‘The Runaways’ Finds a Distributor & Joan Jett May Perform at Sundance Film Festival

runawaysAccording to indieWIRE, Apparition (financed by River Road and produced with Linson Entertainment) picked up the U.S. rights to The Runaways, starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.    Joan Jett may perform at the Sundance Film Festival as well.

Here’s the deal. As excited as all of Stewart’s Twilightfollowers are at the prospect of seeing her as groundbreaking rocker Joan Jett—both Stewart-starrers The Runaways and Welcome to the Rileys are the most scheduled and visited films on the Sundance site—this is a low-budget indie movie made for less than $10 million. The music picture barely got finished in time to show fest programmers, and will be mixing right up to the delivery of a wet print at the festival, which opens January 21. The good news: Apparition chief Bob Berney can use the fest as a launch pad for the indie film’s March 19 release.  And yes, it looks like exec producer Joan Jett will do her best to perform there.

I really really want to see the Runaways!  It’s released one week after Robert Pattinson’s film Remember Me is premiered.   Movie week with Kristen and Rob!!  LOL!

How awesome would that be if Joan Jett performed at Sundance Film Festival!  What if Kristen Stewart performed with her?!  AHHHHHH!  Wishful thinking.  Gah, I wish I could go to Sundance.

    I did it! I'm finally done!
    I took all day, distractions and many, MANY words until I came here, but I'm gonna kick ass tomorrow at the test (I hope.. LOL)..
    Now it's 0.19 a.m. and I'm going to sleep, because all those words have made me hugely tired.. hehe

    I wouldn't want to misinform you, in November he was supposed to begin shooting "Bel Ami" (stupid me for writing it so wrong :))
    in London and Budapest in February, but the last update is that it's not Nicole Kidman, but Uma Thurman who will co-star Robert so they may have changed their schedule. Also it would be strange if they were shooting anywhere but in Paris... And Rob is gonna be shooting "Unbound Captives" around February as well... so it's really hard to know what's true and what is just rumors...

    Looking at that photo, I notice how good Dakota's wig looks. I think punk hairstyles look better as wigs than long styles do. I guess Kristen was so wanting to make everything about this movie real including Joan Jett's hair. She really got into this role and I so respect her for that. She has the face that can go with any hairstyle anyway. And now it's growing out just in time for them to ever film Breaking Dawn. 2010 is looking to be really awesome!!!

    I just can't wait to see those movies, portraying a rockstar and a stripper Kristen is going to break that "polished" Bella-reputation, proving to everybody who keeps criticizing Twilight that it's not some cheesy teen-vampire movie, the story is deep and the actors are reeeally talented!     I can't wait for The Runaways. I've always loved Joan Jett. I hope at the end of movie, they fast forward to Joan Jett's life in '80s where she dominated as a solo artist and have Kristen singing, "I love Rock N' Roll" while the credits roll. I'd love it. I just love that girl. And to have Rob the week before in Remember Me is like a double hell, yeah.

  • its ridiculous how much i wanna see this movie. out of the holy trinity, this is the one im really looking forward to besides eclipse. and im a taylor fan first lol! and even before i became kstew fan i wanted to see this movie cos i love period pieces especially when it involves music legends even tho jett is before my time and ive never really listened to her songs im not a fan of jett but i do recognize some songs as jett NOW cos ive heard one or two before and checked them out on itunes not long ago, listened to bits of some and they were great! anyways im rambling, ttyl! lol
