There’s a an amazing new video on the official Twilight Saga: New Moon video podcast on iTunes, and it’s a Volturi Featurette.
It shows brand new behind-the-scenes clips of the filming of new Moon as well as interviews with cast members such as Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen), Dakota Fanning (Jane) and Jamie Campbell-Bower (Caius) There’s even a bit with author Stephenie Meyer as well!
Make-Up Artist Magazine will feature New Moon’s Dakota Fanning as Jane on it’s cover of the November/December issue. Writer Wendy Helfenbaum talks with make up artist Norma Hill-Patton on how to make vampires glow in New Moon. This issue won’t be available on newsstands until November 11th, but you can pre-order your copy here!
Wow! Dakota’s make-up looks fierce on the cover! Oh, I know a few vamp ladies who would love to make Rob glow!!! :) Rob would get touch ups constantly……Rob needs a little more red to his lips, let me work on that for another hour….Rob needs more shading around his V area, let me work on that too…..all night. LOL!
Warning: The video is 12 mins long! However, Tiffany does give a step by step demonstration on how to have your make up like the Volturi guard’s Jane. She actually does a great job!
What do you think? Any of you going to give it a try?
People Magazine has a new issue featuring never-seen-before pictures of Volturi members – Jane, Demetri, Aro, Alec, and Caius. We broke the news yesterday as a NewMoonMovie.org reader was generous enough to scan the images from the mag and share them with us!
In the People Magazine article they state -
In New Moon, the second installment in Stephenie Meyer’s wildly popular Twilight saga, readers are first introduced to the ancient ruling class of vampires known as the Volturi. Determined to capture their creepy menace for his screen version opening Nov. 20, New Moon director Chris Weitz has given them custom-crafted blood-red eyes.
“They’re all hand-painted, specially manufactured contacts,” Weitz tells PEOPLE. “They’re opaque red, almost like preying mantis eyes. You can’t really see into them. There’s something terribly off-putting about it.”
British actor Michael Sheen (The Queen) plays Aro, leader of the Italian blood-sucking clan. Although Aro and his brothers Marcus (Christopher Heyerdahl) and Caius (Jamie Campbell Bower) have been “alive” for thousands of years, Weitz says he “deliberately” gave them a younger look in the film – for which he credits author Meyer.
Check out the detail on Caius and Aro’s chairs! Is the Volturi ‘lair’ what you imagined thus far?
Dakota Fanning looks absolutely creepy in this first official pic of the actress as Jane of the Volturi in New Moon.
Jane is wearing a somber dress with a serious yet cute dark brown bow and the Volturi crest necklace peeking out. Behind her is Volterra, Italy in tones of brown.
You’ll have to buy the September 7th issue of People Magazine, as they have some exclusive new pics of the Volturi.
Here we see Jane looking fab with red eyes with Edward in tow, Demetri clenching Alice’s throat and Aro with Caius and Alec in the throne room.
In the article, New Moon director Chris Weitz notes:
I think they’re magnificently scary and at the same time very elegant, so that’s how I wanted to portray them onscreen. I wanted to steer clear of any clichés-Dracula’s castle sort of stuff. When you see their lair, it’s actually quite classically beautiful.
New pictures of Dakota Fanning, who plays the creeptasic Volturi Guard member Jane, on set of the Runaways. Looking very tired yet comfy! Wonder when ‘those’ pictures will be officially released? you know … starts with V ends with an i?
You can view the rest of the pics of Dakota on set here and here.
Rounding out the media outlets that visited the set of New Moon in Vancouver is Rotten Tomatoes. They have a set report where they go into detail on the Volturi interior shots. This description of Jane sounds amazing–(spoilers!)–
Focus fell particularly on Fanning, dressed in a soft, vintage-style white dress, a dark velvet cape, and Mary Janes. Her blonde hair swept into a bun, with pale skin and scarlet lips and dark eye makeup, she had the look of a textbook Little Red Riding Hood — albeit one with blood-red eyes and a steely eeriness about her. “She’s immune to all of us,” Michael Sheen as Aro mused, directing his warrior to turn her pain-inducing powers on Bella. “Shall we, Jane?”
With nary a peep, Fanning’s eyes lit up. She turned her head towards Bella/Kristen Stewart, and gave a slight, cruel smile. Well, the hint of a smile, really. The tension was palpable; in that miniscule movement I was sold on Fanning — at 15 years of age, one of New Moon’s seasoned veterans — and her ability to convey unadulterated malice. On film, you’ll see her bring poor Robert Pattinson to his knees, and you might even enjoy it.
