New Moon Sets a New Midnight Launch Record!

4333_7954490172According to HitFix.com, The Twilight Saga: New Moon may have set a new record for it’s midnight launch.

No one expected “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” to disappoint at the box office, but even Summit Entertainment has to be surprised by the massive opening the sequel garnered from midnight shows across the country.  Distributors are still submitting their grosses but sources tell HitFix “New Moon” has set a new record and may have made as much as $25 million from its midnight launch.

To compare, previous record holder “The Dark Knight” made $18.4 million in over 3,000 theaters, but some of those screens were of the IMAX variety which charge higher ticket prices thereby inflating the overall gross.  Not jumping on the IMAX bandwagon (so far), only makes “New Moon’s” gross even more remarkable.

Opening in 3,514 theaters, “New Moon” could also challenge “Dark Knight’s” single day gross of $67 million, but that seems a tad unlikely based on a predominantly female only fan base.  As for the weekend, the first “Twilight” dropped 49% from Friday to Saturday and the sequel is expected to find a similar drop.  On the other hand, “Dark Knight” dropped only 29% over that span.  Therefore, breaking the acclaimed thriller’s opening weekend gross record of $158.4 million has to be out of reach, but surpassing this year’s champ, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” with $108 million, is entirely possible (at the moment at least).

Shocker?  Not to the Twilight fans.  $25 million at the midnight launch!  That would be amazing.  I know I’m seeing New Moon again tonight and Sunday.

How many times will you see New Moon this weekend?  Can we beat Dark Knight’s $158.4 million opening weekend gross?

[Source: HitFix.  Thanks Morgan!]

UPDATE!  IT’S OFFICIAL!!  Summit Entertainment released that New Moon had the biggest midnight opening of all time ranking in $26.27 million!!

I'm going out of town this weekend, unfortunately (well, not really - grandmas only turn 90 once, you know...) :D

Anyway, with hubby having issues with anxiety & panic attacks, will not be taking him for a little bit longer... probably during the week next week, when school-age kids hafta go to bed early? LOL like that stops them, right?
  • lutz_of_love
Yup Grandmas only turn 90 once and you got to be there to remind her your her favorite! I would but she would always forget. Weird huh? Do you thinks its because I wasn't her favorite? NAH! Im so excited and so is my daughter. we cant wait to watch it tonight! No I dont think it stops them Snowy remember they have more energy than us. LOL
  • SnowyHedwig since 05/09
LOL - I dunno, I hold my own pretty dang good... was up until about 3am, then up again at 6:00 to be at work for 7:30... *shakes head* I think it's finally habit... I stay up all night reading fanfics, so my body is just used to it... :D

  • SnowyHedwig since 05/09
LOL - my now 7yo stopped taking naps at 3. and would go from 7am to 11pm NON-STOP. Wow... what a surprise that she's ADHD, huh? LOL that's probably the main reason I'm good on so little sleep... ;)
  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)
WOW!! What a coincidence! My great grandmother turned 96 this weekend!! We normally do a big luncheon and dinner for her every 5 years (75, 80, 85, 90) but a week before her 95th birthday she broke her hip - so we're doing the big celebration this year.

Thank Edward she is local. We had the luncheon for all the ladies today and I went with 3 hours of sleep and after 3 cups of coffee. The dinner is tomorrow night and I will see NM again with my daughter & a huge group on Sunday. Can't wait - again!
  • SnowyHedwig since 05/09
LOL - we're such suckers, aren't we? My family lives about 3 hours from us - we just got in. Hubby started dozing about half-way, so I took over (thank HEAVENS I had the sense to nap before...) yup. Me. Driving with 3 hours of sleep on the highway, in the dark. With my Twilight playlist (SM's playlists & the soundtrack all burned on to one CD, thank you hubby!) blaring away and me singing and dancing in my seat to try and stay awake... :D
  • klayrahx7

  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
    *waves hand*

After what I saw last night, definitely thought it would.

I feel bad for the fans that went in expecting so much and didn't get it. Sorry guys. I personally LOVED it, best adaptation of a book ever. Honestly, as an HP fan and Nicholas Sparks I have never been this satisfied by an adaptation. I feel like some are being too critical you know? I don't know what else they could have done within the time frame they had. I LOVED ITTTT! I'M SEEING IT THREE MORE TIMES FOR SURE... this weekend!

Spread the New Moon love people tell everyone you know;)
  • Gypsy0531
I agree they could not possibly fit everything into 2 hrs and 10 minutes. Chris Weitz Did an outstanding job.
  • teamtwerd82(billyburkejustis)
yay im in have convinced at least 20 non fans they have to go see it before they judge it im on a roll lol spreading the nm love ;0)
  • lutz_of_love
I haven;'t seen it yet but I will tonight! I cant wait I've heard good things and bad things but Ill be my own critic and like I said earlier even if we dont think its Oscar worthy we'll ALL see this movie more than once because its part of our beloved books
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
    OSCAR WORTHY MOVIES ARE BORRRRRINNGGG.

Seriously... No Country For Old Men? YAWWWWN.

    lmao
  • No country for old men made me want to gouge out my own eyes and rip my ears off. Torture.
  • lutz_of_love
    LMAO your right!
  • hprules4ever
Oscar Worthy movies are not so bad. I mean you seriously can't compare Kirsten Stewart's perpetual stuttering to Nicole Kidman's acting. Or a script like No Country for Old Men to something as simple as this. Sorry, this movie is entertaining but it has nothing that makes it worthy of being honored with at least a nomination, 'cause it's only saving grace, the special effects, have some really tough competition this year.
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
that's just a matter of opinion. I'd much rather watch New Moon, HP, or even Twilight ten times over most Oscar nominated movies. They may be inspirational, or intelligent but I don't watch most movies for those reasons. I watch them to be entertained. I read books when I want to be inspired, or to learn something, I feel like watching a movie for those reasons is just lazy. I'd rather read a book. Not saying others are lazy, that's just my experience with them.

I didn't say it was worthy of a nomination anywhere in my comment? I had only stated that I didn't mind that because I think oscar nominated movies are boring.

Nicole Kidman may be an Oscar winner, but she doesn't always use her "A" game. She was recently named the most overpaid star in Hollywood. Kristen doesn't perpetually stutter either, she only did that in Twilight. I happen to love her other work.
  • breesmom
The Oscars always go to "deep, serious" films, never to blockbusters, with so few exceptions.

I'll be happy if Rob is invited back to present this next year...he really lit up the place for me. Loved seeing his gorgeous face there!
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
umm I wrote this on another blog post but does anyone find a connection between the grey faces.. they all are saying New Moon sucked and they want CH back.

Idk but I'm getting a troll vibe with them, like they're from imdb and coming here to get everyone going.
  • CH has ten PC's running and she's typing like mad!
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
I'm ROFL right now. It's so true.
  • breesmom
Exactly! Good observation! I hadn't thought of that!
  • breesmom
Yes, so true...expectations were so high...I think Chris did an excellent job. Very few things could have been done better. I would not complain, it was very true to the book and that is exactly what us fans asked for.

They only had 50 million dollars and 2 months to film the movie--HP movies cost around 150 million dollars and, I don't know exactly how long it takes them to film most of them but I read once Rob saying that HP:GOF took 11 months of filming! Chris and our gang did an amazing job with their 50 million & 2 months!
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
EXACTLY! HP has a lot more money and time. Summit wants to pump this out. Which makes sense seeing as our lovely vampires and wolfs don't age;) lol
  • hprules4ever
I thought they needed to cut the movie a bit, it was too long and it seemed at one point it would never end. It sucked that all of Edward's lines were extremely corny and that most of the dialogue was so repetitive. : ( But other than that, good movie, better than the first, I'd say, but never will they be as good as the Harry Potter movies.
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
You can't even compare the two. They're nothing of the same. I LOVE the HP series, it was the first series I read! I just think they left A LOT more out in those movies than they did in New Moon, it could have been adapted better. Not saying one is better than the other, I love them both in different ways.

I'm Team Switz all over again when it comes to HP and Twilight.
  • meemomoo
After seeing the movie I'm leaning toward Team Victoria. I would have LOVED to see more of her and that gorgeous red hair!
  • Rocktheboat
Come on lets keep it going!

Come on we are twifans! We can make this happen! People dont worry about car payments, piles of bills, holidays coming up we have records to beat!!!

#1 for midnight showing but weve still got opening weekend record to beat and the big one....highest grossing movie of all time!!!

I think its titanic right now! Seriously Leo's got nothing on shirtless 8 pack in jorts and robward!
  • lutz_of_love
Sorry kids no Christmas this year! All we can eat is popcorn and raisinets! LOL
  • Rocktheboat
    LMAO! :D

hmm i wonder if the free refills still apply for giant Team Edward cup...
  • Marissa_Runs_With_Edward
    *brags*
I got the Mew Moon giant cup!
    hehe.

Anyway, the movie was absolutely amazing!
I disagree with the people who say Catherine should have directed this movie. Chris Weitz did an amazing job, and even though I'm a Twilight Fanatic... the New Moon movie was twenty times better than Twilight. I was laughing at some parts and crying my eyes out at others. AND I WAS ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHED AT THE END! [not giving anything away... (; ] It was worth my money, and planning to see it again! [or maybe 10 more times] LOL!
  • LongLiveTheTwilightSaga
    *raises hand enthusiastically*
I did! I did! I do feel guilty though as i've been unable to see it and won't be able to until (hopefully) next week! :(
I just know it's going to be great though although I wish I hadn't seen all them trailers that Summit released so it would have been more fresh and unknown...
  • Kassielovesthecullens
You'll be okay...even with all the trailers put together..they have nothing on the actual movie.
  • meemomoo
and I'm kinda loving that they went that route (by giving us trailers that were off from the actual movie)
  • zoecullen
just got back [like 5 mins ago] from watching new moon!! woow!!! im not a huge twi-hard but i have read all the books etc and the movie was great!!!!!!!! wayyy better than twilight,, its such a thriller romance with a hint of comedy =] the special affects are fantastic and the fast pace of the movie keeps the audience really entertained,, it was confusing even for someone who has read the books many times tho... but i have to say Chris Weitz was excellent at directing this,, the movie would of been even better if kristen had went to acting school but hey?!! no movies perfect ;) the ending of the movie was sooo good too,, and it ended on a excellent cliff hanger,, i sooo knew that would happen! lol new moon = 5/5 xxx
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
what? I thought Kristen could have carried the movie based on her performance alone. BUt hey that's just my opinion.

    Agreed New Moon was amazing.
  • Gypsy0531
I think Kristen did a wonderful performance. New Moon is awesome. i have no negative comments about the movie. I enjoyed everything. Hubby thought the wolves were too big and was a bit bored until the volturi . But he was able to follow along without me having to fill him in. except of course to tell him that in the books the wolves are big.
taylor was fantastic he really outdid himself.:)
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
Yay! This is why I <3 you Gypsy we agree on so much! :D We're like NMM.org soul mates or something.. or partner in crimes against the raging red sea. LMAO
  • Gypsy0531
lol. Pretty quiet around here. where is the raging red sea? :)
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
LMC caught up with em.. they are goneee baby gone. ;)
  • The Popper
oooo.. i hate to miss juicy stufff.. give me give me!!
  • TeamRotation (Meg1)
I found the wolves to be extremely impressive!! The volturi was, too! Especially Aro and Jane. :)

And I agree... Kristen really outdid herself; she had the look and emotions down pat. And I was continually impressed by Taylor... he was by far fantastic! And I must say their chemistry was pretty sizzle-y!

I'm talking in all exclamation points today! LOL.
  • Gypsy0531
Emily and Sam are so adorable. the way he was kissing her was so sweet so much love. poor bella she could not even look at them because it reminded her of what she and edward had.:(
and yes as i said taylor was fantastic. i'm happy because they were not going to cast him again as jacob. idiots. :)
  • If you expect actual wolves it would seem strange that the pack are so huge but I was afraid they would be 'shrunk' in the movie to pander to a wide audience and I was so pleased they weren't. Just tell your hubby they aren't real werewolves, they are shapeshifters. That makes sense of it.
  • Gypsy0531
when i explained to him thats the way they are in the books he understood. And i mentioned shapeshifters i got one of those looks. :)
  • I love shapeshifters. Vampires fascinate me but shapeshifters are amazing too. I did a massive amount of research on them when I was writing about them and it was so interesting. The things you can do in a story with a shapeshifter character are so cool. I love the wolf pack, they are so cleverly described.
  • bluegoddessgirl
Yeah I thought she did a way better job in this movie than in Twilight. I felt like in Twilight she stuttered way too much and it was really hard to follow. I almost lost hope, that was until I saw the trailer for New Moon. She did a great job in this movie so it must have been Catherine who wanted her to act that way.
  • meemomoo
I thought Kristen blew her Twilight performance out of the water! IMHO she played an addict going through withdrawls to perfection (her expression during Possibilities shows exactly what depression is). Alice could have used some acting classes if you ask me though... "I've never seen anyone so prone to life-threatening idiocy" hated the delivery of that line... All the same, I will be back in the theater today doing everything I can to help New Moon break opening weekend records!
  • CullenCrazed:)
JUST came home from watching it as well! I got lucky and went to a 1:45 showing with only 40 of us in the movie. When I got out there was a HUGE 2 line formed for the next showing all the way to the front door..so THRILLED I went early to cry, laugh, and sigh over the hotness myself.

I LOVED New Moon and cannot wait to watch it tomorrow night! A word to the wise, the collector cup is SOO worth it but if you don't drink pop often ( raises hand here) Cherry Coke is the WORST Idea..drank the whole thing and am so jacked I am like bouncing off my walls like a crazy!!! Sigh....TY CHRIS WEITZ for the awesomeness and ENDING!! ECLIPSE I NEED YOU NOW!!!!
  • love at first bite
i know what you mean i loved the ending even if i didnt wanted to end!!
everybody was claping and everithing it was so great im going to see it again ...
actually i still cant believe i saw it i waited so long and now i cant wait for eclipse! *rob told regise and kelly that in eclipse bella and edward get more closer together so i cant wait to that!!

  • klayrahx7
OMG! so i saw the movie and i thought it was REALLY good!
and im not just saying that because i love new moon but if i didnt read it and i saw it i would have been like thats really good!!
    LOVEEEE THE ENDING!!!
  • love at first bite
believe me i went and it was crazy not only did girls went but guys and couples middle age in their 30s and 40s and where so excited to see it i mean i think it was great no to be only girl and guys actually liking this movies i love it!!!!!!
  • *wave frantically*

i do i do! xD haha.. i knew it new moon will kick some ass this year! xD
    the ending was perfect!
  • buffy5551
COULD NOT HAVE LOVED IT MORE!!!! It was sooooo amazing. It captured everything from the book and added so much more with the dialogue and action. For my money, Mellisa Rosenberg should be Oscar nominated for this screenwriting. I thought it was EPIC. And Chris Weitz blew me out of the water. I was expecting it to be amazing, but he gave me SOO much more.

And speaking of being blown away... can we please talk about the performances people!??! I'm die hard Team Edward but I've got two words... TAYLOR LAUTNER. He is such a MAN in this installment! And no, I'm not talking about his body (though that was pretty remarkable). I can't believe he's only 17 with those acting chops. He was amazing. As was Kristin...

Let me preface this by saying that she's not my favorite person. I've been so irritated by her in interviews and her general lack of enthusiasm in the past but I just have to say that I've been watching her recent interviews and after seeing the film (4 times in 24 hours SQEEE)... she's definitely earned my respect. She also definitely matured to the n-th degree and her performance was stellar in my opinion. And let's not forget...

FRIGGIN ROB. *sigh* Ok, he also blew me away! He was so "mysterious" and stoic in the first film that I think it was more about seeing what you wanted to see in him rather than Edward's/Rob's own personality. BUT, in New Moon I felt like he WAS Edward. He had personality and chemistry with Kristin and the rest of the Cullens that just wasn't there in the first one. He became someone that was realistic and someone that it seemed feasible for Bella to love. (No, I'm not in any way saying negative things about Twilight.I loved it too.) He also majorly grew as an actor. And, I've got to say it... he was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Loving the abs Rob. Loving them. Please have your shirt off at all times. Thanks.

I think that because of the growth in EVERY SINGLE actor in the movie, you have to attribute it to Chris Weitz's directing. I loved Twilight, and Catherine Hardwicke (especially her enthusiasm) but this film really encompassed the book and the characters on so many more levels for me. I know I went on and on and on and I'll stop now, but I just felt so strongly for this film and I had to get it out!! If Chris reads blogs I hope he sees this. I can't tell you how much I appreciate his work on this film. THANK YOU!!!
  • Twilight Space Cadets <3 NM
I watched it twice already.. but I probably won't be able to watch it again for a bit.. /sigh.. Good news is.. my husband agreed to watch it with me again!! He thought it was really really good! Which is good because it's my favorite movie now lol
  • Prislovesteamrobsten

  • CathyCullen(RIP Orange Pants)
    FIRST! Yipee! :)

sources tell HitFix “New Moon” has set a new record and may have made as much as $25 million from its midnight launch.

    HELL YEAH!
  • Not trying to start a riot or anything but i will totally boycott Eclipse (meaning ill wait til it comes out on video and rent it with MY ONE FREE RENTAL) if Summit doesnt hurry up and confirm Breaking Dawn in one way shape or form by the end of this weekend!!!!

Cmon GUYS you see the numbers what are you waiting for???!!!??
  • TaniaJoLuvsEclipse(nmobsessed)
Feel free to start the riot (I'll gladly join you) if Scummit doesn't make an announcement, this very weekend, about filming Breaking Dawn. :D

The numbers are in folks, what are you waiting for?!?!!!!
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
Within the next 6 days they will. ;)
  • Marissa_Runs_With_Edward
    *crosses fingers*
New Moon pretty much gave away the fact that they WILL film breaking dawn. Didn't they? I mean, when they voted for Bella to be turned into a vampire, doesn't that give away that they are going to? LOL!

    Just my opinion...
  • buffy5551
I agree! WHAT IS SUMMIT DOING!?!?!?!? Quit dragging your frigging feet and announce a start date on this project!!! At least start breaking the script down or something! Announce that you'll be making it? Anything? Please?
  • meemomoo
I don't think they're dragging their feet so much as they've probably been super busy! For now, I just want to soak in the fact that New Moon is finally here, Breaking Dawn's announcement will come soon enough!
  • 30yearoldtwifan ☠Team SLADE ☠
Im leaving all! Picking up my daughter early from school to catch my second viewing of NM!!!

    :)

    Hear that SUMMIT!!

    Now... BREAKING DAWN! :)

numbers prove the reviews so wrong :D
i just saw it tonight. it was absolutly amazing.
    kristen's performance was breathtaking.
and taylor did such an amazing job.
  • Marissa_Runs_With_Edward
    I absolutely 100% agree!
Those reviews were nonsense! THE MOVIE WAS AMAZING! I'm very happy with Chris Weitz's work!
    All the actors/actresses were phenomenal!
  • TeamBella76
It won't beat Dark Knights over all record but it does show that the fans love and adore these books. FOR A GIRL FANBASE AND critics hating the movie for dumb reasons WE KICKED A*S !!!

GOOO TWILIGHT FANS WATCH IT AGAIN because I will be !!!
  • 30yearoldtwifan ☠Team SLADE ☠
Oh I dont know about that, Us Twilight fans are VERY passionate, I can def see us leaving The Dark Night in the dust!
  • breesmom
Yes!...and the critics generally don't like blockbuster movies and New Moon is definitely a blockbuster!
  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)
*****THIS JUST IN: 2nd RECORD ABOUT TO BE BROKEN******

The Dark Knight holds the record for the biggest box office day with $67.2M. As of 5pm New Moon had sold over $50M and is expected to reach $70M by the end of the night!! That's more than what Twilight made the entire weekend!! Woo hoo!! We are on the way to a 3rd record breaker - most made in a weekend DK - $159M - we can do it!!! Sorry for all the '!!!' - I'm just so excited!!!!!

I loved it. Saw it this afternoon. All of the shows are sold out for the rest of the night. I bought a ticket to see it again tomorrow. Taylor was esp. good and Kristen actually acted. Everything good except Alice's vision ( cheesy, everyone laughed), but other than that great. The critics can take a hike, they don't understand the concept.
  • meemomoo
what the heck were they wearing in that vision? Definitely one of the things I wish would have been different (that and Rob's slo-mo intro across the parking lot)
  • fantasyfan
Hey memom, I agree. As I understand it, the conventional thinking is that that is what Alice would have them dressed in, like she put Bella in a skin tight blue silk gown for her first hunt as a vampire, not necessarily what they would choose to wear. And that it would be suited to clothing from Edwards time. Really threw me off too. And Rob's slow mo walk made everybody in my theater laugh but I'm not sure why it was funny, embarrassing maybe.
  • TeresaAL
I went to the midnight showing and again today at 5pm, will also see it again tomorrow night with my friend. I would go everyday if I could, but my husband is seriously pissed with me over the amount of times I have gone already! I'm thinking screw him though, it makes me happy.
  • Renie
I saw Twilight again last night at 9pm in the theatre, New Moon at 12.03am and again at 1:40 pm today with girlfriends. I'll go again with my daughter later in the coming weeks. I am crazy? maybe...think it's a temporary thing, not a serious addiction.
My husband laughs and humors me....guess I'm kinda lucky that way.
  • TeresaAL
regards the numbers I actually thing that although there aren't as many men fans, as with Transformers etc, I will have seen this probably four times by the time the weekend is out and I hardly ever go to the cinema at all! There may be loads of people like me ou there doing the same, in which case it WILL beat all known records even without usual amount of boys for blockbuster.
  • Boricuabee
OMG!! same here. I loved the movie. I went today at 8pm and I am going tomorrow with my cousin and I am probably going to see it again... and again.. Love it completely. My husband also is sort is pist but he knows how I am when it comes to Edward Cullen. I told him Edward reminds me of him, which for me is true.

Great movie and it also makes be happy. Actually it goes with all the twilight saga. LOL enjoy the movie again as I am.. LOL.
  • TeamKristen(L)RumpyPumpy
    EASY EASY EASY!

With Rob looking like that onscreen everyone should be seeing this movie. I'm off back tomorrow night.
  • Whitneee (aka Charlie's Angel)
Um yes actually. I'm sure it will.

There were 5,000+ people waiting in line at this mall last night and that's only ONE of like 8594759433 theaters showing this movie...

Twas the most fun i've had in a while :D
  • Kimberlina Dirty Pirate Hooker
Right there with you...at my theater alone there were 10 sold out theaters...that's at least 3,000 people!
  • Whitneee (aka Charlie's Angel)
I'm sure you've been to Northpark...the line was out of the theater and wrapped all through the mall, all the way down to Neiman Marcus...it looked like that kinda line you would see if Rob himself were there signing boobs or something! It was CRAZINESS!!!!
  • Kimberlina Dirty Pirate Hooker
Whoa...Northpark...I don't go there to see movies any time because it's always busy. Sounds like madness!

I went to The Rave in Hurst. They had a Twilight screening at 9 and then we got to stay in our seats for New Moon...no sitting out in a hallway for me!!
  • Whitneee (aka Charlie's Angel)
How was it seeing twilight right before seeing nm? I kinda wanted to watch it right before, to get the "full effect"...

Yeah it was nice cuz we went to the 9:30 screening, so we got to sit in our seats while we waited, which was nice. I can't even imagine waiting in that line last night...
  • Kimberlina Dirty Pirate Hooker
It was interesting seeing Twilight first...they only showed 1 preview before Twilight and that was New Moon. I was on the 2nd to last row in the back and unfortunately the entire back row was tweens...so all they did was giggle and squeal the entire Twilight film. So I don't know if I got the full effect!!
  • meemomoo
I HATED the fact that the kiddos were loud and rude throughout the movie, why don't people have manners anymore? On the bright side, I used them as an excuse (to my husband) for me to see it again at 2:05 Friday. Claimed that I missed half the movie and needed to see it again.
  • angelrain
In Greenwood we had 13 sold out auditoriums in our theater. So much for being a Female fan base, there were lots of guys in our theater.
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
At my theater, we had 13! So I think we have this beat. ;)
  • Daddy_C_4ME
My theater had 18 sold out screens. It was CRAZY.
  • Whitneee (aka Charlie's Angel)
All the love for these books....so exciting!!!
  • 30yearoldtwifan ☠Team SLADE ☠
    Ok COOL!

NOW Summit! What about Breaking Dawn? Hmmm YES, Im greedy LOL Oh and please because I know you (Summit) people lurk here, please consider a NEW SCREEN WRITER for BD. I beg you, we need a change from MR and maybe just maybe BD reviews will be better than NM. I am hopeful DS kept important dialog in Eclipse, even if MR kept it out. I dont understand at this point in the game how MR doesnt know what we want Edward to say. Its all in the books, I am a bit upset certain things were again missed with NM, but Im still going again in a few hours LOL
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
What did you want him to say? A lot of the end of New Moon after they get back from Italy made me cringe a bit. I know Im one of the flew that didn't like his meteor speach. *hangs head* I KNOW I KNOW! I couldn't help it, i usually love everything that comes out of Edward's mouth lol

I say within the next days we'll hear about BD for sure.
  • 30yearoldtwifan ☠Team SLADE ☠
I would have liked some real accuracy from the NM book that's all, I just felt some things could have been said to make Edwards feelings shown a bit better for example, why didn't they keep exactly what Edward said in the book like from the reunion scene? Like actual direct lines from the book. Dont get me wrong I LOVED NM, it was great, the Wolfs, Taylor did great. Kristen freakin ROCKED! Her portrayal of Bella was amazing. The cliff diving.. Amazing. :)
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
I get what you're saying, but maybe when they said the lines it didn't come across the right way. Who knows? lol certainly not us. I'm just happy we're happy.. that's all that matters
    *does happy dance*

I'm kinda sad it's over.. like I don't want my child to grow up and leave home!
  • Samantha!
I'm so happy that we are beating Dark Knight!
I just got back from seeing NM a second time within 24 hours.
    It's amazing...
    :D
I'm so happy. With Twilight, I was expecting something great and was let down.
With New Moon, it was everything I hoped it would be.
    :D :D :D :D
  • RobPattinsonDazzles
after seeing NM, the more i LOVE ROB !!!!! congrats to chris, rob, kristen, taylor and everybody involved in NM.

now i'm really excited to see Eclipse and lots more of hot ROBWARD :)))

but first thing first....REMEMBER ME will rock me on MARCH 12, 2010 !!!
  • CF911 Team Mullet Mofo
Everybody simultaneously cheered and screamed last night when the RM trailer came on. It was awesome.
  • Crackward Effs Bruiseward
Win!!! Did you notice the release date of RM changed back to Feb.?
  • TLG_hasAgreyfaceHUNTINGlicense
I heard you weren't impressed! Ohhh no!
  • Shannonsparkles-Teambreakrecs!
my theater didn't play the RM trailer
  • haha! me too! how could my love for him seems to grow more? xP RM seems like a good movie. have to wait for it. :) support rob!

More excited for this than I was for NM, hope at least this movie won't disappoint
  • Team Hobo Rob is Sexy Rob:)
    OH no

    did you not like NM?
  • xxTeamTywardxx
No:( There were parts I liked, but overall I was disappointed.
  • Team Hobo Rob is Sexy Rob:)
    Oh well that sucks

I havent seen it yet but my bff saw it before and she loved it and let me tell you that I know I will love it because we both are HUGE twilight fan
and if she loves it that means it was amazing
  • Shannonsparkles-Teambreakrecs!
I'm so sad you didn't like it......... seems like almost everyone liked it...... I loved it so much i saw it twice in 24 hours
  • meemomoo
I was undecided the first time I saw it (after the fact I realized I was too much looking for which scenes were there and being overly critical of EVERYTHING). I went back and saw it a second time and was able to more fully appreciate it. Maybe you just need to see it again?
  • xxTeamTywardxx
As if that's even any surprise, Eclipse will make even more, and let's not mention BD.

In Hollywood, it's not quality that counts.

That's half the budget in one night, you really are cheap Summit, and it shows in the movies.
  • sagrario
I think as soon as we have the first accounts for the weekend we´ll receive a communication from Summit confirming Breaking Dawn...they must be counting the dollar and the euros and the yens and the pesos and money in general...
  • breesmom
I sure hope so...I'm anxiously awaiting the confirmation...guess they have to have all the players lined up and signed on the dotted line before they can do that, too. Wonder who the director will be? Guess we will know shortly.
  • mAriE_ImUrCh-Ch-CherryBomb!6/9
awesome!!! knew we'd totally kick some serious arse! muahahahahahaha. ^_^

well i watched it twice in a day and waited for lines for god knows how long minutes ----- that should count for something right?

and i'll watch it again and again for sure. thats how devoted i am as a twitarted. tee hee.. ^_^
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
Hi Marie! Just thought I would say hello before I left. ;) taking parents to see NM today and want to be there early enough. It was great! Take it easy. Will try to get on here or twitter tonight. k? Bye!
  • mAriE_ImUrCh-Ch-CherryBomb!6/9

  • Not that i doubt RPatz or the source citing his words, just im tired of the "maybes" i want SOLID confirmation. I dont want to hear "we are in talks" or "they are considering it" blah blah blah..... We ALL know its about the bottom line _______money______.

Im putting my money in just like everyone else and i want to see this baby complete!

the Money is there so lets see some confirmation Summit! WE WANT BREAKING DAWN. WE WANT BREAKING DAWN!!
  • meemomoo
There's an interview of Wyck Godfrey over at Twilight Lexicon where he kinda talks about Breaking Dawn. Oh wait, here it is...

Ooooooo!!! 2nd on a New Moon Movie post. Alright!!!!!!

    I'm certain it will!!! =)
  • Yes it will! :D
  • JTSTeamSwiss
ahh YEAH! I BET IT DID!

Stats are already saying that New Moon has set record breaking Midnight Sales :o)

    WOOOHOOOO NEW MOON!

seeing it again in less than 3 hours...twice within a 24 hr period!
    i love my life!
  • breesmom
By the way--how early did you end up going last night? was it early enough? Did you end up in a long line?

Really long lines where we went last night. So many people! One of my friends talked our way into the theater early...only stood in line for about 30 minutes, thank goodness! We had so much fun!!!
  • JTSTeamSwiss
hey! actually my friend and i went inside the theatre at 10:45 and we got surprisingly good seats - away from the tweens who were some chatty cathys the whole time EXCEPT when the trailers and NM finally started (we were so relieved)

but today - my friends and i were thinking everyone went last night...nope! WE HAD A 70:3PM showing and showed up at the theatre at 7 bc we finished dinner late...and BARELY had seats (we were 6th from the front so ehhh)! LOL but good thing was we didnt have to wait in line
  • breesmom
Apparently theaters everywhere were filled today. I didn't make it...too tired to do anything! Made plans to see it tomorrow and Sunday.
  • RobismyRomeo (RIMR_)
we have to beat $158.4 million?

I will watch it 3 times this weekend (counting the midnight showing)
  • Jaypat
    Easy Schmeasy.

I'm seeing it 3 times too!
  • Kassielovesthecullens
Oh I wish... I have a toddler, so I won't see it again til probably next week. UGH...parenthood...LOL JK
  • I know what you mean. I still haven't seen it. I am going in a few hours for my first time. I thought staying up til 3 am then getting up at 6 with the 2 yr old would not be fun so I opted out of the midnight show. =( Why can't we clone ourselves for babysitters?????
  • Jaypat
That's exactly what happened to me.
No, not fun this morning at 6 when the kids got up.

COFFEE! LOTS AND LOTS OF COFFEE!
    ;)
  • Jaypat
    LOL!

    Tell me about it!
  • ZoeyRedbird
LOL!, so will I. I saw the midnight showing, I'm taking my sister tonight, and then I'll go again on Sunday.
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
Yep. And I think we can. I plan on seeing it again today and tom. ;D lol How did you like Kiowa?
  • Kimberlina Dirty Pirate Hooker
Same here...here's to 3 times this weekend *clinks glass*
  • breesmom
    Rimr!!!

How did you like our boys!!! (and Kristen)? Didn't they do a phenomenal job! I'm so proud of them all.

Really surprised to see the Remember Me trailer, too--I loved that, perfect!
  • nomesters
Still haven't seen it, but if I see it on Tuesday and I like it I will be seeing it MANY more times. I mean, I saw Twilight at least six times in theaters, and I didn't really think that movie was good. So, if this one is good, and better than the first one, I don't see why I wouldn't see it multiple times.
  • Kassielovesthecullens
My vote is that it's way better than Twilight
  • nomesters
Good! I can't wait. I have heard mixed things about it, some saying the middle part dragged on, some saying it was cheesy....but the majority of people seemed to love it/like it a lot better than the first one.
Good to know! Do you mind telling me what you thought of it w/out spoilers?
  • breesmom
No spoilers, but I really enjoyed it. I thought everybody did a good job. Entirely met my expectations. Will go see it again, and again, and again!
  • nomesters
Aww, I am glad you enjoyed it! I can't wait to see it.
  • Amandazzle
There were four theaters playing it last night at 12 at the theater i went to. Actually, maybe more because there was the other side? Idk =) Either way, they were paccccked. We showed up at 10 and there were already people waiting lol =)
  • CoryEly
I saw the movie and liked it!!!! It's awsome... I'm going to see it Monday again... I'd go everyday if I could!!!!!! =D
  • Jennifer *Team Nov. 20th!!!*
Went to the midnight showing last night! LOVED the movie! I'm so happy they stayed as true to the book as possible. Everyone did an amazing job! I will be going to see it again this weekend!
  • TeamEshirtless
Holy crap it was amazing. it was perfect. nothing could have been better. i wouldnt change a thing, 100% to the book!! so good!
  • ZoeyRedbird
I couldn't agree more. They stayed so true to the book. I was so excited last night. I got 3 hours of sleep and had to come to work today, but I'll be back at the theater tonight!!! :)
  • kgish
All i know is that Summit better damn well make Breaking Dawn at this point, if they ever want to make another dime. They better send out an announcment NOW that they are going into production with it or at the very least the SAME actors are contracted to play in it!!!! YOU HEAR THAT SE... GET THE BALL ROLLING!!!!
  • FTW - Bring on Remember Me!
Yay! Thanks to everyone who went and saw the midnight showing last night! I'm so glad I contributed my little $8 lol. Now I'm ready to see the weekend numbers

EDIT: Is anyone else insanely tired?! After last night I can hardly keep my eyes open. I'm running on 2hrs of sleep and trying so hard not to fall asleep so I can watch Rob on Ellen in an hour. I know the clips are up on the site, but I like seeing him on tv :)
  • breesmom
I actually got to sleep at about 8 this AM. Woke up to my sister calling at noon to find out how the show was. Debating on rather to go back to the theater and see New Moon again tonight or just rest up and go in the morning.

How much coffee will be required to get me up and going today?

    LOL

I think my adrenaline is all spent up from yesterday....
  • FTW - Bring on Remember Me!
    I'm going back tomorrow morning :) I can't wait.

It's so dead around here, I'm sure everyone's exhausted. I'll have to take a nap today just so I can stay up and watch Rob/Kris/Tay tonight on Kimmel
  • breesmom
Well, I have my DVR set to record Ellen and Kimmel...now if I can just get up off the couch, put my laptop down and get up and take a shower maybe I can get going...not real optimistic about that, at the moment, though!
  • Hmmmm...not too many around right now. Gee...wonder where everyone is? LOL

Midnight showing----absolutely AWESOME!!! So glad I was able to "contribute to the cause." ;o)

    The theater where I saw it had a 12:01, 12:02, and 12:15 showing....plus a 3 a.m. showing as well.

Watched Twilight on the big screen beforehand...the first time I'd seen it on there. We weren't going to watch it at first, too scared to lose a place in line for NM seating, but this theater franchise was allowed those that viewed Twilight to have first dibs at seating for NM. We had AWESOME seats for Twilight and didn't have to move an inch for NM...LOVED IT!!!

Just got back a bit ago from seeing it the 2nd time, so once again my money was well spent. :o)
  • breesmom
Must tell you, I thought that Jake and the wolf pack were great--both in human and wolf form. CGI wolves were awesome. Wolf scuffling, interaction was classic!

Although Edward will always be my personal favorite, they were not kidding when they all said this was Taylor's movie...WOW...he really took control! Everything about Jacob was done well...
  • Yea!!! It's so good to hear that you enjoyed their parts!! I agree completely. Watching the wolf scuffle, all I could think was "This is amazing...absolutely amazing!" The CGI of them was unbelievable! It means a lot to hear your thoughts on Taylor. I was so proud of him and just in awe of his acting and the emotion that he was able to portray throughout the whole movie. You can tell he put his heart and soul into this and did not want to disappoint by any means.
  • breesmom
I am really proud of all three of the leads---Kristen, Rob, and Taylor. They really have BECOME Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Absolutely amazing. I could not imagine anyone else in their roles even though, when I first read the books, none of them were who I pictured their characters being...they have each inhabited their roles so beautifully... I am truly amazed!

    Breakout stars all three!
  • Oh, you're not kidding!! I thought Kristen's acting was absolutely fantastic in this, and Rob...never fails to deliver. They all know their roles, their characters, and as you said, have become their characters. It makes me even more excited to see it all again in Eclipse...which when you think about it will not be long at all! :o)
  • Wolfi ♥(TEAM LEAH)♥
I LOVED THE WOLVES...they were brilliant!... half of the movie theater was full of guys..and they whistled when TAy took his shirt off...and when paul Fursplode they were all the guys were like WOO!..awesome!..lol
but the whole theater was team wolf, fave part was the muffin scene, well everything leading to that scene...am sooo proud of taylor he was brilliant!. K/T chemistry was fantastic, taylor made me cry when bella was leaving him to go italy, when he Said PLEASE for me!!.. i got some issues with the ending but i'll get over it!!..lool..loved it tho!
  • So you had issues with the end too? I didn't like how he left in wolf form. To me, that's what Eclipse is about. I was looking forward to Bella turning around and just seeing his face heart broken and him pained for her. I didn't want my last glimpse of him to be in wolf form. I feel him leaving in wolf form is meant as a last resort, wanting get out, wanting to get away, like in Eclipse..."I pushed my legs faster and faster, leaving Jacob Black behind me." Now it's lost the effect since we saw it done in this movie. *sigh* Why can't we ever just be happy that these have been made into movies and not sit and pick apart? LOL We're all so bad at times aren't we? ;o)
  • Wolfi ♥(TEAM LEAH)♥
ohh my gosh that is exactly what i was thinking!!...can you read my mind from all the way there..lool
the same line came to my head while i watched that part, i was like nooo JAcob doesn't give in to wolf form in NM.. its when she breaks his heart again in eclipse!.
in the book she saw his sad face, and she vowed to make him smile again, but she cant see that expression while his in wolf form!..
i know its never enough, there is no director out there that we will make everyone happy, there is always something missing, some emotions are easier to write than seeing them!!...lool..we are soo judge mental at times..lool,
  • I LOVE how "wolf girl" minds work together!! JIMH felt the same way too, like that's not the way it's supposed to end..he's not supposed to be a wolf..she's supposed to look back and see his face and that he's brokenhearted.

Yep..us fans are the worst sometimes, aren't we? LOL Even with parts that could have been reworked or added, I still believe CW did a fabulous job and made so many happy and proud of his accomplishment!
  • 1-10 Wolfi??
  • Wolfi ♥(TEAM LEAH)♥
    was looking for you!!

i loved all the wolf pack scenes..they were great!!...actually loved all JAcob scenes, i thought taylor owned NM!.. Kristen was brilliant her chemistry with JAcob was spot on!.perfect!..she has improved even my mum who doesnt know her, or read the books said..kristen is a great actress!..the beginning was a bit too slow, and E/B didnt look very happy to me. Alice talking bout her vision too cheesy, maybe by showing us her visions it would have been better!.. rosalie looked awful!...
all in all i have to agree with you 8/10
  • Wasn't that weird how the E/B scenes, except for the scenes in the end, were strained to the point of discomfort? It literally looked like Rob was in pain every single time he was around Kristen.
Then came Taylor, the breath of fresh air. But by the time they got to Volterra, when edward should've been happy that the love of his life was alive, he was still depressed. Come on Rob. SMH.

So glad Taylor was so amazing. He was brilliant, as was Kristen.
  • Wolfi ♥(TEAM LEAH)♥
excatly, i had to explain to my mum nd brothers why edward looked like he was going to cry all the time!...i didnt see the happiness..i mean in the book she says i had the best summer of my life and then this is the day after summer break..but yahh!!..Ed nd bela are not that tense in the book!!..the ending i didnt like the way Jacob left as a wolf..like i told JMP i thought that was more for eclipse when Jake gives in to his wolf form cause he was hurting too much, in Nm bella is supposed to see his hurt across his face and vow to make him smile again!!..bt i like the voting scene wen bella tells Ed to Shutup!!..mike nd eric scenes were hilarious..humans were totally funny!!
  • I LOVED when Bella told Edward to shut up to pieces. Thanks for reminding me. Haha.

I loved the Eclipse triangle in NM lol. I can't wait to see that scene again!
  • Guest
Hey MNP! I've missed you. It's Howlin' Half. My other account got deleted so now I had to use this. Whats up wolf girrlll? How'd you like the movie? I thought it was amazing ;)
  • HEY!!!! WOW!! It has been like forever!! That stinks about your other account, but glad you were able to create another one.

I really liked the movie. There were some scenes that I was really looking forward to that were not addressed or were changed around a bit, but overall..I was VERY pleased with it.

Taycob was absolutely AMAZING, and I was so proud to have been there representing him and rooting him on. Like so many probably are, I am already ready for it to come out on DVD that way I can watch it whenever and watch certain parts over and over. ;o)
  • Guest
I know right! I've missed you. *gives a big wolf hug to Jake MNP* Yes, Taylor definitely proved he can act well and I felt so glad to see the ol' gang on the bigscreen xD. I know, right? I can't wait till it comes on dvd and then Eclipse will be coming out soon. ;)
  • Aww..thanks for the hug! :o) You're not kidding! His acting ability...WOW!! If anyone ever doubted him before this, they were SO proven wrong by this movie. I love the fact that we'll have this to get us through until Eclipse, plus somewhere in that span we will get the DVD. We're going to get spoiled all at once. LOL ;o)
  • Guest
Taylor brought it. And he nailed it so well. Jacob's character has so much more to it because of Taylor (not that I didn't like Jacob before though.) Kristen's acting abilitys have gone up and I think Bella has become better as a result. Protective Edward is good as well and Rob seems comfortable in this movie. And I'm so glad we'll have the DVD soon and then Eclipse as well. Spoiled works for me ;)
  • I have never been prouder to have been an original wolf girl then when I saw Taylor's performance and how he IS Jacob Black! I always knew he could do it, but with this performance he put to rest any doubts that others had.

I agree completely about Kristen's acting. Fabulous! She annoyed me so badly in "Twilight" and almost made it painful to watch, but with this one....GREAT!! Goes to show what experience and a change in directors can do for a film.

LOL..I am SO with you in your thinking of the DVD! I want it now so I can sit in my own house, give full attention to it, and not have any distractions by those around me. ;o) Spoiled definitely works for me too! LOL
  • Guest
I agree with you 100% Taylor can act his shirt off when he portrays Jacob Black. I'm so glad he was so committed to playing him. Can't wait for what more he can do with Jakey.

Kristen was awesome in this, I had a lot of vices with her in "Twilight" soley because I noticed she'd constantly blink in that movie and I found that odd. This one she seems a lot more older then Twilight, which (infact she is) but older as an actress as well.

I know! *Runs over to movie theater and demands the film for New Moon* Haha xD
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
Hi JMNP! "waves" How's it going? I am right here. just for a bit. leaving to see NM again with my parents. ;) lol
  • J-BAG!!!!

WE DID IT!!!!! THE WOLVES HAVE ARRIVED!!! LOL

Headed for the 2nd viewing, huh? LOL Love it! I saw it again earlier this morning, and appreciated it even more. Are your parents Twilight fans? I hope they enjoy it! :o)
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
They don't read the books, but they were interested in seeing NM. Had to show them Twilight first so they can kind of know what is happening. I hope they like it too. :) I know I loved it. I just wish they would of made some of the scene a bit longer and not cut from one scene to the next so quickly. But overall, it was great! I really felt for Jacob. Taylor did an excellent job! He did not dissappoint us.
  • So you thought the same thing too about the scenes? I did as well. I really enjoyed what was there, but my cousin and I said the same thing on the way home...the scenes seemed to jump quickly from one to the next without being played out as long as some could have been. Because of that it made it hard at times to get that "emotional" connectedness like you did in the book.

Still very happy with it though, and I actually felt when I saw it the 2nd time that some of it seemed played out a little more than what I thought originally. Oh man... I can't tell you HOW proud I was of Taylor! The scene in the truck, I kept thinking to myself, "He is only 17, and he is absolutely, unbelievably amazing!"
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
Yeah overall it was great! I read here that alot of people said the same thing too. so i wasn't the only one. thank goodness. He IS UNBELIEVABLE! I cannot wait til Eclipse. He is going to be just as perfect! ;)What did you think of the music placement? I love the soundtrack, but I couldn't feel the score and it seems they put music everywhere.
  • When the soundtrack came out I wasn't feeling it at ALL! Then the other night I watched the live streaming of the premiere, heard some of the songs, and knew I had to get it because I was starting to get a feel for some of them in the movie. Now after hearing them in the movie, seeing where they fit, it really helps. Not completely...still some I'm not 100% sure about, but from before until now, I do like it. You know, usually I can pick up on a musical score in a movie so well, but this one was hard, and that might have been because there was so much music in it already...I just kind of looked past it. I don't know. I will for sure be buying the score, but it just didn't stand out to me like so many others normally do.
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
I know what you mean. :/ There was just too much music overpowering some scenes. I loved the songs, but didn't care too much for the score. I hate to say goodbye, but need to leave now. Talk to you later. "hugs"
  • TeamRotation (Meg1)
I saw it today, JMNP! Yay!!!!!!!!! hehe. OMG, work SUCKED! I was there for only 4 hrs. and I was so freakin' antsy!

It wasn't packed either (thank God).. it was just full! And I LOVED IT!

I didn't contribute to the midnight showing, but I did do my part for the opening weekend! I might see it again this weekend, not sure yet.. will depend when my mom wants to go see it. I might try and make my younger brother go, too, since he's the one that got me started on the books.
  • YEA!! I'm so glad you got to see it!I can't wait to see the box office numbers and earnings for the weekend showings. You know it has to be ENORMOUS!!! I say do a showing with your mom and then with your brother that way you get at least two more showings out of it. ;o)

So glad you enjoyed it!! I can't get over how Taylor just delivered the goods!! He was absoutely fabulous! There's no way anyone can doubt his realm of abilities after seeing this movie. I was soooo proud of him! :o)
  • TeamRotation (Meg1)
Taylor just lived the role that's how good he was. But of course, Rob and Kristen were phenomenal, too. Those three will definitely be going places! T/K's chemistry and R/K's chemistry was just palpable.. awesome! And how about that almost kiss... that was pretty damn hot for an almost kiss. lol.
  • *GASP* The almost kiss!!! AAAHHHHH!!!! WOW!!! Was that not THE hottest almost kiss you have ever seen? If the almost one was this hot, imagine the real one!! :o) ILA and I were saying that we can't wait for the DVD so we can keep rewatching that scene. LOL
  • TeamRotation (Meg1)
Rewind, put on endless loop, sit back and enjoy. LOL.
  • teamCharlieB=)
Summit confirmed it made 26.27 million!!
  • TeamKristen(L)RumpyPumpy
Oh my god, that is incredably. Us fans are amazing!
  • Jaypat

  • I ♥ TheCullenBoys ♥s Rob! ♥
    Waving hands.. I knew it!!

Us TwiHards mean business plus we love our TwiCast!!

I stood in line for 3 1/2 hours and sat on the cement most of the time

Waiting.. My a$$ hurts!! That's dedication!!!

    Lol!
  • breesmom
I think that, with the worldwide totals so far--Summit has made back much more than the 50 million dollars--already--that they put into making the movie.
  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)
Did you see my update I put above? I guess I should pass it to you so that you can update properly....

*****THIS JUST IN: 2nd RECORD ABOUT TO BE BROKEN******

    Yeah, it did!!
  • I have an Etsy shop where I sell Twilight inspired ornaments, but the reason I am writing is not for me but a fellow Etsier. Anyone looking for an AMAZING replica of the dream catcher Jacob gives Bella, need to check out her handmade work:
    http://burningjewels.etsy.com
I received mine last week and loved it SO much, I purchased a second for my best friend.

I haven't seen NM yet, my hubbie and I going Sunday morning. :)
  • bella7
Probably. It was crazy last night!! And I live in a small town!!
  • pirates98
yup, saw the midnight showing last night. Will try to go again after work today if tix are avail. Will try to see it on IMAX at some point too
  • star1402
I'm going to do my part and see it again, and again, and again. I had to sit in the third row since we only showed up and hour early. I didn't get to see Twilight in the theaters so i didn't know when to show up. But I saw it and it was soooo good. So excited to see it again.
  • TmSwitz/Museitis
    WOOOOHOOOOO WE ROCK GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    DUDE WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!!
So now will u announce BD Summitt!!!!!!!!!!
  • cclore ~ Team CW for BD
I don't know about everyone else, but there were quite a few men in the audience last night and I'm from a small town. So I'm not gonna rule out an overtaking of The Dark Knight!

And if that happens, Summit better be confirming BD the very next day!
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
I agree with you. BD NEEDS to be announced! And made into 2 movies filming back to back. It is the only way.
  • Kimberlina Dirty Pirate Hooker
I'm dragging my husband by the ear to go see it tomorrow with me...I know he's excited about it, he just doesn't want to show it!
  • cclore ~ Team CW for BD
My son went with me last night. He sat with his girlfriend and her mom sat with me. Because God forbid if he was seen with me. LOL
  • TeamRotation (Meg1)
I was surprised at the variety when I went this afternoon! There were old men, younger guys, boys, and then all varieties of women. It was very diverse! So I wouldn't rule it out. :) Plus, you know girls are going to drag their husbands or boyfriends along with them anyway. hehe.
  • cclore ~ Team CW for BD
I was going to drag mine but I lucked out when my son's girlfriend's mother turned out to be as big of a fan as me. My hubby was actually a little disappointed that he didn't get to go. LOL
  • breesmom
My son seemed disappointed that I hadn't got him a ticket to go along with me and my friends, too. It never entered my mind that he would want to go to the movie with a bunch of women! Guess he'll go today...still first day out, right?
  • cclore ~ Team CW for BD
That's right; it still is! Send him on! LOL
  • breesmom
Oh yes, he's going! Bet he will end up liking it, too...even if he hasn't read the books. I think he will like the wolf and the Volturi action.
  • TeamRotation (Meg1)
We just run into twilight fans everywhere, don't we? lol. Aww, poor hubby. hehe.
  • Jaypat
I saw quite a few men at New Moon too!

Plus New Moon was rated PG 13, much wider audience than Dark Knights R rating.

I HOPE New Moon breaks the record, but it'll be tough.

I bet something will be announced next week.
  • cclore ~ Team CW for BD
I'll keep my fingers crossed and pray that you're right about an announcement.

How could they let another huge money maker slip through their fingers?

    That would be crazy!
  • breesmom
Yes, quite a few men where I saw it, too. Not all of them there with their girlfriends and wives, either. They seemed to enjoy it just as much as the ladies, as far as I could see.
  • cclore ~ Team CW for BD
Yeah, same here. Matter of fact, I saw several groups of teenage boys with no girls. They looked to be 16 or 17. So I'm not gonna count out New Moon yet.
  • Is this numbers in only USA or all over the world?
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
    Yea they're just US alone:)
  • sagrario
and wait for the weekend...this is going to explode...people here in spain that went on wednesday, thursday and today are repeating this weekend i can tell you that....
  • kisara
WOW... It's awesome i'm watching it again..
  • teamtwerd82(billyburkejustis)
i live i a small seeside town and at our local nationwide cinema it was so packed most of the county were at mine and i know alot will be going again so i really think its gonna be a record breaker because most peeps loved it even the twi guys that went x
  • This may be the only time I'm glad tickets in my area are $11.50 lol every little bit counts in the effort to break the dark knights record. I will see this movie at LEAST 3 more times not counting tonite's show. Highest amount for midnite showing? Yeah....never doubted that.

Ok....I'm really leaving the site now. I'm seriously afraid of spoilers being posted lol
  • XHELLOKITTY99 Miami Coven Beta
Hey my Chaske lover have U seen the movie? I hope there is a part in there that stay branded in your brain cause it did 2 me... Still dreaming with that scene... email me xhellokitty99x@hotmail.com
  • Noooooo I haven't seen it yet. I'm heading out to the theater rite now!!! I can't wait!!!
  • Guest
I was really nervous about how New Moon was going to be but already half way into the film I adored it. Chris did a great job with all the action parts, knew when to make scenes solemn and a tear jerker, but also had a lot of funny parts in it.
  • leahcyr
158 million? that seems like a lot... but 25 million for one showing alone is insane..
i plan on seeing new moon tmrw with some friends.. one of which saw it last night like me.. sooo, idk.. i plan to see it as many times as possible, if someone i know even mentions going to the theatres to see it, i will be going with :)

my mom even asked me if i would take her to see it when i go home for christmas :) ..needless to say, i got pretty excited.. family tends to turn their heads when i bring up twilight lol
  • Jenn8950
I went and saw the midnight showing, it was great! I'm in charleston, sc. we had 6 theaters in the place showing NM and all were sold out! I plan on going tomorrow night as well. I can't wait until Eclipse comes out! We need BD, if its not made it would be dumb. You can't end it with Eclipse! So much good stuff happens in BD!
    I <3 NM
  • scbella
I'm in Charleston, SC too, although I will be seeing New Moon tonight for the first time!
  • Jenn8950
It was so good! I loved it. My husband of course makes fun of me b/c I have been so excited for it to finally make it to theaters! lol
I enjoyed it, and have to go with the friends tomorrow night. which i am okay with going twice
  • MyJBAG(AgeIsJustA#Baby)
I loooved the movie. There were a couple of things I didn't like, but oh well. it's okay. I saw it last night and plan on seeing it again today and tom! ;D lol

  • radioannouncer
This goes to show never under estimate the power of women. Hello Summit, what are you waiting for, we need a greenlight for Breaking Dawn, we understand that you need more numbers over the weekend, is 26.27M enough to give it a go.
  • Name
i went last night and i'm going again in a couple hours, and then probably again sometime later this weekend
  • sarahcanflyy
That is so amazing!! I wish I could see it again this weekend, but unfortunately won't be able to see it again until next weekend at the earliest.
  • Twilight887

  • katieginnc
going to see it 3 times this wkend. am w/ above...a twisaga junkie. can't help myself. going tonight & my daughter already called to say it was fantastic & would give no spoilers. we twihards know new moon tickets sales are going to hit the roof! go robsten & team edward all the way.
  • ElianaNoelle
I LOVED the movie. Although the ending threw me for a bit of a loop. When Bella had her accident & Jacob took off his shirt, everyone including me was like d@mn or whoa or I'm a cougar now...lol. I was not expecting myself to react as I did. I hope I get to see it again this weekend. Definitly a piece of entertainment that lived up to my expectations.
  • Daddy_C_4ME
CONGRATULATIONS FANS!! WTG! Go see it again!
  • Lol last night, I went to see the midnight show. I really enjoyed it. At my theater some girls brought a beach ball and we were playing with it passing it around while the commercials were on lol. But omg lol they screamed so much, they made my ears bleed, it was insane. To be honest, I regret watching the spoilers because I already knew what was going to happen. Next time no more spoilers for me lol. Overall, NM was great and definitely better than Twilight. For those that haven't watched it yet, you will enjoy it. The ending was AMAZING :) Seeing it again tomorrow w00t! Oh they also showed the preview of Remember Me. So looking forward to that movie!

Ps: Rob and Taylor so hot that I melted!!!
  • Riss<3Twilight-TeamBELLA
MY THEATER IS COMPLETELY SOLD OUT FOR TODAY! THIS IS INSANE I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU GUYS AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE NEW MOON.

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE, and it's not just because it's Twilight. I just thought it was THAT great:D
  • teamtwerd82(billyburkejustis)
mine sold out till monday how incredible is that ?so thrilled its doing so well
  • bellalamb
My boyfriend's still in denial. He even works at the theater in our town but he hattesss Twilight so much that his excuses for it doing so well are either, "No it didn't actually do that well, you're lieing." "All the fans are girls and all dragged there boyfriends there." (I seen aLOT of guys with no girls there haha) or "There's more people in the world than there was when Star Wars and stuff came out, that's why more people saw it." (which does NOT make sense. haha)

Everyone HAS to go see it at least two more times this weekend. We need it to be the highest weekend ever! We NEED Breaking Dawn. :D
I wanted to see it again tonight but it's already sold out for the next two nights! (He's in denial about that, too. P:) I knew I should have bought pre tickets for this weekend, too. :(
  • bellalvr34
WOO HOO!!! LET'S GO NEW MOON AND BREAK SOME RECORDS!!!
  • Name
Hell yeah!!! Let's see NM as many times as possible and set a new record for the wkend box office... They say it can't overtake Dark Knight.... I think they are WRONG!
  • TeamPattzJaw
If we all go and see it more than 5 times this weekend, we may beat The Dark Night! :D deal? :P
I mean come on... BREAKING DAWNS FUTURE LIES IN OUR HANDS PEOPLE....

  • claracitti
    New Moon the best choice;)
  • kerbear585
of course it did! it was the best movie that i have seen in a long time. i am going this weekend and next weekend too with a different friend each time cuz they can't get time off work to go at the same time, so i guess i will take one for the team and see it 3 times. lol. no big stretch i was going again even if it was by myself. lol
  • Eva5669
2 times at opening weekend and another one next week when things slow down a bit...

Naturally it was to be expected to hit high numbers!!!

P.S. Care anyone to advise it this AVATAR is taken as well in order to change it , so I won't be spanked again for using a free avatar?
  • OCDJenni
That's awesome! And heck yes, we all can break that Dark Knight record - c'mon guys. YOu know it's worth another ticket....it sure was for me :)
  • MillyPattinson - Flippy (L)
i JUST got back from the cinema.... AND OMFG OMFG OMFG BEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.
i wont go into my review of it... ill do that on the other post.... if it decides to let me, its being annoying at the minute.

Im not at all suprised about this... AT ALL. It was so epically good.
  • certifiabletwinut
I just saw New Moon this afternoon and I took a good look around the theatre - there WERE men there: young, middle-age & even older men (with a woman, of course) Maybe, just maybe it'll gross MORE than Dark Knight. I've visited this site a long time now but finally thought it time to join in.... LOVED LOVED LOVED NEW MOON!!! Can't wait to go see it again!
  • bluegoddessgirl
I know it was so weird because there were a lot of guys in my theatre too..I was like wow!
  • twihard17
oh my godd!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS NEW MOON THAT IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM SO PROUD!!!!! =DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD i swear i am bursting inside with all my excitement for new moon and i just wanted to say again TALYLOR LAUTNER OWNED THAT MOVIE i am 100% team edward but taylor was just awesome! im going to see new moon again at 7 and then saturday and sunday too! YEYEYEYEY NEW MOON oh but i just wanted to say that i was actually really disappointed that they took out the part where charlie calls billy black and starts yelling at him after bella and jacob got in a fight and charlie was worried she was going to start slipping back into a depression....that part was one of my favorites and they didnt put it in :( hopefully theyll put the full version on the dvd becuz that would make my LIFE =))))))))))))
  • MrsSpunkRansom
Obviously we knew this would happen.

And I think New Moon was incredible. CW stuck to the book perfectly, and nailed it. The only thing that bugged me was the little bit of cheesy-ness and the pacing of the movie. They could've edited better. but regardless, it blew me away. Waaay better than Twilight.

Chris, I bow down to you.
  • bluegoddessgirl
I went and saw it today at noon time like I mentioned about a week ago. It was so great because no one was making a bunch of noise during the film. Also there weren't a bunch of people crowding and I didn't have to wait in a line, but it was raining hard outside lol. Something that annoyed me was that someone in the audience yelled out something very rude about Bella near the end of the movie. I think they may have been joking, but I thought it was disrespectful and I was just like "what?!" Besides that it was great. The movie was above my expectations and I loved the CGI and the acting had improved majorly. I'm so excited to go see it again tomorrow with one of my friends in the morning.
  • ElsdE
Well im a twi guy i guess haha ive read all the books a few times my GF got me intto them cause ive always loved books but for new moon.... WOOOOW it was soooooooo good so much better than twilight, but i know i like twilight for what it was... i think Chris Weitz captured the book perfectly the beiging is the coolest sh*t with the moon and the quote from shakespeare uhh perfect..... i knew it would do really good at the box office my theater was completley sold out....i bet itll make sooo much after the weekend. 1 word for NEW MOON AWESOME:)
  • pinktwilightlover
Thats great! I'm hoping it will get on the cinema top list in Norway, i think it's a good chance!

I wan't to watch it again and again and again.. but.. i'm broke.. or worse, i have like minus in my budget.. well well, i'm reading the book again and waiting for the movie :D

It was the best movie. It was true 2 the book and the acting was tops :D. I enjoyed watching it alot. It was worth waiting in line, the movie was all I could think of. the warewolf were awsome, they did such a great job w/them. I liked the part were the teachear ask Edward to reapeat the lines that Romeo thelll Juliet in the movie. When he spoke them I was like omg those word were meaningful. overall I loved it n i'm going 2 go see it agan.
  • Kittypurr
As soon as they let us in for the 12:01 showing people were rushing in to get a good seat, then when Taylor took of his shirt litterally the room was full of screams it was funny lol. Still team Edward.

Yeah, I know this is my same comment from the earlier post, but I'm f**king sick and didn't feel like typing it all again and trying to use my fog-ridden brain to think of something new and original to say! So there ya have it! LOL!

Ok, I am sooooo sick right now, but I just had to come on here and put my 2 cents in. (Of course I would f**king get sick on NEW MOON WEEKEND! dammit *coughs....blowes nose and grabs head in agony* I went last night to the midnight show, sicker than shit and was so giddy when I left that I forgot I was sick for a little while!!! I LOVED IT........THOUGHT IT WAS DONE EXCEPTIONALLY WELL......THE WOLVES WERE FORKING AMAZING!! I thought KStew did an amazing job of bringing the despair (about a gazillion percent improvement from the first movie) and I actually kinda fell for Jacob a little.......just a little! Then Edward.........OH EFFING EDWARD! I actually said out-loud, quietly, but out-loud, involuntarily, "OH MY GOD" as they paused the camera on his obliques-V holy sh*t! Anyhoo........I'm off to pass out from the haze of sickness that surrounds me to rest up and go back tomorrow night AND Sunday too! (I just might not be alive on Monday) LOL!
  • frannieh15
I just got back from watching new moon, and i waited in line for approximately 2 hours. but i have got to say it was WELL worth the wait. new moon was an amazing movie,i litterally do not have enough words to sum it all up, or even begin to describe how much love it have for it. all of the actors did such a fantastic job. i say we give them a round of applause.
it was just utterly incredible. it leaves me speechless.
    :x
  • teamjacob888
Just got back from watching New Moon! It was amazing and worth the wait! They all gave great performances, but Kristen and Taylor were outstanding! It would've been nice if they took more time with the development of Bella & Jacob's relationship. It felt so rushed, but Chris did an amazing job sticking to the book for the most part. I would love for him to do Breaking Dawn. Loved Loved the movie...going to see it again! Go Team Jacob!!!
  • TeamRobsten1304
Does anybody remember what scene "Meet Me on the Equinox" played during?

  • Crackward Effs Bruiseward
I have every intention to seeing this movie again at precisely ten am. I'm hoping no one will be there that early and I can get a good seat. So everyone else in town better be hungover from Friday night parties and keep away from any theater in a 25 mile radius.
  • Shannonsparkles-Teambreakrecs!
I went for the second time this morning at 11 am and the theater was not even half full. But my roomate said that tonight the showings were all sold out...... So maybe everybody is just doing evening showings. But my matinee saved me two bucks

  • Yah she will be here for a week for thanksgiving. Which means endless Twilight teasing for the next 7 days, yipi!

The Shamanties were a hit! There was talk of us all doing it for Eclipse, but I just don't know if I will have the b*lls to do it. LoL
  • TLG_hasAgreyfaceHUNTINGlicense
