TwiMom Sarah Clarke, who plays Renée Dwyer in Twilight, was asked a bit about her role as Bella’s mom during a recent TV Guide interview200902091622.jpg

TVGuide.com: Are you on board for the Twilight sequel, New Moon?

Clarke: You know, they still haven’t told me. They’re being so secretive about it. They know I’m doing press for Trust Me, so they haven’t told me anything yet. I think they don’t want anything to get out.

TVGuide.com: Have you read ahead with the other books to see what Bella’s mom gets to do?

Clarke: I have, and I know I’m involved, but the mother is such a strange role, I have to say. My instincts as a mother would never jibe with half the things Renee does.

TVGuide.com: We’d be worried if they did!

Clarke: Even with the first book, I remember reading that the mother was always on the phone, whining. What’s interesting in that? Luckily, Catherine [Hardwicke, who also wrote and directed Thirteen] gave me a lot more fun things to do, and gave us a real relationship. So that’s the big question for the second book, where again the mother is relegated to the phone. I don’t know if they’ll stay true to that.

TVGuide.com: If you as a teenager had to choose between a vampire boy and a werewolf, which way do you think you’d lean?

Clarke: Oh, I’d definitely go vampire. Werewolves are too hairy.

TVGuide.com: But wouldn’t the hickeys be worse?

Clarke: Maybe. But you could wear a turtleneck.

200902070643.jpgTDink has a revealing new interview with Billy Burke, who plays Charlie Swan–Bella’s dad and Chief of Police in Forks, WA. In it, he seems very self-aware of the acting game, kinda over it, and a bit of a dick but with a wicked sense of humor. That’s our Charlie! I got a kick out of this line–”Most of my youth was spent dreaming of being David Bowie and waiting for ski season to start.” Didn’t we all, didn’t we all. There’s also another gorgeous photoshoot from David C Lee, who did the recent take on Christian Serratos as well.

Do you feel like you relate to your character in Twilight?

Sure, a little bit. I feel like you have to be able to find a thing or two in any character you play that you can identify with, even if those things are not necessarily admirable. The self-imposed distance Charlie keeps between himself and others, most unfortunately between he and his daughter, is an idiosyncrasy I had to cop to. It is what spoke to me most immediately as I was reading the script. I’m hoping my own newborn daughter will help me get past and grow out of that bull@#!$.

Who or what inspires you?

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. Seriously, I don’t mean to take the piss out of this question but as I see it, inspiration is a completely subjective concept. Anyone who says that they are consistently inspired by anything, will ultimately end up a liar. Inspiration by nature, is an accident. It happens when you least expect it and with any luck, when you most need it. Shame on me if I ever put the responsibility to inspire me on anyone else’s shoulders.

Check out this behind the scenes video from the shoot, as well:

200902030826.jpg This new interview with Solomon Trimble, aka Sam in Twilight, is pretty interesting. Trimble doesn’t know if he’ll be back for New Moon yet. You can read a bit more of his poetry as well. We were pretty impressed about how he prepared for Twilight though–

MediaBlvd> Even though you had a small role in Twilight, did you do any research into Sam’s back-story?

Solomon> I did hard-core research. I already had connections to the Northwest customs, through my brother Marcus, who is Lummi. The biggest connection is with my aunt, Liz Sanchez, who teaches on the Quileute reservation. She connected me with a few fluent native speakers. I worked with wardrobe a lot, mostly trying to capture the authenticity of current native clothing. I had a whole lot of conversations with wardrobe about what the current-day Quileute on the reservation wore. We talked about how they dressed. One Quileute kid said “We’re somewhere between skater and gangster.”

But we found this section to be the real gem–

MediaBlvd> You didn’t have any scenes with Robert Pattinson, but did you get to meet him at all?pattinsonpee.jpg

Solomon> I didn’t have any scenes with Rob, but I saw some pre-production clips and knew that he was crazy talented. I met Rob twice, but every time we met, he had to pee. I saw him at lunch, one day, on set, and I extended my hand and said, “I’m Solomon. I’m playing Sam,” and he replied, “Sorry, I’ve got to piss.” Some crew member asked me “Did he just snub you?,” and I said, “No, the man has to pee.” The next time I got a chance to talk to him was after the premiere. I was hanging out with Catherine and her whole crew, up on the rooftop of some bar in L.A., and I saw Rob and he was like, “Damn, every time we meet, I’ve got to piss,” and he walked by me. Later that night, we traded phone numbers and I sent him a text saying, “This is Solomon/Sam.” Then, I memorized the number and took it out of my phone because I have a habit of losing my phone when I jog.

200901311204.jpg MTV has a interview with Dakota Fanning during her press for her other new movie Coraline and she talks a bit about New Moon, the Volturi, and how hot Robert Pattinson is–

And, naturally, since Dakota is a teenage female, we couldn’t resist asking the obvious question: If the actress shot a scene opposite heartthrob Robert Pattinson, could she keep herself under control?

“He is very, very cute,” she giggled. “But I’m sure I would be.

“The part that I play gets to interact with a lot of the characters, so that would be cool,” Fanning added. “[The Volturi] are kind of mean. I think it would be definitely a different part than I’ve ever played — and I’d get to be a little evil for once.”
