Woah! Check out this crazy desktop wallpaper for New Moon that reader James sent in. It includes just about every element of the movie, including Jacob Black, Edward Cullen, Bella Swan, the wolf pack, Italy and the Volturi.

I could stare at it for hours. I think I might.

Lainey Gossip says that the wolves have wrapped their portion of the shot up in Vancouver for now, and now it’s the Volturi’s time to film. As for the scenes filmed yesterday–

What is it about vampires that makes the world so fascinated with them? 24 Hours Vancouver has a story looking at the history of vamps in culture, and why Twilight has touched such a nerve with the imagination of young and old alike–

“For some reason, Stephenie Meyer has caught on with a sort of Harlequin vampire,” said Hector Williams, a professor of classical archeology at the University of British Columbia who specializes in vampires. “It’s a new form that’s been put with an attractive group of young people. Before that, vampires tended to be middle-aged or older.”

Williams said the Twilight phenomenon doesn’t surprise him but that it’s only one of many versions of the fanged bloodsucker that have seduced the public.

“Vampires have been around for centuries,” he said. “[They’ve had an appeal] for the last 200 years.”

This week for Wolf Cub Friday, we have not only two amazingly cute wolf pups–Bear and Destiny–but we also have a funny little piece of fan art of Edward Cullen by Misuzee, sparkling in the smiling sunshine with a pastel rainbow and and extra heaping of cute.

A user at TheTwilightSaga named Alcat2021 [Etsy Store, thanks Ange] has a photo gallery of amazing hand-painted Converse shoes, all with different Twilight designs. Previously, we’ve seen Twilight-themed Vans from Stabby (who also won our craft contest), but Catalina shares this gallery of amazing Chucks with us. TwiCrack has this to add about possibly getting a pair for yourself from a different talented artist, named Sandira, whose shoes are pictured above–

Each shoe takes hours to hand-paint, and as a result no two pairs are the same. Sandira is taking orders by commission, and people can request their favorite quotes and choice of art on them.
