New Moon wolfman Taylor Lautner, who plays the super buff Jacob Black, has landed a stunning new role that promises to catapault his career to new heights.
Nikki Finke exclusively confirms Taylor will be playing the lead role in the Paramount screen adaptation of the hugely popular Max Steel, which began as a series of action figures in the ’90s. The franchise has since branched out into comic books, TV shows and animated DVDs.
Paramount has confirmed to me exclusively that it’s hired 8-pack-abs Taylor Lautner for the lead in Max Steel, instantly creating perhaps the next young big action star.
This is the Joe Roth-produced project based on the hugely successful Mattel property that’s an international bestseller. The movie will receive a major push planned as Mattel raises its stateside presence with the Paramount release. I’m told Max Steel will be a four-quadrant popcorn movie in the spirit of Iron Man about a 19-year-old extreme sports junkie recruited by a secret agency after an accident infects his body, leaving him with superhuman powers.
Paramount hopes to capitalize on the franchise with a blockbuster live-action movie in the vein of the recent GI Joe and Transformers movies, so this role comes as a huge win for Taylor as they are putting a lot of trust into his star-power to pull in crowds for a big-budget flick.
We’re going to be seeing a LOT more of Taylor in the future!

I think I became a Taylor fan when I saw the smirk he gives to Rob in the school parking lot. He plays that a** side of Jacob just as well. And at the end, when he's seething, “Don't you speak for her” and “Get out of my head.” His delivery is spot on, just like the “run away” line. My God, he was like a force of nature in that last scene. Love that boy!! He's gonna make those “fire and ice” scenes so much darn fun to watch. Definitely rewind material.
And I hate the action films nowadays, all sequels from the 80's with the worse scripts around. But you better believe I'm watching this film. He'd probably make me love the Eric Bana version of Incredible Hulk too lol.

lol, I wouldn't worry if I were you. First of all being an action star isn't exactly a bright future for an actor. Those kinds of stars are never taken seriously (thank God) because we all know those action movies are a soulless/stupid waste of time. But I am glad for Taylor because he got a job, that's a good thing, even if he will be in a type of movie that I don't care for at all.
Robert on the other hand seems to be going into good movies, based on emotion and storyline, and that will help him in his acting career much more.Plus he has that charisma/charm and talent. He can act, and I'm glad that I don't see any action star in his future.
And Rosenburg had better not write Edward out of the script, if she knows what's good for her and for the franchise. And if you notice, for NM they used all the Edward bits in the movie for the advertisements to lure the crowds in. That was one of the reasons I was disappointed in NM, they made us believe through the trailers that we would get a rounded view of the story and enough of Edward, and that it would be focused on E/B even if they are apart (which could have been easily done). But they even cut us short on what is in book, which is the Edward/Bella reunion, when in the advertisements they made us think that it would be great/beautiful reunion, it turned out a rushed, lack luster one.
But my point is they used most of the Edward parts in the advertisements, because they know that he is the main draw, alongside the E/B romance for most fans.

I used to think that of superhero movies, but not anymore.
Iron Man and The Dark Knight definitely put superhero movies on a different level for me. I think that Taylor has a good look for it whereas Rob doesn't.
They are doing what they are individually good at.
Taylor is more geared for this type of franchise.
Whereas, Rob is more geared towards the poetic, artsy, tortured films. That is what is good at.
It's like when people talk about Kristen needing to change it up. I don't get that.

When I went to see NM, I already knew that Edward ( as in the book) was going to be the majority of the movie away and I didn´t mind if we stay close to the book and so on….but not with Eclipse, this isnt it…here Edward realises very well what he has to offer, that there´s a bond with Bella that even if he tries to, he simply can´t stay away from her…and here we go with all those scenes of kissing, hugging and going beyond and beyond with bella such as bella becomes a real hunter for Edward…complaining if he pulls back, demanding sex literally and only at the very end of the film she realises that she loves Jake with her heart but not in soul like in Edward´s case…
And if this is not properly seen, then i´ll prepare to be heard, as much as I can….

Congrats Taylor…I only hope that Paramount does a good job with the movie or you may be stuck with crappy pretty boy roles and I know you can do better. Ironman was done well but many comic heros are done very poorly. *shakes head* how many poor Batman movies did I have to suffer through before the last two redeemed the franchise. *crossing fingers for this one* I would have preferred a more established comic hero for you but I hope this one does well.

The first time I ever saw Rob in an interview I thought he wasn't cut out for that lifestyle and I was worried he would be ruined by it all and it seems to be happening just the way I hoped it wouldn't.
People think that actors put themselves out there and have to accept the attention but no one should be treated like that. When you see the videos and not just the photos, you see the sheer number of paps there are and hear the disgusting things they yell to get a response. They have no decency or conscience.
No matter how much money an actor earns, nothing can protect them from that.

I just stumbled upon a picture of Rob taken this week by paparazzo in LA somewhere where the poor guy, with a full beard, trying to just be, has literally been pushed against a wall, leaning into it face first, head down, trying to cover himself up and disappear!
It truly made me sick to see that, I mean come on! I feel so bad that I even saw it because that is why people follow them around, because there is this “need” for new info… We have gotten so many official pictures, and actual photoshoots! Do we really need to hunt them down like that and literally have them against the wall!
You every wonder why people who get to this level of -unwanted- fame get into trouble, addictions and worse?? Could it be because they got pushed to the limit maybe?
If we really appreciate what they do, and what their work in the movies has meant to all the fans, shouldn't we advocate in some way so that they can at least know that we the fans don't want them hunted down, so that they get some room to breathe and do their jobs, so that they don't quit on us literally or worse, figuratively…
This is my first post, a long one, but I really felt the need to make a call to the community of true followers. We should try our best to not give into the temptation looking at these kind of pictures, so as not to throw more fuel to the fire. It's the least we can do! I'm glad to see this site hasn't even posted a link to the pictures I'm refering to, I truly hope they won't. A line needs to be drawn. If we care about these actors like we say we do, we need to get that, like anyone we know, they need to enjoy their work to keep doing it, to feel safe.
I know many of the people here will agree and I hope you can echo my concern. It was really disturbing to see a young, lovely man who just wanted to hang out with his friend, literally not knowing how to escape. We know better!

They're a waste of time? Do you know how much money those movies pull in? The Dark Knight was great, too (and has huge star power to it) as was Spiderman movies. I think this was a *good* choice for Taylor. He likes the action and it's a good thing to start with… those movies are big money-makers and he likes that type of movie.
Both those types of movies have their good/bad points and both of those movies will boost the ratings because of them having Rob and Taylor in them.

My brother gave it to us after his foreign exchange roomate returned to Japan – it's one of those all-in-one monitor systems, so we'd have to replace the monitor as well…

Oh absolutely, if they would have taken a pic and then left, not treated him like an animal I might have been upset, but not as upset as I am now, the paps have no boundaries, one day someone is going to get hurt because of there actions.
You always see the cast in interviews saying the paps are terrible but the fans are great. They know who's at fault. All we can do is boycott all the pap photos and gutter press stories, as hard as it is to resist the temptation.
I'd rather not see them or read anything about them outside of what they're working on if it spared them from that sort of intusion into their private lives.

I know some were really down because of NM's drop in the box office total this week so far. But it fell into second place and only barely behind The Blind Side, which is supposed to be a phenomenal movie.
We still bested the three new movies that came out. The weekend after Thanksgiving always sucks at the box office anyway.

I kind of like them together, he is hot and she is gorgeous and together they just seem so right. Sure she is tall but her body is very proportionate, and she eats all the time so being thin isn't her fault. Its nice to see two such superstars be such beautiful and nice people. She was pretty good on her acting roles so far and on SNL so I bet she would do really well in a movie with him, and it would be a huge blockbuster plus they seem to have great chemistry and on the last pictures of them I noticed her tummy seems to be a little swollen so maybe they are already closer than people think.

thanks very nice of you, fans of jacob are always such good people. Maybe if you got to know Taylor Swift by reading her blogs and watching her home videos you'd see what a nice person she is. I met her before and she's really sweet, she spent time talking to me about stuff and it was in chicago when jacob was there. I was too shy to go near him but he was really nice to the girls that did talk to him and he was really sweet to Taylor too, he touched her hand a lot. maybe seeing them in person is what made me like them together so much

Yeahh, there were some issues with the original convention center, but they let us know a couple of days before so we knew the location had changed.
It.Was.Amazing. Can you believe there was only around 30 fans there?! It only made it easier for us to spend time with the cast! I am in cloud 9. Chaske is one of the most beautiful people I've ever met. He is the sweetest (he called me “love”!) I had a chance to talk to him and during the photo op/signature sessions. He was out in the hall when I went to use the potty and I marched right up to him and asked for a hug! Lmao. I swear. I will be sending the pictures to the site along with a summary of the entire day!

The paps are totally wrong and they should stay at least 50 feet away at least when they are taking pictures. I agree 100% that they need to quit following people around and invading their privacy.
However, you do realize that if Rob tried to retaliate and actually git them or in any way inflicted bodily harm he could be arrested for assault and the pap could sue him.

Funny, I only saw it twice in the theater. I've watched it about every other week or so since the DVD came out, usually with the commentary.
That I've seen NM 4 times is really saying something because it's the only movie I've ever seen at the theater more than twice. I'm just not a regular theater goer. However, for Twilight movies, I guess I can make exceptions.

Aro was amazing. Not exactly like I had pictured him looking but almost even better than I had imagined him sounding. I think the movie totally nailed the Volturi ………. and Rachelle will always be Victoria for me. Her quick scenes in NM were perfect.

I always miss the most important topics of conversation, because of the right weird time difference, it's just so hard to keep up with you guys. It's always something that everyone had a right roudy conversation about, and then it dies down as soon as i enter the building.
It's either Rob and Kristen, rumpy pumpying in the middle of the street or Taylor Lautner runnning wild and naked. that my friends was the best day dream ever.
But, yeh i just checked out the Rob pictures of him being flouced by the papz. I feel dreadful that i might have something to do with it, for being such a mega obssessed fan. But he seemed fine, in the car, he had a laugh with his mate. Which is sweet. Kind of makes me feel a little better.
And i agree that the papz should give up taking pictures of Rob. But isn't that part of the identity and being a celebrity. I so want it to stop, i'd give my nana to them for them to stop. But it just isn't happening. In a way it's good for his career. In another way, it's heartbraking to see. But it's part of the job. They knew that, like every celebrity does.
If they weren't fine, then we would know. But they are happy. So we should be happy. I guess. But still papz = Satin.
Then, the runaways poster. Kristen Stewart, in tight leather pants, rocking out, singing, girl on girl. My dreams are all coming true. This is the movie to see right here. I'll be pre-ordering my tickets so fast, the light from the sun wouldn't have nothing on me.

The fact is that it's no one's business but his own and if the media thinks the fans want to hear intrusive rubbish like that, they are wrong. We have more respect than that.

(i know im gonna get pounded on for this but i call it for what it is) but who is really to blame when you think about it, if its blame your looking for? us. the fans, especially the robward fans. if it wasn't for us, or in my case “the others” (cos i really dont care what he and kristen do in their personal lives as long as their well and happy) they wouldn't be feeding it to us. cos why are they doing it for? for us, yes i know they do it mostly for themselves, for ratings and money but why exactly? cos we have strength in numbers. so it really isn't the dope dealer, but the ones making the dope.
yet, its a vicious cycle. we create it/feed into it, the dope dealer distributes it, the crackhead consumes it, and then we start all over. and once it starts, its really hard to stop it.
what rob needs to do, and maybe kristen, is to get away from LA as far away as possible for a period of time. hell, years. once he/she are done making the movies they've committed to do.

I bet that line was said several time before they could both do the scene without laughing. When Edward says cheesy stuff in the books, he's not serious, he's teasing, but MR doesn't seem to realise that. He should have said it jokingly with Bella laughing in response and it would have worked.
The frolic could never be salvaged. They should have been dressed normally and running at vampire speed. I really need to know what the reasoning was behind that. It annoys me wondering about it.

And life? Yup… 7yo gymnastics on Monday nights, 11yo Guides on Tuesday night, 7yo Brownies on Thursday night, every other Wednesday activity night at church for 11yo…
I don't like going to movies by myself, so I only have Fri & Sat & every-other-Wed to arrange for a sitter or movie companion, cuz we don't go to movies on Sundays…
of course, budget is also an issue – we have Air Miles movie passes for 2 with popcorn, woohoo!

EC in Twilight was very light and amused about a lot of things, though. Rob doesn't like portraying this aspect of him, for some reason. You might blame that on him a bit as well.
CW definitely should have used the stop and go effect he used during the Victoria chase scene. He does the slow motion thing during the Volterra fight scene, which is somewhat annoying but a lot less annoying than the frolicking scene cause there's a battle going on. A lot of people hate the frolicking scene because it's too darn sappy and slow motion always enhances the sap. I don't mind it, though. I love the frolicking scene… save Robward's Easter outfit.

I too have a budget. I've only seen it twice in the theater twice because of it. Air Miles movie tickets? And OK, what are Brownies? Is that like the girl scouts?
I think Rob lightened up for Eclipse; he said he did. It'll be nice to see Edward act more HUMAN, if you know what I mean. He was distant in NM and there was so little time at the end to really see any reaction from him. Edward's best moments are in Eclipse and that'll be fun to see. I think that little smirk in NM right before he proposed was a hint of how he'll be in Eclipse.
The frolic didn't fit the saga in any way, shape or form. I would love to hear some explanation of it but I'll have to wait for the commentary. I might have to isten to that bit first before watching the movie!
Bella's little 'Eat my dust' look over her shoulder was brilliant though. Yeah, mixed feelings about that scene!

We run the English system of Guiding, yes, it's the equivalent to girl scouts – Brownies are the 7-8yos… My 11yo is in her third year of Guides. I was a leader until this year, but just burned out… great fun, too much politicking and anal-retentive parents who think they could do it better but don't STEP UP… *takes a deep breath*
We have an Air Miles rewards program up here in Canada. You have a collector card, and earn air miles at sponsoring stores – everything from groceries to gas to banking (my mastercard earns air miles, woohoo!)
You can redeem the points for flights, or thousands of other rewards… being on a tight budget, and knowing our chances of international travel are quite slim, as much as we'd like to go home and visit our family in the UK, we choose to get things like movie & attraction passes to take the kids to.
I was supposed to take hubby to see NM last Wednesday, but our bbsitter cancelled on us… have to run 11yo to & from church this Wed, maybe Friday night? *wiggles in anticipation* he's jealous that he hasn't seen it yet…

I always wondered how parents find babysitters. My mom stayed at home with us all throughout our childhood. Do you ask neighbors and family and friends? It always makes me really nervous, the idea of handing my kid off to a stranger. I think I'd have to be a stay at home mom too actually.

I only trust 4-5 people with my kids… irony is, both of them happen to be my daughter's leaders in Guiding – we've been friends for years, I trust them with my home, too. They come over & stay here with my stoopid cats when we go out – the joy of having young, single friends! Woohoo!
Other ones are friends from church, who are just awesome – I had an appendicitis attack last year, ended up being rushed to hospital & hubby was able to leave the kids with friends overnight to come & be with me. Again, known them for years or it wouldn't happen!
I know what you mean – I have to work, as hubby is disabled and unable to – I could NOT imagine leaving my kids with a daycare or something – hubby is the one who takes care of them during the day, and is awesome at it.

Yeah, in the illustrated companion it said the still of that scene was from a dream of Bella's. That seemed OK to me when I saw it before the movie because she does think of Edward in his own time a lot and has some pretty vivid dreams. It struck me as ill thought out recycling!

Definitely put Twilight to shame. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I really think Eclipse will do amazing and beat NM at the box office. I think they'll have one romance trailer, one action trailer, and one with both like they did for Twilight and NM. Those will get everyone's attention. Plus it's a summer movie. The fact that NM did as well as summer movies even though it was released in November is incredible.
Oh yeah, it's being released July 4th weekend, it will kill at the box office. I might see it 3 times that weekend alone. I'm definitely taking the night off if it's released at midnight again.

It was only my 2nd. I saw the Dark Knight at the midnight release and it was amazing. Didn't see Twilight in theaters though, so I was totally unprepared for the NM screamers. My crowd screamed at EVERYTHING. From the lights dimming, to the RM trailer, to the ending credits…EVERYTHING. I hate going so early, but I know that's a must when Eclipse comes out.

There are a lots of important scenes which comple the story: rosli and jasper story, Fight with victoria and Janes visit, E/B visit Mom, graduation, Jacob stories, bella hit jacob and break hand, Sleeping bag scene, E/B in the bed….
and I like to see Edward and bellas father…… there are soooo many.

Ny the way, EW is getting pretty anti-Twilight mow, if you ask me. For example–in their article starting on pg 72 “100 greatest movie, Tv shows, etc…the only thing remotely close to Twilight related was #24–Team Edward vs. Team Jacob. No mention of phenomena, either movie or it;s phenomenal stars.
Also a nasty commentary article in this issue on pg 88 by Chelsea Handler, entitled, “The Vampire Craze? It Kind of Sucks.” She starts out by saying she doesn't get the craze about vampires but goes on to say things like”"Robert Pattinson would be best served changing his last name to patterson since that's an actual last name” and “I don't know if any of the Twilight stars are very good role model.” I know she's a comedian, I get that she thinks she's funny or ironic or something but she comes off an mean and better.
I think that EW should be held accountable to us Twilight fans. They should not be biased, Twilight is part of the entertainment industry, too. I think they should realize that we buy an awful lot of the magazine and put a lot our time and money into the entertainment industry. Hasn't the past few weeks $570 million taught them anything about our power?

please see my comment to RPC above concerning EW. I believe they are seriously messing with us. On one hand they are gouging us for money by putting out 3 good covers that they know Twi fans will want, then send subscribers another cover with the explanation that their “regular” subscribers were complaining about too much Twilight information in their magazine and that too many “regular subscribers had threatened to stop their subscriptions.
I noticed today that their Dec 11 magazine with J. Depp has 3 alternative covers INSIDE THE MAGAZINE of Beyonce, Jon Stewart and Tina Fey. They should and could have done this with the R/K/T covers but, obviously they knew it would be profitable to sell separate covers for these. Not too many people would have paid extra for covers of Beyonce, Jon, or Tina (with no offence meant towards them, by me).
We need to let them know that this is not acceptable. I, myself have subscribed to this magazine for years. What do they consider a “regular” subscriber?

I vaguely remember selling magazines in 8th grade and EW happened to be one of them. I told my mother about it and she ordered the subscription. Once I turned 18 I took over the account and it's been mine ever since. So that's what, 15-16 years?
Without fail, I renew my sub. for 3 years and have noticed they raised the price on it. It went from $50 to $150 !!!!!!!!! Outrageous but I'm a loyal subscriber.
It's the only mag. I get on a regular basis, I get the rest like VF from newsstands since I wouldn't read them otherwise.

Well, maybe I've been getting it that long, then, can't really remember anymore but I know it's been a very long time. Can't remember when I didn't get it and up to now their Twilight coverage has been excellent.
I know that every yr they send me an offer in the mail for a discount rate to renew early and just last month I sent them a check for $20.00 to renew my subscription until April of 2011 (guess my current one ran thru March of 2010. Prices have remained reasonable as long as I have alwaus renewed ahead. Time magazine is like that, too, just renew it at $25.00 ayr for 52 issues, I think.

I was trying to talk on skype and Twitter at the same time (different windows), then I opened up a third window to reply on nmm and my computer said “No!” and got really slow and I lost the picture on skype so I had to reboot and go back on only skype so I could see and talk to my daughter for a bit. Skype is a wonderful invention. You can download the program and use it free to talk to anyone with skype using your computer and web cam–you can actually see them in real time. My daughter is teaching in Korea and NM just came out there this weekend. She didn't see the trailers or anything so this is exciting for her.

My webcam came on my laptop but I hear they're inexpensive to buy separately as plug-&-play. She loved the books but not the Twilight movie, doesn't care for Rob as Edward (How could she say that!!!) She says that NM is 100 % better than Twilight movie and everything is almost perfect to her. i don't know how many times she might see it, we'll see; if she were here I would have taken her myself multiple times!

Can you believe it? She teases me about Rob/Edward all the time (He's ugly, can't act, etc.) She got me a little pocket Edward for Mothers Day and gave it to me in front of my parents, family! Thinks it's hilarious I like him. It's all in good fun, tho. She talks w/ me about Twilight stuff regularly. She really enjoyed the score & soundtrack.

I'm glad Summit/David Slade are keeping Eclipse under wraps, I don't want to be tempted with spoilers for that just yet.
In fact, I don't want to see any spoilers at all, Eclipse is my favorite book and I refuse to ruin it for myself by seeing all the best parts before June 30th, 2010.
Now after that even gossip cop is comenting on the issue of the paps and the fans reaction it becomes clear that if anyone of you is lucky enough to have the chance of an encounter with him say it AFTER …don´t tweet or messages saying the place and the day and the time because nothing will be acomplished if we only cry out loud but we don´t give steps for that….
But sadly as it seems if you could hear the paps voices saying “you are the man” it is very clear that he´s spotlight now and for the next year….he will have to see and face them no matter what he does…anyway…this only gives me more and more the idea of only one BD because of this madness that i´m sure they are willing to end as soon as possible….if not check out the paps pictures of yesterday and Taylor Lautner he had a terrible face…so serious…

LMAO! yep, so i am in the school library at idk…3:30ish in the morning..(should be studying for finals) so i took a “break” and started creeping on NM stuff(of course) and im watching a jacob/bella video & you know with the editing they slow down all the clips they used from the movies. anyways, so the scene where jacob climbs in her room ive never paid attention to “bella's” face.hahaha..she analyzed that boy's body..who could blame her. this is a long rant and i am off back to “studying” good luck w/the protests of the papz! when school stops taking over ill try to help!

NM was too depressing for me, when Edward left I struggled to finish the book because I didn't know if he was coming back.
I love Eclipse because Edward and Bella are together again, and the leg hitch is my personal favorite scene. I cannot wait to see how they did that for the movie.

I'm a Jacob fan but Rob's personality made me want to see Twilight again and again and he's such a sweet guy…that was AWFUL. I actually started tearing up…didn't expect it to be THAT bad.

they should have done two movies for the 6th book if they couldn't cover everything … it was like the movies are getting worser as they progressed. I disliked 3rd one at first, i think it had to do with the fact, i had a terrible tummy ache when i watched the whole thing, i refused to go to the toilet and sat through the whole movie, imagined that. .ha ha.. anyway, when i saw it again later, it was better, then it was the fifth one, and now the sixth looks the worse to me.
I felt the back stories with Prof. Snape are important … that's why it's called Half Blood Prince, they didn't explain it so good in the movie …
