Official Open Casting Call for Eclipse: Seth and Leah Clearwater

Summit is holding an official open casting call for the roles of Seth and Leah Clearwater. Both are important roles for members of the Quileute Indians in Eclipse. To participate, you must fit the general age range and description of the character, and then record your scene using Actorcast software.

Summary of New Moon Cast: Wolf Pack and Volturi

Now that we’ve had some time to digest the casting choices for the sequel to Twilight, New Moon, I think it’s safe to say that on the whole, casting made some great choices. Reelzchannel takes a look at the newly cast actors for the Volturi and Wolf Pack in particular, and gives their view. Here are two of the more controversial picks for the cast–

Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius

Where you’ve seen him: As Anthony in Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street and in RocknRolla. He’s also rumored to be starring in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

In New Moon: Caius is one of three Volturi leaders, alongside Aro and Marcus, and is the more stubborn of the group. He has a fear of werewolves, and isn’t too keen on Bella and Edward either.

Verdict: He’s quite creepy looking, which should suit Caius well. We’re wondering if he’s too young for the role, though he does have the required shoulder-length hair. We’re not too sure about translucent onion skin, though.

Tyson Houseman as Quil Ateara

Where you’ve seen him: In low-key theater productions, mostly.

In New Moon: Quil, one of Jacob’s best friends, is the last to learn of his wolf heritage. He imprints on Emily’s two-year-old niece, Claire. But it’s not creepy. At all.

Verdict: He looks mischievous and friendly, though we’re not sure he’s tall enough. Ah well, small details.

Will Gianna Be Omitted from the New Moon Cast?

In the official New Moon cast announcement, Gianna–the human secretary of the Volturi–was missing from the list. Does this mean that she won’t be appearing in the movie, or is it an oversight? The Twilight Examiner questions this–

Wachsberger, beauty in such films as First Daughter and Sorority Row was long-rumored to be selected for the role, and Summit Entertainment’s press release for New Moon was expected to serve as the final word on its casting. However, the role of Gianna, the Volturi (human) secretary who sits at the desk of the very den of Volterra’s Italian vampire leaders in the Twilight series appears in the book New Moon, and her role in the grand scheme of the Volturi way of things is rather confusing to Bella (played by Kristen Stewart) and un-surprising to Edward (played by Robert Pattinson).

What do you think? Can we do without Gianna in the movie, or is more news forthcoming?

Is Billy Burke Returning to New Moon?

One name was notably absent from yesterday’s official New Moon cast list–Billy Burke, who played Bella’s dad Charlie Swan in Twilight. Is this a sign that he won’t be back for New Moon? Not so fast, says MTV–

Before the rumors spread too far out of hand, however, we’ve got the scoop on some good news for Twilighters.

An inside source has confirmed to MTV that the veteran actor is indeed in the “New Moon” cast, and will be returning as Bella’s father. Despite Billy Burke’s omission from the press release, Kristen Stewart’s family will look exactly the same when they hit theaters everywhere on November 20th.

Christopher Heyerdahl Will Play Marcus of the Volturi in New Moon

6′4″ Canadian actor Christopher Heyerdahl will play Volturi member Marcus in New Moon. Heyerdahl has previously worked on projects such as Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural and Smallville. Do you think he’s a good fit for the part?

Newcomer Charlie Bewley to Play Demetri from the Volturi in New Moon

Charlie Bewley, a newcomer from ~~California~~ London that lives in Canada, will take on the role of Demetri from the Volturi in New Moon. Not much info is available on the actor, but he definitely seems to have the look for the part! This seems to be a big break for Bewley, as around a month ago he tweeted “please let this be the last time I scandalously flirt with the bread line, dear lord”.

UPDATE: Until we can get some better pics of Charlie, I’ve done some Photoshopping to make the pictures in the background image at his website easier to see. Team Demetri, anyone?

Graham Greene Will Play Harry Clearwater in New Moon

56-year old Canadian actor Graham Greene will play Harry Clearwater in New Moon. The actor has previously worked on projects such as Northern Exposure, Die Hard with a Vengeance and Dances with Wolves, for which he received an Academy Award nomination.

Daniel Cudmore Will Play Volturi Member Felix in New Moon

28-year old Canadian Daniel Cudmore will play Volturi member Felix in New Moon. He previously played the high-profile role of Colossus in the X-Men movies. He’s a colossus in real life, too–standing over 6′5″ tall. What do you think of the casting of Daniel Cudmore as Felix?
