Kellan Lutz

Kellan Lutz Chateau MarmontKellan Lutz is taking a snowboarding trip soon, he told the LA Dish Rag. —

“I love snowboarding but I can’t tell that to the studio because I’m not supposed to be snowboarding just before shooting.”

Well, no one from Summit’s gonna read The Dish Rag, so you can relax.

He then has two weeks of New Moon shooting to prepare for, although he says the vamps don’t take a big part in New Moon–

After the snowboarding, which we’re not going to ever mention again, he has two weeks of shooting on the set of “New Moon.” But it’s pretty low-stress.

“This one is not about the vampires at all. It’s more about the werewolves. Taylor’s going to be great. He’s really stepped up to the role and he deserves it.”

Kellan Lutz Twilight There’s a brief new interview with Kellan Lutz, where he voices his confidence in the New Moon script as well as director Chris Weitz’s performance so far–

“We have an awesome cast, like the first one,” he said. “I love the script. The book was a little slow for me at the beginning, but this script, I like it even better than Twilight.”

The actor is also enjoying working with director Chris Weitz, who made American Pie and The Golden Compass.

“It’s really nice to have someone take the weight onto their shoulders, as the first movie, Twilight, was for us,” Kellan said. “There’s a lot of pressure on Chris. In the first week of rehearsals he had every question ready for an answer.

200904060801.jpg If you haven’t seen this Scholastic interview from November, it’s worth reading–especially since it’s a kinda slow news day. I really liked this part that Kellan Lutz talked about–

SNO: Have you had any crazy fan encounters?

Kellan: It’s definitely crazy being Emmett and being a part of this amazing experience of Twilight and having the fans. When we were in Oregon, somehow [the fans] found our hotel rooms, especially mine. We were going to get some dinner and I just got out of the shower so I wasn’t prepared to answer the door. I heard a shaking voice, “Emmett, we’re your fans,” so I threw some clothes on as fast as I could and there were two lovely ladies with a basket of goodies for all of us. They were staying in the room across from me.

He also said

Kellan hasn’t let his newly found fame get to this head, though. “I think it’s awesome when girl fans come up and talk to me.”

200904051555.jpg Amanda Bell over at the Examiner covers two odd little video portraits of Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene by videographer Tyler Shields. Of the Kellan Lutz video, which features the composition Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky, made famous by Fantasia, she says

Dressed to the nines, of course, Lutz takes off his jacket and slowly maims it with a chainsaw. The video was posted by Tyler Shields, a photographer and director, who labels the vid “portrait,” with his commentators saying they can’t wait to see what he could do with Lutz’s co-stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, amongst others.

More somber and contemplative in mood is the video featuring Ashley Greene, where she wrestles with getting out of the way of an oncoming train while at the same time putting herself in front of it, set to the song “No Surprises” by Radiohead.

There are quite a few other celebrity video portraits on his channel, but be sure to check out the one of Matt Dallas! Wowzers!

[thanks for the tip, Emma!]

200904040025.jpgThe Slate has a new interview with Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, where they talk at length on their experiences filmning Twilight, filming Warrior, paparazzi attention and much more–

Q: What are the downsides of being famous?

K: It’s not really a down side, but you definitely sell your privacy, so a lot of things that you want to do, or you used to do, just going shopping or going to the grocery store, or you know, I went to circuit city which is an appliance store, and I brought Lost on DVD, and I was followed buying Lost, and it’s weird. A lot of times, no one likes you 100% of the time, so when you have people criticizing certain things, you know, thank god I’m not on the internet, like some actors, you know, they have to see what comments are made on IMDB or stuff like that and it kind of breaks them down a little bit in a way and it’s really kind of sad to go that route. But just again, you know, no-one’s going to like you 100% of the time, and it sucks for people who don’t like us for certain roles you do, but tough luck!

A: Yeah, same thing! It’s simply the scrutiny, the scrutiny can be a little over the top sometimes, and then the insane,I mean it’s kind of on both sides of the spectrum, it’s amazing that we get to travel as much as we do but it also takes a toll on your sleep schedule and on your relationships and seeing family and stuff like that. But yeah, they’re really the only two things really.

Check out the whole interview over at RTE 2FM: The Slate.

Kellan Lutz Naked Gay Leather FLaunt

Kellan Lutz posed for this photoshoot for Flaunt magazine recently. Quite a few people sent this in–I’ve had about 15 people email me about it (thanks everyone!). I held off on posting it till tonight so that those of you who check the site from work don’t have a hot flash in the company of your peers.

I wanted Kellan to be my cubby bear before, but with these pics…..well let’s just say I’m thinking a trip to Alaska is in my future. Kellan Lutz does his best impression of a ’70s gay leather porno model, without making it looking cheesy at all. Grrrrr.

How did he get so buff? Celebrity-Mania has this to say:

In a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, Kellan Lutz revealed the secret to his muscled body. “I love to swim. I have a pool in my backyard,” he told Ryan who asked him how he got his “eight-pack” tummy.

In the same interview, Kellan also revealed his love for candy, admitting “I have a candy drawer and I’m terrible with it. Gummy bears, gummy worms, chocolate, everything. I eat so much.”

Kellan Lutz Ashley Green Cruise Alaska

200904022020.jpg In what may be the most intense fan meet-and-greet opportunity yet, in August 2010 there is going to be an Alaskan Cruise for Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene to join a boat full of Twilight fans for a weeklong journey into all things Twilight. The cruise will featureTwilight trivia, a costume ball, an autograph session, a charity auction, a vendors room and “All Twilight….All Week Long!”

This dream journey will run you between $1000-$3300 depending on what room you decide to stay in. Before departure in Seattle, there can also be a separate tour of Forks, WA.

Does anyone think they might be interested in joining this cruise? I’m a fan and all, but I’m not sure I could survive that long on a boat with a bunch of hardcore fans–I’m a landlubber! The exception, of course, is if Kellan whisked me away to his room for some late night beer pong and cuddle sessions. <ahem>

Robert Pattinson Jacksone Rathbone Kellan Lutz Fan Peter Facinelli Vancouver

Two lucky fans met up with the cream of the vamp crop in a Vancouver restaurant recently–

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to chill with some “vampires” a couple of weeks ago. The guys were very friendly and flirty (especially the guy that plays Emmett) and quite possibly drunk. Seriously cool guys.
