As we first reported on Twitter on Friday, ET Canada has an interview with New Moon star Jackson Rathbone. The Canada-only video from the official site has now been placed on YouTube so the rest of the world can now take a look, too.
During the Twilight fan convention in Orlando last weekend, Twilight actor Jackson Rathbone decided to take advantage of the EyeCon tattoo artist and got some new ink. Regina tells Pillowbiters that–
Today while Kellan was speaking to his adoring fans during the Q&A Session, Jackson had the EyeCon Tattoo Artist give him a second tattoo. I heard that it was a heart (maybe on his back) and perhaps said, ‘I Love Mom.’
Radar Oniine has a new interview with New Moon vamp Jackson Rathbone, where he reveals among other things his love for Vanilla Ice and which of the New Moon stars can lift the most weight in the gym–
RadarOnline: Your character in Twilight, Jasper, is so withdrawn and cold. Do you think fans are a little hesitant to approach you in public? Especially compared with some of your castmates?
Jackson Rathbone: People rarely recognize me, which is actually pretty sweet. I try to change my look in every role I take on: clothing, hairstyle, walk, facial expression, and the way I speak. Sometimes it’s subtle and sometimes it’s not, but as I am not a blonde in real life, people often do the double look before approaching me.
RO: You said in a recent interview that all the Cullen guys worked out together in the hotel gym during filming. So tell us: who can bench press the most?
JR: That would be Kellan [Lutz]. He truly is Emmett.
For those of you in the Southeast, Eyecon is going on in Orlando this weekend–Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, Edi Gathegi and Twilight hand model Kimbra Hickey will be there.
It looks like tickets might still be available, so those in the area may want to check it out!
Are you wondering where the stars of New Moon will go to after they finish their work in Vancouver and Italy for the Twilight sequel? Jaunted has roundup of what some of the stars will be up to after they’ve finished their New Moon duties–
New York City. Robert Pattinson, who plays the 104-year-old virgin Edward Cullen, will be shooting the romance “Remember Me” directed by Allen Coulter (“Hollywoodland”) and cowritten by “Rachel Getting Married”’s Jenny Lumet. What to tell your folks: You just really want to get into art, and where better to experience the art world than the galleries of Chelsea? Alone?
Chicago and the ‘burbs. Kellan Lutz (Emmett) will be shooting the new “Nightmare on Elm Street” in the sleepy suburb of Barrington, Illinois — and they could need some extra scared teenagers! What to tell your folks: You’ve landed a sweet part-time job at the Taste of Chicago. Even if they think you’re faking it, how will they ever find you at the city’s biggest food fair?
Vietnam. Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) will be shooting “The Last Airbender” for M. Night Shyamalan, in which he plays a stubborn teenage warrior opposite “Slumdog Millionaire”’s Dev Patel. What to tell your folks: Ooh. This is a hard sell! But there’s always the ol’ volunteering-to-boost-your-college-application excuse. Just make sure you actually volunteer somewhere so you have something else to talk about.
If you’re in the Los Angeles area, there is going to be a free screening of Jackson Rathbone’s new film called Dread.
We just got word that there will be a free screening of Dread, the latest Clive Barker adaptation, on Tuesday, May 5th. This is your chance to catch the Anthony DiBlasi’s film – starring Jackson Rathbone, Shaun Evans, Hanne Steen and Laura Donnelly – early. Check out the invitation below and RSVP to the e-mail you see there. [Link]
Jackson Rathbone has a new interview with the tattoo rag Inked where he chats a bit about his own tattoo, plus a bit about the wild times earlier in his life–
INKED: Let’s talk tattoos. How many do you have?
JACKSON RATHBONE: I only have one right now, but I definitely plan on getting more. My friends and I were kind of the bad kids in school, the troublemakers. We went to Interlochen Arts Academy, this really great boarding school in Michigan, and there were six of us who were always acting out against authority. The school administration was like, “Stay away from those boys-they’re ‘Lost Boys,’” so that’s what everyone called us. When I was 18, I got a tattoo that says, “I’m lost.”
What kind of shenanigans did you guys get into?
Remember the prohibition era? It was kind of like that.
Did you have a speakeasy in your dorm room?
Let’s just say we had a lot of alcohol on the premises that we weren’t supposed to have. We kept whiskey in shampoo bottles and vodka in conditioner bottles. A few of my friends were actually expelled.
Check out this video of New Moon’s Jackson Rathbone playing music with his band 100 Monkeys at the Rio Theater in Vancouver last weekend. What do you think of the mohawk he’s rockin?
Nylon Magazine has a new profile of Jackson Rathbone, where he shows off his newly cut hair for The Last Airbender. and talks about “The Cullen Family Band” with Kristen and Rob. Check it out at their website.
A reader over at Cullen Boys Anonymous sent in a report of a great weekend in Vancouver, where she had the opportunity to see New Moon cast members Kellan Lutz, Rachelle LeFevre, and Kristen Stewart. She also caught an instore performance by Jackson Rathbone’s 100 Monkeys. They caught up with Kellan during a jog–
As he was jogging by we got his attention and asked if he wouldn’t mind signing an autograph for us. He consented but wanted us to move closer to the hotel entrance to do it. He’s still jogging, so we start jogging so we don’t make him wait for us. Now you must realize that I’m in 3″ heels and definitely not a jogger myself. He starts kidding around with us and running in circles around us and says that if we want an autograph we gotta catch him, I have no hope in hell in catching him and I’m worried that I’m going to trip in the shoes I’m wearing. So I retort “I’m in heels, you don’t want me pulling a Bella and falling on my face trying to catch you” . He stopped and said “No I don’t want that, I would feel really bad if you hurt yourself”
