Jimmy Kimmel had a short spoof on the New Moon trailer that was released at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.  The comedy is not quite a side splitter, but still it’s pretty neat that New Moon is gathering so much attention on mainstream late night television!

What did you do the first time you saw the first official New Moon trailer? A couple of Twilight fans recorded their reactions upon their first view of the trailer and posted them on YouTube for all to see. Priceless!

Andy Samberg punked the crowd at the MTV Movie Awards, promising the New Moon trailer but instead delivering his own take on Twilight satire. Eventually, of course, we saw the real trailer, but only after seeing the spoof. Take a look at the video and let us know what you thought!

There was Samberg dressed up like a Halloween vampire, a cheap set of plastic fangs protruding from his mouth. Then there was a werewolf sporting a varsity jacket and looking like he’d stepped right out of Michael J. Fox’s “Teen Wolf.” The hokey vampire and the hairy wolfman then got into some kind of half-brawl, half-basketball game. And that was that.

Today I received some mail from an Italian fan. Unfortunately, I don’t speak Italian. From the smileys in the email, I can tell that the fan is definitely upset about something concerning Robert Pattinson. Here is my best attempt at deciphering it–

• ” Sono stata ieri tutta la giornata a Montepulciano… beh… “
• -I slept all day yesterday in ginormous Montepulciano….meh…..
• “Robert Pattinson non si è comportato al meglio con le fans che sotto il sole cocente lo hanno aspettato per ore!!!! “
• -Robert Pattinson did not combine his “meglio” with the fans that sought only to know the hardness of his ore!!!”
• “Non si è degnato neanche di voltarsi verso di loro e fare un accenno di saluto … mentre Charlie Bewley che interpreta Demetri si è avvicinato alle fans e molto gentilmente si è fatto fotografare e ha firmato autografi… “
• -Nor did he at the designated noon-time that is told in Ancient lore give us “the full salute”–but Charlie Bewley that plays Demetri rose to the occasion for every fan like a gentleman and let us photograph and autograph his firmness.

• sicuramente la cosa non turberà il sonno di nessuno, ma in molte sono rimate negativamente colpite da questo comportamento!!!!!

• -”I am secured in a house with a turban of the night, in my negative sounds I shall compartmentalize your cheese!!!!“

I am pretty sure the last part is correct–what could be a worse insult in Italy that telling someone you will organize their cheese? We have a similar phrase in America, that says “I will rearrange your hamburger!!!”

Two physicists from WTF? University have published a paper attempting to prove, once and for all, that vampires could not possibly exist–for if they did, they would replace the entire population of the world over time. It’s a heady debate brewing, with a he-said/she-said slapfest between academics–read the whole article over at i09.

We’ve previously shown you 28 amazing Twilight cakes. This cake falls more in the…interesting rather than amazing side of things. It’s been featured on a great blog called Cake Wrecks which shows mishaps in cake construction–this is what they had to say:
