, it had, what, three direct quotes from Rob, and nothing personal at all. Ugh. And that whole bit about Kristen and Rob's relationship was embarrassing. If you don't get a quote about it in your interview, DON'T write about it, and certainly don't recycle old quotes, or ask a third-party (aka Catherine the Hardwicke). Journalism 101. Anyway, I expected more... this was like reading a gossip rag.

It was like reading a gossip rag. And I have a feeling it was done as a defense to the Peoples Rob Messy Love Life. The first pictured Rob as the romantic fool pining after his costar he fell in love with at first sight and never experienced another vagina since the casting and this.... It's disappointing. And why do they have to quote CH in all this mess...From Robs quotes I feel he just wanted to say that he is fed up with the speculation and being a show. Kristen said something alike in Allure and it was left that way, people understood it that way and there was no big deal made of it.

the classic example of misquoting, taking things out of context and taking liberties in free writing.I mean it was supposed to be an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW. why the she said/he said/the Hardwicke said?

Unless this was cleared up somewhere and I have yet to read it,I have a feeling the interview was like 10 minutes long over the phone and Rob was dog-tired from working on set all day or something.

The photoshoot is just as fantastical as Rob playing a 108 year old vampire. But the interview is Rob's reality. And Rob's reality is 90% Edward Cullen and 10% Robert Pattinson.

And every insight of THE Rob Pattinson is turned into a huge deal. i just learned one thing: don't ever get so invested in anything like this. This situation is just messed up. And makes the whole New Moon promo that much harder. Because like everything in the saga its a blow up of massive proportions. Whatever they do now they wont win.

I don't get why people are so disappointed in this. Since Comic Con, the cast has been on this whole new "let's all be as vague and personality-less as possible" trip. The reason why, I think, they were so much looser during Twilight was because it was an indie. Now, it's a machine. And with machines come bland, automaton-like responses to even more bland, automaton-like questions.

Notice how Kristen used to say she had a boyfriend during the Twilight promo and now doesn't even bother answering that question. And even if she were dating an unknown guy, I have a feeling she'd do what Kristen does best: grimace and flip them the bird LOL.

I just think its not just because its a machine.they have a big audience,spectators and become guarded and just try to stay out of it. The Kristens boyfriend was a mistake: they played the whole Rob-Kristen amazing chemistry but there was always Kristen has a boyfriend comment to it. they wanted to have their cake and eat it too.

This is rather odd. Why call it an interview if you are not going to quote? The journalists have taken to asking everyone working with him about Rob (instead of themselves) and then when a journalist from a major magazine actually gets Rob, all she can do is to make comments ABOUT Rob?

It would be so much more interesting to hear what he has to say. Just put his raw comments out there. We readers can sort them out themselves without the subjective commentary of the journalist.

I think what's happened is that Rob literally has nothing to talk about. It's either too personal or is directly related to his craft. And who wants to talk about his artistic approach to EC emotional collapse in NM?

So now his interviews have to be about his ever dull life as a hotel rat.

What Rob should do from now on is talk about Taylor because Rob talking about Taylor is much more interesting than Taylor talking about Taylor LOL.

Rob and Taylor do say very complimentary things about each other. They do seem to be good friends as do the rest of the cast, which is nice.

I just think that with all the producers , publicity department, agent and managers Rob has directing him and his career, arranging all these interviews, that they might come up with some more interesting questions and answers to prepare.

I get that Rob thinks he and his life are boring put they are "selling" him and the movie here. This is not him being attacked by the paparazzi, this is a planned interview. Maybe they could come up with something...or have him interact with someone? during the interview (Kristen, Taylor, Peter, Bobby Long....)?

So far from what I've read, it tells me very little about him and no significant quotes whatsoever. This person first sounds like they spent time doing an intimate interview and then goes on to say almost nothing about him but to rehash old information.

What do they expect people to come away with after they're read this little article? I couldn't really tell.. Almost as if they were being complimentary with the pictures, then portraying a more negative, unflattering persona in the article (which they are calling an "interview"?) No depth at all.

the interview was conducted in June. And I see a defensive demeanor in both Kristen and Robs latest interviews(Allure and this one) The summer was a crap gossip extravaganza which for me was cleared within the weekend of the Teen Choice Awards. I just have a feeling that this article tries to scratch almost healed wounds and is uncalled for right now.
First the drinking-problem and the beer-bottle-littered floor.
Then the rumored paramour.
And of course being closed in the hotel room.
It is nothing insightful.

I was a little shocked... (if that's the right word) that Vanity Fair actually described the contents of his hotel room.

I wasn't expecting that. I mean, it's Vanity Fair. It's known for being a credible magazine. But how they wrote it... it made Rob look... bad, for lack of a better word.

It is quite immoral and unethical for a journalist to include that in her article. She just made Rob look like a dishrag. And don't forget Catherine saying that he "was 'always drunk', entertaining Stewart and other members of the cast in his hotel room with his guitar."
That's so... wrong. Making him look like an actual derelict. Unbelievable.

Apparently Rob is not pleased with the article.

both of them really didn't deny.

You're right, they're just denying about all the tabloid rumors but they didn't specifically address their relationship.

Yeah, the writer of the article of course had to put their two cents in like all tv hosts/interviewers do. Funny how they never use a direct quote when it comes to saying the rumors are false. Besides, if they really weren't anything, it wouldn't be such a big issue when people ask about it at Comicon or ask other cast members. I figured neither of them would answer since Kristen said something in the Allure mag about it being important to keep what you want private and own it.

I just wanted to say, that's just a little preview of that interview. It's not the entire interview. There's A LOT more to come.
