While continuing on the whirl wind promotional tour Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart were interviewed by the UK show T4.  They all talk about the movie but also Rob talks about being judged for peeing in a cup because the toilet was too far away   Taylor talks about security jumping in so he didn’t have to sign some panties, and Kristen talks how she’d much rather date a wolf!  Go Kristen!!!

17: What’s it like entering this New Moon world?

Chaske Spencer: It’s like a hurricane! It’s like you are in the eye of the hurricane when you are on set – everything is calm. Then you step out of set and everything in chaos. You don’t really feel it until after you come out of production. But it’s getting crazy. A few people have recognized me on the street already.

17: Did they prepare you for this? Or, did you assume it would be crazy?

CS: Not really, I didn’t know how big this was going to get. When I got to set on New Moon, they talked about how it was going to change your life. I thought, yeah, yeah, yeah. When we started filming Eclipse, that’s when it really started kicking in. We had paparazzi everywhere. We can’t just walk down the street anymore in Vancouver.

17: Can you tell us about any crazy fans?

CS: We had a couple of girls specifically fly in and they got rooms at our hotel and they would wait there. Girls would also camp out right below our hotel balconies. You would look over the balcony and wave and just hear screams. There were a couple of girls that got on the set of Eclipse. It was really funny because I don’t think they expected to make it that far. Once they got there, they just stood there with these wide eyes. Then they realized they got through security – and security is pretty tight! They had to get escorted off, but I give them credit for getting through.

17: What was it like making the movie?

CS: It was hard! We trained a lot. We had to put on mass weight. I packed on like 20 lbs. of muscle just working out. As soon as we got there, they got us a trainer who had helped out on the movie 300. If we weren’t filming, we were working out. The acting part is easy, it’s the preparing – lifting weights and getting your body in tip-top shape – that’s the hard part. For our workouts, right off the bat we had to do 300 sit-ups every day. And we were on a special diet. We were eating like six meals a day – lots of protein and lots of vegetables. It helped us bond though. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It was fun. We were all going through this together.

17: What was it like working with Taylor?

CS: Taylor is a lovable man! He is so cool! First, he is raised right. He is a good kid. He’s got his head on his shoulders and he’s fun. He can be an adult when it comes time to work, but he is still 17 so he can be a kid as well. He gets really bored easily so between takes he will do flips and stuff. And he can do break-dancing and karate. The production people had to tell him to chill a few times because it got a little rowdy.

17: When you weren’t working out, what did you guys do on set?

CS: We goofed around a lot. It’s really fun because you get to hang out with these guys that you get along with. It was like a party. We would all pile into my trailer and watch a movie sometimes if it was taking a while to get to set or if they were busy filming something else. On off time, we would go to restaurants and clubs together. They were like my brothers.

17: On set, is it really vampires v. werewolves? Are there cliques?

CS: No! It’s such a huge cast that everyone gets along but we don’t get to see everybody. I’ve seen Rob on New Moon like twice, just in the makeup trailer, and then we go off to film our scenes. If we’re filming, the vampires are off, and when they are filming, we are at the gym. So it’s not a clique, it wasn’t meant to happen, that’s just the way it is. Everyone gets along, though.

17: We want to do wolf pack superlatives. Who’s the fastest?

CS: Alex Meraz.

17: The smartest?

CS: Tyson Houseman.

17: The funniest?

CS: Bronson Pelletier.

17: The best looking?

CS: Kiowa Gordon. We called him heartthrob.

17: The clumsiest?

CS: Me! This is a new body I have. It’s like I’m going through a growth spurt, like a 13-year-old.

17: How did you get started in acting?

CS: I was 21. I came to New York with $100 and a one-way ticket. I moved here in a last effort to make something out of my life. I started couch-surfing and bartending, and I got a lot of odd-jobs. Then I started landing acting gigs.

17: Did you always want to act?

CS: I think I did. I was interested in photography as well. I liked getting lost in movies. I’m a movie guy – I can get lost in anything. I really got into getting into characters and observing people. And, yeah, I didn’t know this was going to happen

Robert Pattinson was born May 13, 1986 in London. When he was three, he started learning to play piano, and when he was five, the acoustic guitar. His childhood was pretty much influenced by music, but when he was 12 he started a brief modeling carrier. At the age of 15 he started acting in amateur productions like the Barnes Theater Company, and three years later he got a tiny role in the small screen movie Ring of the Nibelungs (2004), apart from making a special appearance in the movie Vanity Fair, starring Reese Witherspoon. A year later he was accepted in the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire… and the rest is history.

“They’ve kicked my butt a lot of times”

Is that frustrating?
It’s weird. It’s like when I get out of my hotel room after several months, only to eat dinner or do something interesting, and it’s still getting talked about. I have a couple of friends from school that live in Vancouver, and when I went to visit him-something really unimportant-, [the story] was suddenly everywhere. It seems like the most boring you are, the more you attract attention. It’s fun, though.

Do you think it’s harder to fall in love now that you’re so famous?
No, I don’t think it’s an obstacle. It’s easy to lead with these kind of things [fame], except when they affect your career. There’s people with no luck, and the media’s job is to make them look like idiots. If that happens, you’re gonna be loaded with job, because everyone looks at you like an idiot! It’s really frustrating because there’s nothing you can do.

Can you distinguish if women are really interested in you or just in your fame?
If they’re attractive, I don’t care if they only like me for my fame! [laughs], although I prefer to be looked at for who I am.

Do you look at yourself as an idol?
Not at all. I know several people who’ve said that, but I’ve never really given much thought to it.

What does it feel like to be every girl’s fantasy?
It’s funny, because I’m sure if the fans came and talked to me for five minutes, the excitement would vanish.

Does that means your fans would be disappointed if they met you?
Of course, they probably would! There’s no way to be like people want you to be, since everyone has their own distinct image of me. Even though people don’t know what they really want, either way they get excited. The real me is not a fantasy, I think.

You’ve told us that in Twilight it took you two weeks to become Edward. How about this time?
I went to Canada a month before we started filming, and I was surprised on how relaxed and easy it was for me to become Edward again, maybe because I felt more connected with the second book than with the first. I understood the story and its motivations a lot better, because all those emotions relate to my own life, when Edward feels he took the wrong decision when he left Bella, but he does it anyways. I think any guy would do the same in their relationships. It’s like you felt obligated to screw things up! And I understand that because I always screw up. That’s what happens!

“I don’t see myself as a teen idol”

Why do you think vampire stories and werewolves have become such a worldwide hit?
I think it’s because the story is about compromise, about finding your true love and not knowing if you’re good enough for her. It’s about being scared and feeling like you’ll ruin everything. I think that’s why people identify with the movie. That’s how I’ve always seen it, never like a vampire!

Speaking about vampires, would you like to live forever like Edward?
I don’t think I could. I have an aunt, a very fun woman who’s about 96 or 97 years old, and every time I talk to her, she tells me: “Next time you come to see me, could you please bring me some vampire venom?”. That’s why I wouldn’t like living forever, under any circumstance.

Do you believe in astrology or karma?
Some. I’m really interested in that kind of stuff. But what I really believe is karma, specially since they’ve kicked my butt a lot of times!

What are your future projects?
I’m recording a couple of movies. I’ve been working without a day off for a year, but I’m doing completely different things, and the projects I feel are close to me, are the ones I need to do. I am not rolling any kind of massive movies. Only movies that have a meaning to me. That’s how I generally choose what I do.

How do you feel about being a gay icon?
I think I feel exactly the same as I feel with all girls, it’s a compliment. But I don’t know; I don’t understand that type of worship. I just have to deal with it.

How he got into dramatic arts…

I started drama in high school. I’ve always been hyperactive, so in 10th grade I got to do it in the proper class instead of math class,” he chuckled. “In Canada, schools aren’t as intense about sports.”

In high school it was more fun to do comedy, but lately more dramatic roles are coming my way.”

On being in an Oxi Clean commercial…

“I played a football player,” he laughed hesitantly, less than eager to spill his role. “There were a bunch of us football players in pink prom dresses rolling around in blueberry pies.”

On doing his own stunts…

“I like the fact that I can do stunts, but I don’t think of myself as a stunt guy. Those guys are really good at what they do,” he said. “I consider myself an actor who can do stunts. I like to do as much of a role as I can possibly can.”

In New Moon, the stunts on the screen are all Daniel, and mostly Robert, for that matter. Anxious to perform his own stunts, Daniel found out quickly that the stunt coordinator for New Moon was the same one he’d worked with in AVPR. “I hadn’t gotten the script yet, so I called him up. He was familiar with my abilities and said for sure I could do the fight scene.”

Which did you enjoy more- throwing around Wolverine or Edward Cullen?

No question about that one. “I definitely enjoyed throwing around Edward,” Daniel booms. “Wolverine was one toss.”

On the the fight scene with Robert Pattison…

“Robert and I worked together on a lot of it. He was a little apprehensive at first, but he enjoyed himself. Robert did one of the main sections of the fight.” Fortunately, Daniel and stunt man Simon had worked together on AVPR previously, so their rapport was intact. “Simon took some pretty hard hits on the ground, especially the ones where I’m throwing him on the floor from six feet above.”

When I asked if he created the illusion of slamming him from six feet above, making for a softer blow, Daniel simply chortled in response. “No, he took some really hard hits,” he said. “He was a good sport.”

“Chris has a very calm sort of mood on the set. After only three takes he knew he’d get it,” Daniel said. “David is really intense and really into the story. He’d have you do five takes and do them all different ways.”

Sexy wolf Alex Meraz (aka Paul) gave an awesome interview to Saturday Night Magazine.

There must have been some fierce competition for those four new werewolf roles. What was the audition process like and how did you finally land the role of Paul?
It was an intense process. When I received the call for submissions, I had already started working out because I knew it would be physically demanding. After a couple rounds of callbacks, I was lucky enough to land a role.

What can you tell us about Paul?
Paul is the “bad boy” of the wolf pack. He comes across as volatile, but I think he’s misunderstood. He is just very proud of being Quilete and is unapologetic about being a protector for his people.

Did you and Taylor get at all competitive in terms of shirtless attributes?
First day I met Taylor I overheard him ask Edi Gathegi [who plays Laurent] if I was bigger than him. Edi answered, “He’s just wider”. I teased him about overhearing it and from there we became gym buddies and shared workout tips with each other.

Are you prepared for the hoard of female fans you’re about to gain?
Bring it on.

How did you approach the role in terms of playing a werewolf? Did you do any kind of research or physical prep?
I looked at books on wolf pack mentalities and how the chain of command is governed by looks and postures, so I wanted to use some of those attributes in playing my role.

Did you feel any pressure playing a character in a franchise with such die-hard fans?
I felt more responsibility to the Quilete tribe than anything because I wanted to represent their tribe in a respectful manner. I’ve been fortunate enough to find out that the die-hard fans are extremely supportive.
What do you like to do during your free time?
Paint, spend time with my family, and workout.

What are some of your favorite movies?
Fight Club, Only the Strong, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Ninja Scroll, Ong-Bak, Amores Perros, City of God, Apocalypto, and District 9.

So he says ‘bring it on’ … I will be bringing it and knocking everyone out the way… no-one comes between TSH and Paulex!!  Sorry Mrs Meraz we’ll have to learn to share!

New Moon cast members Robert Pattinson (aka Edward Cullen), Kristen Stewart (aka Bella Swan), and Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob Black) will appear on Live! With Regis and Kelly! The shows will air on November 18th, 19th, and 20th!

No other details have been released as of yet. I’m assuming that they are each appearing individually on separate days? Hence the 3 different air dates.

Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner both feature in french magazine ONE.  A NewMoonMovie.org reader has done a a very good translation of the interview for us below:

Rivals in New Moon, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black are, in reality friends. Together, they reflect on the filming of the saga and on their new life as stars tracked by fans and paparazzi.

Both of you have very devoted fans. But have they become too intrusive?

Taylor Lautner: I believe that Robert and I have very different experiences concerning our relationship with the fans. As far as I’m concerned, I still credit them with Twilight. Without their support, the producers would have without a doubt replaced me for the role of Jacob after the first film.

Robert Pattinson: I remember that before the release of the first film, the fans hated me. On the internet I only read bad critiques of myself and it was really difficult to feel all this hate. Back then director Catherine Hardwicke had forbidden me from reading what people said about me on the web. I told her that it was my mother who sent me the links to the forums where they criticized me. Then she advised me to boycott all the emails that my mother sent me! [laughs] All that to say that the frenzy that I spark today doesn’t make me forget the horrors that I read about myself online.

We’ve heard the stories that certain fans act poorly on the filming of New Moon…

Robert: Usually, the majority of them are happy just to watch us film or just get an autograph. But some of them are crazy and recently it’s Taylor who gets them excited…

Taylor: oh yeah, it’s really embarrassing. A forty year old woman insisted on pulling down her pants so that I could sign her! On top of that, my name was printed on her underwear, so that was really strange! Unfortunately, you can’t expect that from all the Twilight fans…

Taylor, you hated the wig that you had to wear in the first film. And yet, it’s still present in the second!

Taylor: Unfortunately I still had to wear the cursed wig in the first part of the film. Even so I have to admit that it is more realistic and makes my head itch less than the first one did. At the beginning of New Moon, we see Jacob as we’ve always known him, friendly, nice, and a little clumsy. But when Jacob transforms physically and truly becomes a werewolf, I finally wear short hair. I don’t believe that Jacob would have been able to seduce Bella with that horrible wig! [laughs]

Robert: I almost had to wear long hair in Twilight, too. During rehearsals, Catherine Hardwicke had the idea that Edward should have a very romantic look with long hair flying in the wind, you know the kind. So she had me get extensions. I sat still for eight hours while a hairstylist put extensions in place and I hated the final result. Fortunately, Catherine respected my opinion and I didn’t film like that.

What is your favorite scene in New Moon?Taylor: The one where Jacob declares his love to Bella in an indirect manner by making her understand that they can no longer be friends. He just transformed into a werewolf and he cut his hair in order to mark his change/evolution. Then Jacob announces to Bella that they can’t stay friends any longer because he likes her too much and hates Edward who is his sworn enemy because he is a vampire.

Robert: Me, I loved all the hallucination scenes with Bella that are very stylized. Edward is semi-absent in the book because the action focuses on Bella and Jacob. The screenwriters have added some dream-like scenes where Bella imagines that she is followed by Edward. I had the opportunity to play another role and it was very interesting to show a more dangerous and sinister side.

Robert have you regretted being less present at the filming?

Robert: On the contrary, it allowed me to rest. It was one of the most restful roles that I’ve ever played! [laughs] It’s true that I had the opportunity to play a sort of different role, but it was essential that the audience had the time to appreciate Jacob. They had to feel the effects of the break-up and her hesitation between her desire for Edward and her love/friendship with Jacob. During the first three months, it was a job without stress. All the pressure was on Taylor’s shoulders.

Taylor: That’s true, and it was a great responsibility. That said, I had the impression that the fans would have loved any actor who portrayed Jacob because the character is truly nice. I am simply lucky to be the one that was chosen.

Taylor, your physical transformation is spectacular. Was it difficult?

Taylor: It demanded a lot of work, but I saw it as a challenge, and as I rose to the challenge, I appreciated all these efforts. My main goal was not to deceive the fans and those who had confidence in me. And on top of that, I loved to play the werewolf.

Robert: You impressed all of us on the film set. Your physical transformation really had us glued. In a few weeks, you changed yourself into a mountain of muscles! I hate doing sports, and I never would have gotten there!

Christ Weitz succeeded Catherine Hardwicke. In what ways is he different from her?

Taylor: Catherine was very funny and we laughed a lot with her. Chris is a lot more calm and concentrates more. Catherine was a ball of energy compared to Chris who is very zen. Though in spite of this, his attitude is very detached. He strives to work quickly and well. It’s surprising how effective he is without ever raising his voice.

Robert: Chris has a lot of talent and I found his presence very relaxing. We hit it off.

How has filming gone with the newly hired actors in New Moon?

Taylor: Filming with the new actors who play the werewolves of the Quileute tribe was a real pleasure. In the first film, I felt a little alone compared to the vampires, who formed a close-knit group. So then I had my own tribe, in some way. All the actors were nice and we often went out together after filming so that our bond on the screen had a more natural feel. We really became friends and I believe you can see that in the film.

What scenes were the most difficult to film?

Taylor: All the scenes that I filmed during March in Vancouver while it snowed! [laughs] The weather didn’t spare us. Over the course of the weeks, the sun peeked out, but, when we filmed in spring, the temperatures were freezing and I had to film without a shirt on and pretend like I wasn’t freezing to death.

Robert: Even though they are my favorite scenes, the visions that Bella has are very difficult to put into place. They are greatly reinforced with special effects. I was constantly filmed in front of a green screen and integrated into the action after Kristen filmed the scene. My movements were calibrated to the millimeter and it was very complicated. But on the screen, the result is impressive.

Did you do your own stunts?

Taylor: I did them whenever it was possible, because I love that. In particular the motorcycle scenes. In the first part of the film, I fall a lot in order to show how clumsy Jacob was before his transformation to a werewolf. These scenes aren’t dangerous but very repetitive and it’s possible to sprain something. I must say that my experience in martial arts helped me a lot because the first thing that you learn in that sport is to fall. So I tumbled, stumbled again and again without hurting myself. Then I had the opportunity to show at what point Jacob had become agile after his transformation to a werewolf. Fortunately, I did the majority of my stunts or else you would have seen my stunt double on the screen the majority of the time!

Are there aspects of your character that irritate you?

Robert: It bothers me that people continue to describe Edward as a romantic hero. He is much more complex than that. On top of that, usually, the hero saves the damsel in distress in the classic stories. And yet, on the contrary it’s Bella who saves his life in the majority of the books. Edward needs Bella more than she needs him. At least, Bella can always count on Jacob. Edward doesn’t have anyone else to turn to…

Taylor: Playing someone who ends up being rejected by Bella isn’t an easy role. If I could, I would have re-written the script so that Team Jacob wins this fight! [laughs] But in reality, I can’t complain about being Jacob. In New Moon, I have the opportunity to play two roles in a certain way. Jacob is so different before and after his transformation that it’s like I play another person.

How do you put up with the constant attention from the paparazzi?

Taylor: I don’t believe that someone can ever really get used to it., because it isn’t normal to see people photograph your every little move. You just have to try to not pay attention to them. That said, I’m not as tracked as Rob…

Robert: It isn’t clear to me, I can’t sort it all out. I haven’t found a place in the world yet where I can disappear. Even in the most removed corners, someone always ends up asking me to take a photo with them. That makes me feel like I work non-stop. At least on set the level of security allows me some intimacy. It’s a relief. But I’ve found ways to cope/ways to have fun, like using a fake name at the hotels where I stay. In Paris, for example, I call myself Mr. Handjob, that makes me die laughing! [laughs]
