Here’s a brief look at The Twilight Saga’s New Moon Featurette of the Volturi. The New Moon cast, producer and the author Stephenie Meyers discuss the making of the Volturi. “They’re a very powerful group.”-
It looks amazing! Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning, Cameron Bright, Daniel Cudmore, Jamie Campbell Bower, Christopher Heyerdahl, and Stephenie Meyer, the queen of Twilight, discuss the Volturi and Bella and Edward’s ‘meeting’ with them.
“He doesn’t have a hope in hell of winning the fight.” -Robert Pattinson
In a recent interview with Collider Michael Sheen talked about taking on the role of New Moon Volturi vampire Aro along with his upcoming roles in Damned United, Alice in Wonderland and Underworld 4 -
So going into “Twilight: New Moon”, were you nervous about taking this role because you had already come from a franchise like that, or were you more excited for the role? What was your thought process and what was it like making the film with all the hubbub around it?
Michael Sheen: I was mainly excited about it because I knew I would make my daughter very happy. Up front, that was the main reason. And then I read the books and I really enjoyed the books. I didn’t think I was going to, but I really did enjoy them. Then I was concerned that the fans of “Twilight” would be like, “But he’s played a werewolf; we can’t have him as a vampire,” and all that. But it hasn’t been like that. And because it was a very different character and I could sort of lose myself in it, hopefully people won’t have a problem with me having been in this other werewolf/vampire franchise. So when I went to do it, I just loved the character. I relished the opportunity to be there and be part of it. Now I’m just very pleased to have a whole new generation of people I can scare.

In a new interview with New Moon Volturi leader Aro aka Michael Sheen he talks about how tight security was on set. He also touched base on why he wanted the role as Aro -
He said: “I remember someone whose job was containment and I thought: ‘What does that actually mean? Does that mean stopping people from getting on the set?’
“And it wasn’t, it was to stop people on the set taking pictures and sending them out.”
He said: “The best thing about it is I’m now a poster on my own daughter’s wall, which is about the best thing that could ever possibly happen.
“When they first asked me if I wanted to do it, I hadn’t read the books or anything, so I had to ask my daughter what the character was like without tipping her off… because I didn’t want to get her all excited if I didn’t end up doing it.
“She said she thought Aro, my character, was bald but he’s got long black hair so I hope I haven’t ruined it for her by not being bald. She cried when I told her.
“No matter what happens I have to be at the premiere in LA. That’s the whole reason she wanted me to do it, so she could go to the premiere.”
Twilight is nominated as Blockbuster of the year. While Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan, was nominated for Best Actress. Michelle Sheen, who plays Volturi leader Aro in New Moon, was nominated for Best Actor in Frost/Nixon and The Damned United.
Voting closes on August 28th, 2009. The results will be announced in October.
