The DVD was released yesterday in South Africa – so I was watching some last night – there is so much on the Extra DVD I did not know what to watch first.. I did however watch the ECLIPSE sneak Peak – its short but so worth it.. The Extra scenes are great, the Deleted scenes were OK – nothing great… I will watch it properly tonight – cant wait!!

Sorry, Chris, but it *was* a mistake.

The stuff you cut was better than what you left in half the time. Even the delivery of certain lines was better… like when Edward said “You give me everything just by breathing”. In the movie it came off kinda contrived and cheesy. In the outtakes, it sounds much more genuine.

Laurent was better in the outtakes, too. He sounded like he was having a hard time controlling himself around the smell of Bella's blood, and he is more like the Laurent from the first movie. In the scene they left in, he comes off as flat and he doesn't sound as if he “can't help himself”.

Jacob was WAY better. Here I am thinking Taylor Lautner might just be a mediocre actor, but hell… anyone would look that way if their best takes were removed in favor of worse ones.

*sigh*

Maybe they'll make a director's cut of the movie someday.

Wow the bedroom scene between Jacob and Bella was great!
It really shows how great Taylors acting skills are.

I liked most of the scenes.. they should have been in! Especially Bella when she just walked into the meadow, I could feel her pain more viscerally than the movie itself. Maybe its because we can hear her gasping her whereas the final cut had all the music covering over it. But the Edward collapsing thing? Totally don't get it. And her conversation with Carlisle was important.. why cut it out?! Argh.

The frog leaps though, was a good call.

This is really bad, but when Edward and BElla are in the classroom, I thought she said she didn't like being celibate and she really says she does not like being celebrated. lol

I can honestly say the only non cheesy scenes were B/E in the hallway, and B/J in Bella's bedroom. The rest is LMAO worthy.

For example: Edward collapsing in the meadow…..Jake's leap frog at the end….. shall I go on?

Now, I am glad that the version I bought only has the movie and Eclipse scene on it.. not worth the extra money.

Since I am at work I haven't seen the scenes yet, I just came here to brag. I live in Germany and ordered my DVD in Britain to get it faster. I got a shipping notification on wednesday and it just got here. Can't wait to get home from work…

I dont know the one from walmart is a 2 disk and the advertise they have 7 min of eclipse footage and target is a three disk but no mention of eclipse but yes i i think it does have the deleted scenes

Oh Chris, you could have made this a 3 hour movie and we would have lovingly sat through the whole thing. I think the deleted scenes were great. They should have been left in, they helped explain more of the story.

So I won't be getting my DVD until like next week sometime.. because I ordered it early this week, but they won't ship it until tomorrow, or today. Sucks.. but that's ok because I won't have to go anywhere to pick it up..

I completely agree with you, I think all of them acted and sounded better in extended scenes…Laurent and Kristen were really good, way better than in the actual movie…I really don't understand why they had to cut so much, because I'm sure we (the fans) would go see it even if it was 5 hours long.

Um, but anyway, I think if Chris had a limited amount of time to fill, he did a good job. These would have been great if left in too, at least it's nice to have them available also on a DVD if they couldn't be. ♥

The only thing I am glad of, is that this is less on screen of Kristen huffing and doing alot of open mouth breathing. WAIT, before you stone me…PLEASE don't get me wrong…know that I truly adore her, but not when she does that. If you notice in the scenes/parts where she doesn't…she's very good!!! Even Robert's starting to pick up on that habit. Hmmm…I wonder why? Too much hanging out togehter? lol – I think it's cute (as long as it's not in the film)

You could also see it when he was on his way up to the window, and for a hot second you could see a harness attached to the motorcycle when he lifts it out of the bed of the truck. I think they must only take the time to edit those things out of scenes that actually make it into the movie.

I think that is done by the editor's, that's why you see a lot of movies with “Director's Cut” because the director would cut or leave other things in compared to the editor. At least that's what I think, especially considering in Eclipse Summit got rid of David Slade's editor and replaced it with someone else. So I think that Summit and the producers have a big say in what is cut and not cut.

I agree Spectra – probably the Editor. I'm so thankful for these scenes but god, I'm so bummed they didn't make it into the movie. It would have had a bigger impact and probably would have shut up the stupid critics.

first I have to say LOL on the frog leap jacob… its true…. second I just loved edward and bella in the school, and his smile…. beautiful…..they really should have left that part, and I agree with someone who said here that he even better said that cheesy line, It really DID SOUND like he meant it…*sigh*…. and taylors acting in bellas room, It was really good, maybe even better than in the movie, but I am definitely glad that they cut out that edward thing in the meadow, I was like WTF is this now? and yeah, carlisle stiching bella, the should have kept that in the movie too *sigh*, oh well, nothing we can do now…..

Vamp~ I had to comment to you because of your name…. My mother in law and I went to see RM last weekend and were BLOWN away by Rob's acting. Absolutely LOVED the movie!
Then I see all the bad reviews and it irked me. And I watched Rotten Tomatoes last nite and they tore it to shreds. They mocked him because he is in Twilight and mocked the fans (by squealing his name) …and said his acting was horrible. DId these people see the same movie I did??!! I guess it shouldn't bother me what critics say…..but how could so many of us LOVE it and they all hate it? They never mocked Star Wars fans like they do Twilight fans. It's disrespectful to Rob as an actor and I sincerely hope they don't do it to Kristen this weekend. Sorry to go off topic, I had to vent.

Anyway, I agree that we really needed some of these extended scenes to get more into the characters hearts. I loved when Edward knew Jacob searched for 2 weeks to find that dreamcatcher. I think a non reader may forget he reads minds and knows so much!!!

TOTALLY AWESOME!!! Well most of it anyway. After I watch these all over for a few more times, I think I'll be able to hold out until midnight to watch it on pay per view and then tommorow I'll go out and get the DVD's! YAY! Unfortunately, I am still so torn about which one to buy…first. I really want the dreamcatcher chain that Barnes and Nobel have but want the Eclipse sneak peek from the wal-mart version. It IS my fave. book! Aarrgghhh…HELP!

Also, sidenote here! I just realized how much difference SOUND and MUSIC make. There was no background mucis for these and the sound was not tweeked or whatever. Just a thought!

Yes~ the movie was great all around! I always loved the little girl from Nurse Jackie and she really hit it home in RM!
I feel horrible if the reviews are bad because of the Twilight haters. And yes I agree more fans need to get out there and support it.

Wish they would have a “director's cut” of this movie with everything that was left out instead of having them as bonus scenes. Put them in – bill it as the “Ultimate Twi-Hard edition”, charge an extra 10.00 for it, we would pay it to have the COMPLETE movie!

target: 3 disc deluxe edition. this is basically the 2 disc regular edition plus an extra disc. the also decided to include a film cell. the 2 disc includes the film and the 6 part documentary plus music videos (i think) lol. the 3rd dics includes never before seen footage and DELETED scenes. note i said deleted scenes. this means that target is the only place with DELETED scenes.

borders: this place only offers 2 disc. this is basically the music video and the 6 part documentary, however, they also incluce never before seen footage which is totally different from the footage that target is showing. now borders doesnt offer DELETED scenes. they are offering EXTENDED scenes. which i think are the one shown on this post. borders also includes a medallion that you can wear as a necklace.

so basically target had deleted scenes and borders has extended scenes.
neither one has both. this seriously sucks.

walmart: 2 disc ultimate fan edition. this place offers the music videos and the 6 part documentary. walmart however offers “never before seen” eclipse footage. but guess what? the so called never before seen footage, wa actually released last week. remember the 2 and a half minute video we saw?

so if you ask me, your better off getting the target edition since the EXTENDED scenes are now in youtube.

- I like the addition to the meadow scene w/ Bella walking into it. I agree w/ another user's comments; I thought that scene was reallllly weak and totally didn't have the level of emotion/sadness/whatever that it deserved.
- LOLLLL at the last Edward vision in the meadow… so random.
- I heart Taylor Lautner. He is seriously the best. I loved him in Shark Boy and Lava Girl (lol) and I still love him! I feel for Jacob SO much more when I see Taylor acting his character. In the book I could care less about him, 100% team Edward all the way… Loved the extended version of the J & B bedroom scene. Can't complain about more shirtless action LOL…

because u didn't say something about Jacob & Bella scene lol I think that one was great too (but the edit version is too). When Jacob looked at his pic with Billy (after Bella said something about “let's get away”). when Jacob said “wish I could just explain!” (shows his frustration) and love when he said “my secret … what I am…”

it just shows a little bit more that Jacob is her BEST friend(or more). Since technically in Twilight movie, it didnt even seem like they were best friend since Jacob's part was beyond small

I think the Bella and Laurent scene, where the “Edward hallucination” kinda closes his eyes and sinks down *giggles* would have been one of those 'what the heck' scenes, like ampire Bella and Edward running in the meadow. Also, the last one, where Jacob is like froggy jumping towards them, ahahaha.
He is a werewolf, not a werecricket.
