The Twilight cast birthdays are in full effect in January! Charlie Bewley aka Demetri and Cameron Bright aka Alec  who play Volturi guards in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, both celebrated birthdays this week. 

Charlie celebrated his birthday on January 25th all the while claiming he is a whopping 14 years old.  While Cameron celebrated his 17th birthday yesterday January 26th.  Happy belated birthday guys!

Charlie Bewley (aka Demetri) ran in the Youth Run For Haiti on Saturday, January 23rd in Santa Monica, CA.  Josh Duhamel organized Youth Run For Haiti with the American Red Cross for the Haitian earthquake relief efforts.

Great job Charlie!!

Malicious Mandy has yet another awesome summary of a Q & A session during the Seattle Twilight Convention. This time it is with New Moon-ers Charlie Bewley and Daniel Cudmore -

• Wolf Pack vs Cullen’s – Dan would rather be Wolf Pack, run shirtless through the forests. Vampires wear running shoes and he jokes about pumping them up “pump pump pump – oops too much swoosh” (old school pump shoes for those of you lost)

• They say as Volturi they are just doing what vampires do, drink blood…. not like the “Vegan-Facinelli-Rubbish” He wouldn’t want to go hunt deer in Italian gear… unless it was Nike Tracksuits, like a Volturi mafia.

• Eclipse Fight Scene was approximately 5 days rehearsing and 5 days filming 12 hour days.

• Daniel would like Edward’s Hair, he pokes fun of his hair and points to the banner. He and Charlie banter about hair.

• Daniel would love to be any character that meant he could work with Will Ferrell, though he thinks it would be hard because he would just laugh the whole time. Charlie would love to play a character that was really deep and emotional… or a spin-off about Demetri.

• Daniel wears contacts already so the Volturi ones weren’t too much trouble, he hates contacts as a whole but wears them everyday. Charlie felt he was instantly dangerous with them on, just like sweet innocent Dakota Fanning.

• Audition process was very fast. Charlie had tried for Marcus also. Daniel had recently lost out to a few roles and had actually auditioned for the “motorcycle guy Bella rides with in Port Angeles” and didn’t even know if he could make it back for the call-back because of a job he was doing but managed to go in thinking he’d be a biker and was actually cast as a vampire and thought “wait – what?” cool!

• Charlie said it was flattering that the Cullen’s wanted to kill him more than any other Volturi and he also discussed how when he auditioned he had almost no hair so he took one little piece and swirled it down, like the old school vampires had the “peak” and he thinks that may have influenced his hair style for the movie. Personally, I adored the hair he was sporting at TwiCon. Rawr.

• For open questions in the end they walked around the crowd. Charlie also acted as Demetri and pretend choked Hillywood Alice. Daniel spoke at the podium for fun and they lounged on the stage.

Charlie Bewley who plays vampire tracker extraordinaire, Demetri  in the Twilight Saga: New Moon, participated in the 2009 Nike Human Race back in October.

The Nike Human Race, is an event for celebrating the report of running by giving runners everywhere the opportunity to run together, that takes place over the course of  multi-cities.  In 2008 there were nearly 780,000 participants joining the event from more than 24 cities, including New York City, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, and Rome. 

I can’t say it enough, how the entire cast, is either so giving, thoughtful, or kind.  It’s really nice that Charlie took time out of his schedule to participate in this event.  Look at his feet, too cute!

Soo let me get this straight.  Demetri  is a tracker, Charlie is running track in a human race?  Talk about role reversal, but I think I like the concept.    Check out all the pics at Lunanuevameyer.

The world became a little less brighter yesterday when we learned sadly that actress Brittany Murphy passed away at the young age of 32. For those of you who may not know who she is, she starred in various movies such as: Clueless, 8 Mile, Just Married (one of my all time fav movies), Riding in Cars With Boys, Up Town Girls, the list goes on!

Various Twilight Saga stars spoke out about the sudden death of Brittany via twitter -

New Moon-er Dakota Fanning (aka Jane) also spoke out about her Uptown Girls fellow cast member’s death -

My thoughts go out to her family & friends. I am just very grateful that I had the chance to work with her.

I truly thought Brittany was a great actress and enjoyed every movie she was ever in. Such sad news! The cause if death has yet to be determined. Various theories are out there via Gossip Rags. However, I choose not to believe anything until the Coroner’s office makes their official statement.
