MTV interviewed New Moon-er Ashley Greene while at the Teen Choice awards on Sunday evening. She was very excited to be nominated, on her own, for Fresh Face Female (in which she did win!) -
“[The only thing I've been nominated for until now] is just ensemble,” Greene said. “Oh my gosh, it’s so cool. I got the phone call, and I was like, ‘Are you serious?’ It’s exciting.”
Ashley also talked about filming in Italy, and how crazy it was with all the fans and extras around!
“We were in Italy for those four or five days, and it was nutty,” Greene remembered of the shoot, which director Chris Weitz has said had a Twilighter in virtually every spot that wasn’t on camera, watching them film. “The amount of people that were in this tiny little town, it took 45 minutes to go, like, 5 feet.”
During the New Moon filming in Montepulciano, Italy some fans were so eager to have a bit of a chance at the stars, they took to bribing the guards!–
Hangin’ on one of the barrier about the set of New Moon in Montepulciano, a girl won’t be stopped to do an indecent proposal to one of the bodyguards. “If you let me go take some pictures of Robert Pattinson at the end of this street, I swear I’ll give you 100€”.
Here’s a newly-surfaced video from the New Moon shoot in Montepulciano, Italy. It features spoilers, including shots of Bella running, the yellow Porsche, and Alice Cullen’s fugly poncho-outfit.
This picture seems to show a new costume for Ashley Greene’s character in New Moon, Alice Cullen. It was taken inside the Albergo Duomo hotel that was used for character makeup while filming in Montepulciano, Italy.
Several other interesting shots have been added to the hotel’s website.
The cast of New Moon has recorded a special video greeting for the residents of Italy that will premiere before the film My Best Friend’s Girl with Kate Hudson on June 19th.
The message will express gratitude towards the residents of Italy for the time they spent filming New Moon there, and apologize to the some of the more than 6000 fans that gathered in Montepulciano that weren’t able to meet the stars after waiting hopefully the hot Italian sun.
This is defintely a nice gesture, and will surely boost the ticket sales of My Best Friend’s Girl to boot!
Italian Twilighter YuN shares an excellent report in English of three days in Montepulciano, Italy watching the New Moon shoot go down. It’s well worth a read, and starts off with a bang–
On the highway everything is ok until we get near Chiusi: a car with a blue police flashing makes its way and I move aside to let it go ahead. As soon as it surpasses me I look back filled with curiosity and I’m about to collapse: Robert Pattinson and his agent are being escorted to Montepulciano on a police grey BMW, so it’s time for the first updates on Twitter, all while driving! Then I tried to keep the contact going at 140km/h {10 over the limit!} but they were driving so damn fast that a few minutes later the car was gone. I wonder who pays the fines!?
Here’s a new picture from the “fountain scene” in New Moon from Italy. Chris Weitz in the background is directing Kristen Stewart during this pivotal scene. See the rest of the (more spoilery) pics at TwiFans and Popsugar
There’s a new journal entry from Ellie who is recounting her experiences about what it was like to work as an exra on the set of New Moon. She writes–
The scene they were filming that day was the one where Ashley and Kristen make their way up Volterra to the Piazza in the yellow Porsche. We were supposed to act as if we didn’t notice the car trying to get through the crowd until it honked and was near us, because obviously we had to get out of the way. We did the take several times, from all different directions and angles. They were using the body doubles that day and Ashley’s double was a man, which we found pretty hilarious! (Alice doesn’t have a ’stache!) We figured they chose him because of his driving experience. He was clearly very adept at maneuvering the car through the narrow streets.
A fan has a journal up that you can read to find out about what it was like to work on the set of New Moon in Italy. Not surprisingly, Rob without a shirt caused quite a stir–
The fans were really out of control and some of them broke down in tears after seeing him walk around shirtless! In fact, sometimes the hysteria caused a lot of trouble for the filmmakers during the day. There were times where they’d line up the lighting and actors, start rolling, call action…and no sooner had Kristen begun to run towards Robert, they’d shout “Stop!” Then they’d begin yelling at us through the speaker in Italian to look at the door, because so many people had been staring at Rob. We had all been told to keep our hoods up and our cloaks closed, and to look only at the church—not what was happening between Rob and Kristen.
Check out these amazing pictures of Dakota Fanning and Ashley Greene all dressed up as Alice Cullen and Jane of the Volturi while they were filming in Italy! Look–it’s Jane’s dress! Woah!
