Collider scored a heck of an interview with four, count ‘em, four of the New Moon cast last night at the premiere of Summit’s new film Push. Collider interviewed Edi Gathegi/Laurent, Rachel Lefevre/Victoria, Ashley Greene/Alice Cullen and Kellan Lutz/Emmett Cullen. They talked about the script, the mall tour, sugar addictions, Vancouver, Italy, ….the list goes on! Check out the three videos of the four:

MTV has a great interview up with Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent. During the interview, Taylor Lautner called him–

“Taylor and I are going to his parents’ place for dinner tonight — and then go to the gym,” he said, adding that the duo were getting together to celebrate Lautner’s recent re-signing as Jacob Black. “We’re going to celebrate tonight. … You should see this kid! He’s jacked. He’s taking it seriously

“We’ve worked out in every city on our tour,” Edi said of his 16-year-old spotter. “If you see him, you’ll know immediately. This kid is so strong right now, it is unreal. He has achieved with his body what people with steroids cannot achieve. The only way I can describe it is that God has given him this time for this growth spurt and this body right now.”

Gathegi also had a bit to say about the new director for New Moon–

Commenting on the directorial musical chairs, Gathegi said he has yet to meet the new man in charge of the series, Chris Weitz. “Catherine [Hardwicke] was a doll. I loved that woman. I think she made the decisions she made for her reasons,” he said. “Now I’m looking forward to the future. I’m looking forward to working with Chris. I think he’s very capable. He’s got that experience with huge pictures, with ‘The Golden Compass.’ He’s going to make it beautiful. I loved ‘American Pie,’ so his track record is very promising for me. And I heard he’s great with actors. I think ‘New Moon’ is going to be really good. … He’s up to his neck in things to do, so he’s not concerned with [meeting with the returning actors yet]. We’ll meet on set.”

He hasn’t read the script yet, but apparently Robert Pattinson has!–

As for the moment, Gathegi said only half-jokingly, he’s just trying to get a script to read. “I’m going to fire someone, because Robert [Pattinson] read it. He’s like a supporting role in the freakin’ film!” the actor smiled, threatening to call Mr. Pattinson on his cell phone. “Nah, he’s in London now. I don’t want to make any long-distance calls. I’m cheap.”

On the red carpet for Edi Gathegi’s newest film My Bloody Valentine 3-D last night, he spoke with Shock Till You Drop about his role in New Moon:

On the red carpet for that film last night, Gathegi told us he’s currently shooting a pilot, then it’s on to the Twilight follow-up New Moon, the entry populated by vampires and werewolves.

“I get to play another bad guy,” he grinned, to which we reply: Another? “Well, the same guy [Laurent] but I get to reprise the badness. In the first book I’m bad but good. In the next one, I’m bad. We start shooting in a few months.”

My Bloody Valentine 3D opens up next Friday, January 16th.

Edi Gathegi Ready to Bite into New Moon

Laurent, played by Edi Gathegi, is getting in on the talk about the New Moon movie. He told press that:

Gathegi has already joked about his eagerness to “kick some werewolf butt – and then die.” So needless to say, he was excited by the news that cameras will begin rolling on “New Moon” in the spring.

“I am more than excited to hear about ‘New Moon’ getting the green light,” Edi told us. “It’s going to be cold up in Oregon again, but that’s what I live for. The work that is, not the cold. It’s been a hell of a ride, and I’m ecstatic to be able to re-live it all over again.”
