Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer has shared some exciting news with all of her fans via her website -
Hi everybody!
I wanted to apprise you all of a few upcoming things.
You know I’ve been doing the hermit thing this last year, in so far as media is concerned, and I’m not changing that now, but I am making an exception. I’m doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. And since I’m only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big. So….I will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 13th. Check the local listings on Oprah’s website to find out what time it will be on where you live.
Of course, most of the questions for Oprah will be designed for a broader audience than just die-hard Twilight fans, and I imagine people who read this site and other fansites will already know most of the answers. To rectify this, I’m going to answer your more specific questions on-line. The official Twilight Saga website (www.TheTwilightSaga.com) will be taking any New Moon movie-related questions you might have for me, and then I’ll answer those most frequently asked. I’ll post the answers on the Twilight Saga website and also here on my own site. Questions can be submitted to TheTwilightSaga.com from noon (Eastern Standard Time) on Monday, November 9th through noon Tuesday, November 10th. The answers will be posted Monday, November 16th—or New Moon Premiere Day, as it is known around my house. (Details about submitting the questions will be posted first thing Monday morning at TheTwilightSaga.com, you can also get more information below.)

I'm actually surprised Oprah hasn't tried to get the whole cast to come on her show and make it a New Moon day.
I dont really know exactly lol… I've just never been a huge fan of hers. But I do watch her show every so often when I know people I want to see will be on there. I'm not an Oprah hater. Maybe the fact that she single handedly picked who was going to be president kind of creeps me out…. lol (j/k)

Lol for me…it's that she's totally overbearing…she can turn an interview into something about her…I dunno. It just annoys me personally, and I kinda worry that Stephenie isn't going to get the interview she really deserves out of this.

i think a lot of people with quite painfull lives are totally invested in her story as a way to escape….it's be nice if she did it for them
Hmm, Stephenie doesn't seem like a push over to me. She can hold her own. If she was able to turn down all those film options where Bella would've ended up as a Cheerleader/Slayer, then she can stand up to Oprah.
Personally, I like Oprah. Her interviews tend to be more interesting to me than others but that's because I'm a serious type of person. I do like to laugh sometimes but Oprah's good for the other times.

Sure, she's disappointed and probably hurt that someone she trusted leaked MS, but it's not the end of the world.
I think the leak fueled the want even more! I know I want her to finish it and will most definitely buy a copy if she does publish it.

i doubt she has seen a lot of disappointment in her career at least. my mom has been trying to get her children's books ideas (which are better than a lot of them out there right now, let me tell you) published for over two years. steph meyer wrote her first “book” and had it published in no time! the following books were just expected of her–a very rare thing for a beginning author! she's the exception, and i'm sure she's aware of that.
this is probably the most painful thing that has happened to her as a result of this. but you know what? she has a pretty good track record of happiness and success since this thing started in 2003. get over it! lol
I do love the chick, but it is way past time to move on. The fans deserve it.

1) I LOVE STEPHENIE MEYER. This is the #1 interview of any of the promos. She is the reason we're all s gaga for Twilight. Best author… ever.
2) Love that she's coming out of hiding and really hoping she has an announcement about something (anything) she has been writing. I'd love MS, but anything else would be great too. I'm reading The Host for the second time around and loving it even more this time.
3) Is anyone else thinking that the sheer amount of “successful woman power” on one stage this Friday is going to KICK A@@?
4) I hope she gives us her take on Eclipse. I'm nervous about it.
5) I wish someone was giving away tickets to see THIS!

Very true. She never even *wanted* to write from what I recall nor was it something she went to school for. She just had a dream and turned it into a book. She's damn lucky, is what she is. I've dreamt of having something published and haven't reached that yet. I handle rejection pretty well.. I'm fine with some people not liking what I write.. but I wouldn't deny fans something that they love. Granted, I would be upset, too, but wouldn't deprive people!

I have a great idea… Stephenie said she will be answering questions posted to TheTwilightSaga.com, which are supposed to be New Moon movie related, and that she will answer those that appear most often.
What if… the site is flooded with questions from fans asking her to pretty please with sugar on top finish Midnight Sun? She has said on her site that right now she really doesn't have a way for fans to contact her. This may be our only chance to communicate how important it is to her.
On a side note, I don't think this is about money to her at all. She's already made plenty, not saying she doesn't ever want to make more, just that her driving force now is purely her love of writing and the devotion of her fans.
Lets prove how devoted we are, that we will never forget MS, and will not rest until it is complete along with a pretty glossy book cover so we can carry it around and be inside Edward's head whenever we want (kinda hard to carry my laptop around whenever I miss him!)

I agree! I admire and respect Steph A LOT, but I think it's time for her to suck it up and MOVE ON. She has inspired so many people, and has changed lives. She promised MS, she can't just break that promise because of a silly incident. Sure, she's heartbroken about the situation, but I think that if she gets over it and finishes MS, she would feel SO MUCH better. And, maybe Sparks_TeamPattz is right…..All this time out of the spotlight of the media could mean some time to finish MS…..and hopefully in the Oprah interview she will reveal that she finished MS
I was once talking to my friend about the possible cancellation of Midnight Sun, and she brought up a VERY good point. My friend thinks that the reason why Steph isn't motivated and doesn't want to finish MS because Breaking Dawn wasn't received very well with a lot of the fans and Stephenie is afraid that MS will dissapoint a lot of people too, so she's afraid to even publish MS because of the possibility of failure with some of the fan base. Remember, this is just a speculation. But if it is true, I think that MS would be extremely successful, because literally all of the people I know who read the 12 chapters of MS on Steph's site said that it was amazing. And if MS was completed it would probably be my favorite book in the series!

On her website she mentions that until she stops being hounded about it and hearing about it, she'll be putting it off indefinitely. I'd worry that asking her about it would just fuel the fire. Just a thought.

Thing is, I don't think that she wants to go back and write Midnight Sun. She was hurt back when it happened but I think her feeling betrayed is trumped by her desire to move on into another creative realm.

Yeah i get SM's point of view…..but i think sometimes when you start these things and have a huge following you really should try to live up to your responsibility to the fan base. No one would even have this in their mind if she hadn't said she was writing from EPOV….she got everyone very excited about it…if she just finishes it she can close the book on the whole saga and bow out nicely…without hurting her readers.
Yeah i agree with you totally…..I think if that's a reason for Steph she is worrying needlessly….BD wasn't well recieved…but a lot of people felt it left out a lot of the E & B interaction and was just too neatly tied up….cutting through all the problems B & E should have faced…to make an easy ending. Midnight sun is adored by everyone i know who has read it. Most people want Edward's POV…he has no voice in the saga…i think that's why so much fan fic is EPOV…people want to hear him
