normal_035There is a lot of buzz over the internet as to whether or not Twilight director Catherine Hardwick outed Twilight Saga co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Here is an excerpt from her Time interview -

By all accounts, the chemistry between the two leads was intense, maybe too intense. “After I cast him, I told Rob, Don’t even think about having a romance with her,” Hardwicke says. “She’s under 18. You will be arrested.” It was the beginning of the real-life are-they-aren’t-they, did-they-didn’t-they speculation that is now an ongoing subplot of the Twilight story. “I didn’t have a camera in the hotel room. I cannot say,” Hardwicke says. “But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn’t happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, O.K., I’ve got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.”

What do you guys think about what Catherine said? Angry? Ecstatic? Too much private info given out? Not enough? Let us know what you think below!

Check out the rest of Time’s awesome article, definitely worth reading as they touch base on how the Twilight movie came about. And they also talk about New Moon.

The WannabesTwilight director Catherine Harwicke recently revealed that the other candidates to play Edward Cullen were while at  Twi Tour in Phoenix -

  • Jackson Rathbone
  • Ben Barnes
  • Shiloh Fernandez

She also stated that she referred to them as Bachelor’s 1, 2, 3, and 4 (that is including Robert Pattinson!). As we all know, Jackson was cast in the movie as Edward’s brother, Jasper Hale.

What do you think? Loaded question I know! We obviously are very happy with Robert as Edward Cullen. Can  any of you see Jackson, Ben, or Shiloh as Edward?

Two of the actors from Twilight auditioned for roles in Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke’s upcoming modernized adaptation of Hamlet. Catherine won’t spill the beans on who, but she notes–

“We’re shooting at the same time as ‘Eclipse,’ ” Hardwicke explained. “So it has to be people with smaller parts [in that film], so that they can sneak over and do ours.”

Hardwicke also added that her Shakesperean stars could be “somebody who’s already been killed [in the 'Twilight' films by 'Eclipse'],” she explained, responding to a question about whether the dearly departed Cam Gigandet could be one of her candidates. “Exactly.

Who are you best guesses for which two Twilight alums will be in her version of Hamlet?

Twilight Teen Choice Awards

A seat filler at the Teen Choice Awards wrote up an extremely detailed account of her experience at the Teen Choice Awards last night. Among the revelations were a list of things she learned at the Teen Choice Awards–

  1. Robert Pattinson is hilarious. (technically, I already knew that, but I was proven correct)
  2. Nothing impresses Kristen Stewart (except for Robert Pattinson)
  3. Taylor Lautner is bigger and has whiter teeth in person.
  4. Nikki Reed loves Ellen Degeneres
  5. Kellan Lutz is so huge that it’s almost scary

The seat filler, Sara, was also quite impressed with Robert Pattinson last night, of course!–

Catherine wouldn’t keep her hands off of Rob! She always had a hand on him! Either on his chest of his arm or his leg! Ew! Rob would not stop talking! The guy wouldn’t shut up! The only reason I know this is because I was watching him instead of the show. It sounds creepy, but I don’t care. He kept talking and talking and talking! Not only that, he was making jokes! Kristen and Taylor were cracking up at things he said. He laughed with them and, let me tell you, the world becomes a better place every time that man smiles.

Catherine Hardwicke There’s a new interview with Catherine Hardwicke, one-time director of Twilight. She talks about how things have changed since the project and what she’s working on now. There are a couple of Twilight-specific bits:

Q: “Twilight” cost $37 million and made nearly $382 million worldwide. Do you feel pressure to top yourself?

A: “I don’t think that’s possible, and I don’t think that’s a healthy way to think. “Twilight” was a phenomenon — the stars just aligned on that film. Thank God (director) Ridley Scott didn’t stop after “Blade Runner.” He made “Thelma and Louise” and “Gladiator” and a million other interesting movies. I still want to make other good films that won’t lose money.”

Q: How have things changed for you since “Twilight”?

A: “Right now I can say in a meeting: ‘Well on ‘Twilight’ this is how we did it and this is how we made it work.’ And people go, ‘Oh wow, that movie made money.’ They listen to me a little bit more than before.”

Catherine Hardwicke, director of Twilight, is aiming to work with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart again in some upcoming projects –

“We’ve got ‘Maximum Ride,’ ” she said. “That’s a really wild, big-action fantasy film with bird kids. Then I have a cool project at Overture with Emile Hirsch that’s a modern retelling of ‘Hamlet’ — a very radical version. And then at Summit, we have ‘If I Stay,’ which is another really nice novel that we’re adapting.”

According to Hardwicke, she’s planning to solicit Pattinson and/or Stewart for roles in the fantasy films “Ride” and “Stay.”

Yes–you heard right–a fantasy film with bird kids–

“Maximum Ride” is based on a series of James Patterson novels telling the story of six teens who are genetically altered to become part bird and part human.

Well that oughta be interesting.

Catherine Hardwicke Hopes To Reunite With ‘Twilight’ Stars

“I gave it to Rob, the whole list,” she explained. “And I said, ‘Rob, which one do you want to say?’ And he goes, ‘I want to say the spider-monkey one.’ “

Options not chosen include:

-Edward: You’re not scared of heights, are you?

Bella: Not that I know of …

-Edward: Got a good grip? Don’t let go.

Bella: No chance of that, buddy.

-Edward: Prepare for liftoff …

200906020812.jpg New Moon stars Michael Welch and Peter Facinelli, who play Mike Newtown and Peter Facinelli, both agree that Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is quite a bit different than New Moon director Chris Weitz. Michael Welch says that–

“We have a new director, Chris Weitz. (He) was amazing. It’s interesting because between him and Catherine, they’re so different. Catherine is somebody who can only function at a cluttered desk. She needs chaos to success. That’s wonderful. Chris is the exact opposite. Just couldn’t be more cool, clam and collected and had his stuff together. It’s the people at the top that affect everyone below them — so the energy was more calm.”

Peter Facinelli agrees, stating that–

Catherine (Hardwicke) is a ball of energy and infuses passions when she comes on the set. Chris is more laid back, insightful and thought provoking. It’s completely different. It’s like two different rollercoaster rides, but you still love the rides. They’re fantastic.”
