Chapter 24: Vote

“Edward loved me.  The bond forged between us was not one that could be broken by absence, distance, or time.  And no matter how much more special or beautiful or brilliant or perfect than me he might be, he was as irreversibly altered as I was.  As I would always belong to him, so would he always be mine.”

I feel the vote was comical and serious all rolled into one.  Anything that includes the entire Cullen coven is magnificent!

• Well it seems as if we are back to old times again.  Edward takes Bella onto his back and they fly to the Cullen Manor, to start the voting process
• Pg 528  We finally get a first hand account of what Edward went through during his utterly ridiculous 7 month separation from Bella  “You were better at it than I was, you know.  Surviving.  You at least, made an effort.  You got up in the morning, tried to be normal for Charlie, followed the pattern of your life.  When I wasn’t actively tracking, I was…totally useless.  I couldn’t be around my family-I couldn’t be around anyone.  I’m embarrassed to admit that I more or less curled up into a ball and let the misery have me.”  Oh Edward!!!
• Pg. 532  Edward comes up with the most ridiculous plan ever.  He plans to simply hide Bella if the Volturi come looking for her…yeah like that’ll fly.  “Do you remember Demetri?  He finds people-that’s his talent, why they keep him.  His ability is loosely related to what I do, or what Aro does.  He catches the…flavor?  I don’t know how to describe it…the tenor…of someone’s mind, and then he follows that.  But after Aro’slittle experiments, well…”  “You think he won’t be able to find me.”  “I’m sure of it.  He totally relies on that other sense.  When it doesn’t work with you, they’ll all be blind.”  “And how does that solve anything?”  “Quite obviously, Alice will be able to tell when they’re planning a visit, and I’ll hide you.  They’ll be helpless.  It will be like looking for a needle in a haystack!”  “Excellent plan my brother.”  “No.”  Rosalie hissed.  “Absolutely not.”  I agreed.  “Nice.”  Jasper’s voice was appreciative.  “Idiots.” Alice murmured.  Lmaoo I Love love love this family, and Edward needs a new plan.
• Pg 533  After Bella gets all mellow dramatic, and feels as if Edward doesn’t want her in his family, finally the votes are in.  Jalice say yes.  Rose says no, obviously.  “Let me explain.  I don’t mean that I have any aversion to you as a sister.  It’s just that…this is not the life I would have chosen for myself.  I wish there had been someone there to vote no for me.” Aww Rose!  This is why I cant outright dislike her.  Emmett, says Hell yes! lol.  Esme says yes, Carlisle gives an indirect yes as well.  Edward then flips out and leaves the room.
• Pg. 535  Edward is now destroying property in the Cullen home apparently, which annoys me since Carlisle is the only one in that house with a job!  Bella turns to Alice and asks her to begin the transformation, but Alice is reluctant.  “Um, Bella.  I don’t think I’m ready for that yet.  I don’t have any idea how to not kill you.”  Um yeah, let’s not roll with Alice on this one, can we get someone else?
• Pg. 540  The marriage proposal.  “Marry me first.”  “Okay.  What’s the punchline?  Edward please be serious.”  “I am one hundred percent serious.”  “I’m only eighteen.”  “Well, I’m nearly a hundred and ten.  It’s time I think I settled down.”   Cute.
• Charlie and Bella finally go head to head, and she acts like a spoiled brat in my opinion.  She did just leave him for 3 days with no word or reason, he’s a parent for goodness sake.  In the end Bella is legally an adult and the only say Charlie has, is what goes on in his house.

So what’s your vote?  I think she needed to stay human for now.  She has plenty of years to become immortal.  Just not right now.  I’ve always pushed for Bella to stay human anyway, because of her age, I realize she will get old and Edward will be forever 17, but when the aging begins then she can turn.  Any thoughts?

Chapter 23: The Truth

“I’m here and I love you.  I have always loved you, and I will always love you.  I was thinking of you, seeing your face in my mind, every second that I was away.  When I told you that I didn’t want you, it was the very blackest kind of blasphemy.”

*Sobs*  Gosh, after all he has done, and yet…I have to unconditionally forgive him…Oh Edward!  Now that we’ve got Italy behind us, now comes the time of healing, and planning for the future. Basically I will do a recap of this chapter

• After being apart for 7 months Edward and Bella have finally reunited.  They are now in her bedroom after Bella passed out for about 14 hours of much needed sleep. 
• Bella awakens and thinks she is either dead, or dreaming, when in fact Edward is really back in the flesh!  Edward continues to try to prove to Bella that he is indeed real, and in bed next to her. (Lucky duck)
• Edward explained that in between obsessing over Bella in every minute of everyday, he managed to squeeze some tracking into his daily routine but alas; he sucked big time at it.
• “Bella come lately”  Realizes she isn’t dead and comes to her senses and listen’s to Edward as he pours his heart out to her.
• Pg. 505  “I owe you an apology.  No, of course I owe you much, much more than that.  But you have to know that I had no idea.  I didn’t realize the mess I was leaving behind.  I thought it was safe for you here.  So safe.  I had no idea that Victoria would come back.  I’ll admit, when I saw her that one time, I was paying much more attention to James’s thoughts.  But I just didn’t see that she had this kind of response in her.  That she even had such a tie to him.  Not that there’s any excuse for what I left you to face.  When I heard what you told Alice-what she saw herself-when I realized that you had to put your life in the hands of werewolves, immature, volatile, the worse thing out there besides Victoria herself.  Please know that I had no idea of any of this.  I feel sick, sick to my core, even now, when I can see and feel you safe in my arms,  I am the most miserable excuse for…”  I 1,000% agree, sorry Ed, but you know you were dead wrong for leaving Bella
• Pg. 513  Looks like our little girl has grown up guys.  I love love love how Bella has played it cool since she reunited with Edward.  Not really jumping the gun, she always kept it in her mind that the reunion was temporary and that he would be leaving soon.  But here she gives it to him straight.  “Don’t promise me anything.”  “You think I’m lying to you now?”  “No-not lying.  You could mean it…now.  But what about tomorrow, when you think about all the reasons you left in the first place?  Or next month, when Jasper takes a snap at me?”   Yeah, what about that Eddie?  You tell ‘em Bells!
• Pg. 514  Everyone grab your tissues…you ready?  “Before you Bella, my life was like a moonless night.  Very dark, but there were stars-points of light and reason.   And then you shot across my sky like a meteor.  Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty.  When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, every thing went black.  Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light.  I couldn’t see the stars anymore.  And there was no more reason for anything.”  *sobs*
• So Edward and his “brilliant” plans; even with the Volturi hot on their trail, Edward informs Bella he has no intentions on turning her into a vampire, even when she is old, wrinkly, and grey while he is young fresh and scrumptious.  Sick!
• Pg.  521  Our young Bella has truly stepped it up and is showing her feisty side, and lays down the law on Mr. Cullen.  “Stay here.”  He suggested, but his expression wasn’t hopeful.  “No dice.  But you go ahead and make yourself at home.”  Lmao!  Bella must have picked up her sarcasm from Jacob Black the king of sarcasm.  “Okay, I’ll give you a ride.”  “Either way.  But you probably should be there, too.  And why is that?”  “Because you’re extraordinarily opinionated, and I’m sure you’ll want a chance to air your views.”  “My views on which subject?”  “This isn’t just about you anymore.  You’re not the center of the universe, you know.  If you’re going to bring the Volturi down on us over something as stupid as leaving me human, then your family ought to have  a say.”  “A say in what?”  “My mortality.  I’m putting it to a vote.”   Smh.

Well, honeymoon’s over, I guess.   How do you feel?  Would you have forgiven Edward?  If so would it have been so easy?

Chapter 22: Flight

“Shh, Bella, shh,”  ”Edward said as he pulled me to the sofa farthest away from the curious human at the desk.  “I think she’s having hysterics.  Maybe you should slap her,” Alice suggested.

Maybe, someone should slap her, all this is just madness!  But I love the drama, let’s get right to it.

• Pg. 488  Edward and Bella have a very intense reunion!  “As I stared into his too beautiful face, trying to understand the change, it suddenly struck me that I was really here, in Edward’s arms, however fleetingly, and that we were-not at this exact moment-about to be killed.  “Oh Edward.”  I cried, and I was sobbing again.  It was such a stupid reaction. The tears were too thick for me to see his face again, and that was inexcusable.  I only had until sunset for sure.  Like a fairy tale again, with deadlines that ended the magic.  I wrapped my arms around his neck-what was the worst he could do?  Just push me away-and hugged my self closer to him.  “Is it really sick for me to be happy right now?”  I asked.  My voice broke twice.  He didn’t push me away.  He pulled me tight against his ice-hard chest, so tight it was hard to breathe, even with my lungs securely intact.  “I know exactly what you mean,”  He whispered.  “But we have lots of reasons to be happy.  For one we’re alive…and together.”  OME! 
• Pg. 493  Thank goodness, they are finally out of doom-dom.  Getting as far away from those freaks underground.  Alice has become “Patty Larceny”, and has acquired her second stolen car in about 8 hours.  “I’m sorry…there wasn’t much to choose from.”  “It’s fine Alice, they can’t all be 911 turbos.”  She sighed.  “I may gave to acquire one of those legally.  It was fabulous.”  “I’ll get you one for Christmas,”  Edward promised.  “Yellow.”  she told him.  Lol
• Pg. 495  Okay kiddies close your eyes, it gets kind of hot and steamy on the plane ride home..teehee  “So I kept drinking soda, and resisting even the urge to blink.  Edward seemed perfectly content to hold me in his arms, his fingers tracing my face again and again.  I touched his face too.  I couldn’t help myself, though I was afraid it would hurt me later, when I was alone again.  He continued to kiss my hair, my forehead, my wrists…but never my lips, and that was good.”  Someone pass me a fan!
• Pg. 496  The gang’s all here!  Gosh how much have we missed these guys?  I really hope they show this scene in the movie.  I’m dying to see the entire clan at the airport, but most of all I want to see the reunion of Jalice!   “Esme reached for me, hugging me fiercely, yet awkwardly, because Edward kept his arms around me, too.  “Thank you so much,  She said in my ear.  Then she threw her arms around Edward, and she looked like she would be crying if that were possible.  “You will never put me through that again,”  She nearly growled.  “Sorry, Mom.”  “Thank you, Bella,”  Carlisle said.  “We owe you.” 
• Pg. 496-497  Here comes the little troublemaker herself…Rosalie.  “Don’t.”  Esme whispered.  “She feels awful.”  She should.”  Edward said, making no attempt to keep his voice down.  “Let her make amends.”  Esme pleaded.  “We’ll ride with Alice and Jasper.”  Edward glowered at the absurdly lovely vampire waiting for us.  “Please Edward.”  I said.  I didn’t want to ride with Rosalie any more than he seemed to, but I caused enough discord in his family.  Umm yes Bella you have.  “Edward.”  Rosalie began.  “I know.”  “Bella?”  Rosalie asked softly.  “Yes, Rosalie?”  “I’m so very sorry, Bella.  I fell wretched about every part of this, and so grateful that you were brave enough to go save my brother after what I did.  Please say you’ll forgive me.”  Of course, Rosalie.” She got off scott free if you ask me!  And also to me throughout the books, it seems as if Esme has a tighter bond with Rosalie.  I wonder if it’s because she yearned for a child so badly when her baby boy died, and now she has found closure in Rosalie; a person that feeds off that extra attention and affection, someone to make a fuss over her.  Just a thought.
• Pg. 498  Back to forks…and Charlie the grouch!  This is the one time I wouldn’t want to be Bella right now. “Bella!”  He shouted from some distance.  “Charlie.”  I mumbled.  “Shh.”  Edward whispered.  “It’s okay; you’re home and safe.  Just sleep.”  “I can’t believe you have the nerve to show your face here.”  Charlie bellowed at Edward, his voice much closer now.  “Stop it, Dad.”  “What’s wrong with her?”  Charlie demanded.  “She’s just very tired, Charlie.  Please let her rest.”  “Don’t tell me what to do!  Give her to me.  Get your hands off her!”  Edward tried to pass me to Charlie, but I clung to him with locked, tenacious fingers.  I could feel my dad yanking on my arm.  “Cut it out Dad.  Be mad at me.”   “You bet I will be.  Get inside.”  Edward’s arms caught me before I hit the concrete.  “Just let me get her upstairs.”  Edward said.  “Then, I’ll leave.”  “No.”  I cried, panicking.  I hadn’t gotten my answers yet.  He had to stay for at least that much, didn’t he?  “I won’t be far.”  Edward promised, whispering so low in my ear that Charlie didn’t have a hope of hearing.  I didn’t hear Charlie answer, but Edward headed into the house.  My open eyes only made it till the stairs.  The last thing I felt was Edward’s cool hands prying my fingers loose from his shirt.  

Well I’m team Charlie at this point.  From a parent’s point of view, and all of you who are minors here already know how your parents would react.  And with Charlie being the chief of police, how does it look when his only child can just pick up and leave the country?  Yes Bella saved her true love, but she left her father in his time of need.  Yes Edward was going to die and I understand why Bella felt compelled to go to Italy…I never want to be in her predicament!  What would you have done?

Chapter 21: Verdict

“Aro reached out, as if to shake my hand, and pressed his insubstantial-looking skin against mine.  It was hard, but felt brittle-shale rather than granite-and even colder than I expected…”

100 pages to go!  Ok confession time.  I’m more than mesmerized and fascinated by the Volturi.  The entire collective.  The way they live, their story, and their livelihood…and Jane…well, will converse about her in a minute

• Pg. 464  We get introduced to Gianna and Alec(hotness!) I was just as shocked to read about “Gianna the human girl”  in the middle of a vampire dungeon, but then again Bella is basically the same.  Enter Alec.  “They send you out for one and you come back with two…and a half.  Nice work.”  Alec chuckled, and examined me as I clung to Edward’s side.  “And this is the cause of all the trouble?”  These Volturi are quite smug aren’t they?  Then Felix yells dibs on Bella! Smh
• Pg. 465  So like I said I have a secret obsession with the Volturi, they continue to intrigue me, as well as baffle me.  And why are Jane and Alec holding hands?  Aren’t they supposed to be twins?  Someone help me out with these two.
• Pg. 467  Everyone enters the room where The entire Volturi, and the rest of their guards are(minus Marcus & Caius).  Aro’s behavior right from the start, is super bizarre, and why in the world is Aro kissing Jane on the lips? Did I miss something?
• Pg. 468  “I’m sorry we haven’t been introduced properly at all, have we?  It’s just that I feel like I know you already, and I tend to get ahead of myself.  Your brother introduced us yesterday, in a peculiar way.  You see, I share some of your brother’s talent, only I am limited in a way that he is not.”   So let me get this straight.  The Cullen’s & the Hale’s have never met the Volturi?  Only Carlisle?
• Pg. 470-473  Aro continues to prolong the inevitable, by dragging out all these useless formalities, and not to mention making the hairs on everyone’s necks stand straight up.  The way Aro continues with his back & forth monologue is enough to make anyone wonder if the three thousand year old vamp, hasn’t gone insane.  Although I must say this, Aro seems a thousand times nicer in this book, than in the previews we’ve seen for the movie.  In the movie, he seems downright spooky
• Pg. 474  The wrath of Jane.  When Jane unleashes her power to incapacitate, on Edward, she proves exactly why she is my least favorite member of the Volturi.  I feel Jane is a big bully and cannot defend herself so she uses her power to handle that because she is afraid of confrontation(yes a vampire who’s afraid, but that’s what I think)
• Pg. 476  Marcus & Caius have arrived. Aro tries desperately to get Alice & Edward to join The Volturi(yikes)
• Pg. 478  Caius finally speaks ”She knows too much.  You have exposed our secrets.”  “There are a few humans in on your charade here, as well,”  Edward reminded him, and I though of the pretty receptionist below.  “Yes, but when they are no longer useful to us, they will serve to sustain us.  That is not your plan for this one.  If she betrays our secrets, are you prepared to destroy her?  I think not.  Nor do you intend to make her one of us, therefore she is a vulnerability.  Though it is true for this, only her life is forfeit.  You may leave if you wish.”  Nice guy huh? He even give them a choice…whatever
• Pg. 479  Our beloved, precious, amazing Alice once again comes in to save the day!  “And then Alice stepped away from us,  forward toward Aro.  We turned to watch her.  Her hand was raised like his.  She didnt say anything, and Aro waved off his anxious guard as they moved to block her approach.  Aro met her halfway, and took her hand  with an eager, acquisitive glint in his eyes.  He bent his head over their hands, his eyes closing as he concentrated.  Alice was motionless, her face blank.  I heard Edward’s teeth snap together.  No one moved.  Aro seemed frozen over Alice’s hand.  The seconds passed and I grew more and more stressed, wondering how much time would pass before it was too much time.  Before it meant somthing was wrong-more wrong than it already was.  Another agonizing moment passed, and then Aro’s voice broke the silence.  “Ha, ha,ha,” He laughed, his head still bent forward.  He looked up slowly, his eyes bright with excitement.  “That was fascinating!”  Alice smiled dryly.  “I’m glad you enjoyed it.”   “To see the things you’ve seen-especially the ones that haven’t happened yet!”  He shook his head in wonder.  “But that will.”  She reminded him.  “Yes, yes, it’s quite determined.  Certainly there’s no problem.” Once again Alice saved the day.   I feel it was extremely brave of her to even approach Aro to share her visions with him.  I’ve always hated the way Edward treated Alice like she is nothing but a constant annoyance, yet look at all she does for Edward & Bella. 
• Pg. 481  After Aro has agreed to release Edward, Alice, and Bella, It’s announced that Heidi will be arriving shortly. “Ah, Felix.”  Aro smiled, amused.  “Heidi will be here at any moment.  Patience”  “Hmm.”  Edward’s voice had a new edge to it.  “In that case, perhaps we’d better leave sooner rather than later.”  “Yes,” Aro agreed.  “That’s a good idea.  Accidents do happen.  Please wait below until after dark, though if you don’t mind.”  So is Heidi like some butler for the Volturi that baits in the humans?  And the creepy awful part is when they could hear the screams from all the tourists.  *shudders*

Chapter 20: Volterra

“Palazzo dei Priori…Palazzo dei Priori”

“I’d never seen anything more beautiful-even as I ran, gasping and screaming, I could appreciate that.  And the last seven months meant nothing.  And it did not matter if he did not want me.  I would never want anything but him, no matter how long I lived.”

The race continues! It seems as if they’ve been driving forever, or maybe its me being impatient as hale!

• Pg. 446  Alice bribes the guard…priceless
• Pg. 448  Bella is finally out of the Porsche.  “There was no pathway, no crevice between the close pressed bodies.  I pushed against them furiously, fighting the hands that shoved back.  I heard exclamations of irritation and even pain as I battled my way through, but none were in a language I understood.”  Funny how Bella looses all clumsiness.
• Pg. 451  He’s baaaaaaaack!  And a hot mess too! I think Edward kind of goes a bit mental for a minute.   As Bella runs through the water fountain to stop Edward from stepping into the sunlight she runs dead smack into him.  “No!”  I screamed.  “Edward look at me!”  He wasn’t listening.  He smiled very slightly.  He raised his foot to take the step that would put him directly in the path of the sun.  I slammed into him so hard that the force would have hurled me to the ground if his arms hadn’t caught me and held me up.  It knocked my breath out of me and snapped my head back.  His dark eyes opened slowly as the clock tolled again.  He looked down at me with quiet surprise.  “Amazing,” he said, his exquisite voice full of wonder, slightly amused.  “Carlisle was right.”  “Edward,”  I tried to gasp, but my voice had no sound.  “You’ve got to get back into the shadows.  You have to move!”  He seemed bemused.  His hand brushed softly against my cheek.  He didn’t appear to notice that I was trying to force him back.  I could have been pushing against the alley walls for all the progress I was making.  The clock tolled, but he didn’t react.  It was very strange, for I knew we were both in mortal danger.  Still, in that instant, I felt well.  Whole.   I could feel my heart racing in my chest, the blood pulsing hot and fast through my veins again.  My lungs filled deep with the sweet scent that came off his skin.  It was like there had never been a hole in my chest.  I was perfect-not healed, but as if there had been no wound in the first place.  Oh Bella.  Why do you do this to us?  We are supposed to be mad as all hale at Edward right now, but alas…we love him!
• Pg. 456  Enter Jane…smh.  After Edward snaps out of his temporary mental state, he tries to be slick and make light of the situation with the Volturi guards, but it doesn’t hardly work and after the back and forth exchange we between Edward and the guards, Jane steps in and forces everyone, (Alice included who has now joined Edward and Bella in the alley) to follow go into the Volturi’s underground kingdom.   
• Pg. 459  Finally, a proper reunion.  “Edward held me tightly.  He reached his free hand across his body to hold my face, too, his smooth thumb tracing across my lips.  Now and then, I felt his face press into my hair.  I realized that this was the only reunion we would get, and I clutched myself closer to him.  For now it felt like he wanted me, and that was enough to offset the horror of the subterranean tunnel and the prowling vampires behind us.  It was probably no more than guilt-the same guilt that compelled him to come here to die when he’d believed that it was his fault that I’d killed myself.  But I felt his lips press silently against my forehead, and I didn’t care what the motivation was.  At least I could be with him again before I died.  That was better than a long life.”  Someone pass me a tissue quick!

Who is past annoyed with Edward right now?  All this seems hardly worth it, this is beyond insane; I’m really surprised miss Isabella hasn’t had a nervous breakdown already, and now this Jane character?  This is too much!  Would you go through all this? And be truthful, remember her age, what would your parents do?  Mine would’ve locked me up and threw away the key when I got back and Edward would be a memory!

 Chapter 19: Race

 “We made our flight with seconds to spare.  And then the true torture began.  The plane sat idol on the tarmac while the flight attendants strolled-oh so casually- up and down the aisle, patting the bags in the overhead compartments to make sure everything fit.  The pilots leaned out of the cockpit, chatting with them as they passed.  Alice’s hand was hard on my shoulder, holding me in my seat while I bounced up and down.”

These are the parts I can’t wait to see in the movie…gosh anyone else having sleepless nights??

•  Pg. 425  Loves loves loves Jalice!  These two are too cute.  I love their phone conversation, when Alice called him from the plane(that Cullen money is super long, because we all know to make a phone call from an airplane is like $15.99u.s. per minute) Lol  “Yes I promise”  Her voice became pleading.  “Don’t follow me.  I promise, Jasper.  One way or another, I’ll get out…And I love you.”  Aww
• Pg. 426  Alice explains her reasons for going to Volterra alone.  “If there were a way that the four of us could save my brother by fighting for him, maybe it would be different.  But we can’t, and Bella I can’t loose Jasper like that.”  I don’t blame her one bit, this is Edward’s mess.
• Pg. 428  Alice breaks down the Volturi to Bella. “There were three of them originally, Aro , Caius, and Marcus.  Two females joined them over time, and the five of them make up the family.  I’m not sure but, I suspect their age is what gives them the ability to live peacefully together.  They are well over three thousand years old.  Or maybe it’s their gifts that give them extra tolerance.  Like Edward and I Aro and Marcus are…talented.”
• Pg. 436  Alice talks of Bella becoming a vampire.  “Actually Bella…Honestly I think it’s all gotten beyond ridiculous.  I’m debating whether to just turn you myself.  Did I scare you?  I thought that’s what you wanted.”  “I do!  Oh Alice, do it now!  I could help you so much-and I wouldn’t slow you down.  Bite me!”  “Shh!  Try to be reasonable.  We don’t have enough time.  We have to get into Volterra tomorrow.  You’d be writhering in pain for days.  She made a face.  “And  I don’t think the passengers would react well.”  Comical Alice lol
• Pg. 439 The girls arrive in Italy, and Alice steals the infamous yellow Porsche!
• Pg. 440  Now we all know how dry and dull Marcus is, he is so dull to the point that I get extremely bored with him, and I find it more than comical that he has a day named after him, and a celebration, lol.
• Pg. 441  Alice explains Edward’s plan to expose himself in broad daylight to the people of Volterra in order to provoke the Volturi, and tells Bella where to find him.  “Try not to trip…we don’t have time for a concussion today”  Ahahaha

I’m on the edge of my seat.  Every chapter gets better than the last.  What part are you mostly looking forward to?

Chapter 18: The Funeral

“He was standing about six feet back from the door, his nose wrinkled in distaste, but his face was otherwise smooth, masklike. He didn’t fool me; I could see the faint trembling of his hands”

I apologize folks, I had some goofy network issues all day, but here I am, better late than never!  Let’s get started

• Jacob returns the next day, and the whole kitchen scene makes me feel uneasy. 
• Pg. 408  “I pulled my face out of my hands to see Jacob hesitating in the kitchen doorway; he hadn’t left when I’d thought.  It was only when I saw the clear drops sparkling in my hands that I realized I was crying.  Jacob’s calm expression was gone; his face was anxious and unsure.  He walked quickly back to stand in front of me, ducking his head so that his eyes were closer to being on the same level with mine.  “Did it again, didn’t I? ”  “Did what?”  “Broke my promise.  Sorry.”  “S’okay, I started it this time.”  “I knew how you felt about them.  It shouldn’t have taken me by surprise like that.”  “Let’s not worry about it, okay?  She’s just visiting, right?  She’ll leave, and things will go back to normal.”  Oh Jacob, honestly I wish that were true for your hearts sake
• Pg. 409  Bella still smells ahahahaa
• Pg. 411  Ahh the almost kiss.  “He released me, lifting his other hand to brush his fingertips along my cheek, trailing them down to my jaw.  I could feel his fingers tremble-not with anger this time.  He pressed his palm against my cheek, so that my face was trapped between his burning hands.  “Bella” he whispered.  Keeping his eyes on mine, Jacob began to bend his face toward me.  And I was still absolutely undecided.
• Pg. 412  Edward calls!  This is where it turns ugly folks.  For those who aren’t actually reading the book, here’s the deal.  Jacob being smug as ever has the nerve to answer the phone at the Swan residence.  Jacob thinks its Carlisle Cullen on the other end asking for Charlie, when in fact it was Edward.  Jacob tells him that Charlie is at the funeral and Edward hangs up thinking he meant Bella’s funeral.  Smh
• Pg. 413  This is what I cannot take with Jacob Black, he apparently still doesn’t have his emotions under control, his erratic behavior spirals out of control and he accidentally knocks Bella to the floor.  Hmmm, whatever
• Pg. 414  Jacob continues on his tirade cursing and carrying on using all sorts of profanities.  He’s upset because Bella is frozen in shock, Bella is in shock because Alice is frozen looking mortified, and if Alice is in shock  then we are all in trouble. 
• Pg. 415  Rosalie.  Rosalie.  Rosalie.  *sigh*  My precious Rose, why do you behave the way you behave?  And why do you do the things you do?  Rosalie tells Edward that Bella killed herself.  Of course that’s why Edward called the Swan home trying to confirm the news with Charlie, but Jacob told him, well you all already know how it went down.  I love how Alice gives Rosalie the business.  As far as I’m concerned Rose is the cause of all things bad to come, well Edward started all this mess 7 months ago by leaving, as long as I’m pointing fingers if Jasper hadn’t flipped out and tried to kill Bella, but if Bella wasn’t so clumsy and get a paper cut…see what a mess this is?
• Pg. 419  After Alice tells Bella that Edward plans on going to the Volturi to convince them to kill him, Bella pushes Alice to let her go to Volterra to try and stop Edward.  “Listen Bella!  Whether we are in time or not, we will be in the heart of Volturi city.  I will be considered his accomplice if he is successful.  You will be a human who not only knows too much, but smells too good.  There’s a very good chance that they will eliminate us all-though in your case it won’t be be punishment so much as dinnertime.”
• Pg. 421-422  Jacob’s final plea(let me get some tissue, this is really bad)  Their bags are packed, Alice & Bella are headed for the door.   ”Don’t go.”  Jacob whispered.  “Please, please, please take care of Charlie.”  “Please Bella I’m begging.”  “Jake I have to.”  “You don’t though.  You really don’t”  You could stay here with me.  You could stay alive.  For Charlie.  For me.  Don’t die Bella.  Don’t go.  Don’t.”  “Bye Jake.”  I pulled his hand from my hair and kissed his palm.  “Sorry.”    Bella sucks   I have my feelings about Jacob but no one deserves that!

After an ultra long day, a wave of emotions filled my heart today with reading this chapter and it makes me wonder how I’m going to handle my emotions in the movie theater on Thursday in front of my friends!  How do you all feel about this chapter?

Chapter 17: Visitor

“Unnaturally still and white, with her large black eyes intent on my face, my visitor waited perfectly motionless in the center of the hall, beautiful beyond all imagining.  My knees trembled for a second, and I nearly fell.  Then…I hurled myself at her.

Sheeeeeeeeee’s baaaaaaaaaaack!!! Stand up, round of applause, dance on a table, whatever you want  to do because Alice is back Jack! Whew I have to calm down and get it together.  Let’s get right to it.

• It’s as if no time has passed, Alice and Bella’s relationship(that we’ve learned from the final 2 books) is a relationship that runs extremely deep, deeper than a sisterly bond, there are really no words to explain it as depicted here.
• Pg. 382  “I locked my arms around her, gasping to inhale as much as the scent of her skin as possible.  It wasn’t like anything else-not floral or spice, citrus or musk.  No perfume in the world could compare.  My memory hadn’t done it justice.  I didn’t notice when the gasping turned into something else-I only realized I was sobbing when Alice dragged me to the living room couch and pulled me onto her lap.  It was like curling up to a cool stone, but a stone that was contoured comfortingly to the shape of my body.  She rubbed my back in a gentle rhythm, waiting for me to get control of myself.” 
• Pg. 383  Alice sighed.  “I’d forgotten how exuberant you are,” she said her tone was disapproving.  I looked up at her through my streaming eyes.  Alice’s neck was tight, straining away from me, her lips pressed together firmly.  Her eyes were black as pitch.  “Oh,”  I puffed , as I realized the problem.  She was thirsty.  And I smelled appetizing.  It had been a while since I had to think about that sort of thing.  “Sorry.”  “It’s my own fault.  It’s been too long since I hunted.  I shouldn’t let myself get so thirsty.”     Oookay folks, now I simply adore Alice, but I think we all are guilty of forgetting these people are vampires(isn’t that what Jacob has been trying to tell us?) and while I know Alice would never hurt Bella, there will always be that shadow of doubt in the back of my mind, and Bella’s too as we will see shortly.
• At this point Alice explains exactly why she returned to Forks & to the Swan residence.  After seeing the vision of  Bella jump from the cliff, Alice hopped on the first plane she could(thirsty and all) & headed straight to Forks.  I simply love the fact that Alice’s first instinct was to comfort Charlie, even after all this time.  The love she has for Bella still lives on. 
• Pg. 385 “I watched curiously as an enigmatic range of emotions flitted across her face.  Something was bothering her-her imperfect vision?  But I wasn’t sure.  Then she deliberately leaned in and sniffed my shoulder.  I froze.”   See what the hale I mean folks? Let’s just keep repeating this to ourselves: Alice loves us, she would never hurt us…Alice loves us…She would never hurt us.  Lol.
• Pg. 386  Don’t you just love the rapport between these two?  Their comfy conversations are just so easy breezy, back and forth, very matter-of-factly, like Bella isn’t sitting there talking to an extremely thirsty vampire
• Pg 387  Apparently Bella smells.  I mention it, because its our first real look into the whole vampire smell sweet…too sweet until it burns your nose, and the wolves smell awful like wet dog issue.  The whole thing is too funny to me, especially the way Jacob gets all wound up when he smells the vamps.  This is also where Bella goes in to deep detail about her friendship with the wolves, since the Cullen’s have been away.  “Leave it to you Bella.  Anyone else would be better off when the vampires left town.  But you have to start hanging out with the first monsters you can find.”  Gotta love Alice!
• Pg. 389  Tugs at my heart strings.  We all knew Bella lost herself when the Cullen’s left, but here Bella displays just how deeply lost she felt.  “Our leaving didn’t do you any good at all, did it?”  “That was never the point, though, was it? It’s not like you left for my benefit.”  “Well…I guess I acted impulsively today.  I probably shouldn’t have intruded.”  I could feel the blood draining from my face.  My stomach dropped.  “Don’t go, Alice,”  I whispered.  My fingers locked around the collar of her white shirt and I began to hyperventilate.  “Please don’t leave me.”   I’m sure there isn’t a dry eye in the house, I was a mess reading this part
• Pg. 390  Jacob calls(oh boy)  “Charlie?” “No, its me.”  “Jake!”  “Just making sure you were still alive.”  “I’m fine.  I told you that it wasn’t-”  “Yeah. I got it.  Bye.”  All right all my wolf lovers, what cha got to say about that?  I’m going to leave it alone, the boy is hurting enough
• Yay! Alice is spending the night.  Alice finally goes to hunt(thank goodness, I was getting a bit nervous)  How cute is it when Alice kisses Bella on the cheek, then bounces to get some wildlife.
• It’s time for Harry Clearwater’s funeral, I still can’t believe he died
• Pg. 400  We finally get some insight to Alice’s background.  “My name was Mary Alice Brandon.  I had a little sister named Cynthia.  Her daughter- my niece- is still alive in Biloxi.”  “Did you find out why they put you in…that place?”  What would drive parents to that extreme?  Even if their daughter saw visions of the future.  “I couldn’t find much about them.  I went through all the old newspapers on microfiche.  My family wasn’t mentioned often; they weren’t part of the social circle that made the papers.  My birth was announced…and my death.  I found my grave.  I also filched my admissions sheet from the old asylum archives.  The date on the admission and the date on my tombstone are the same.”   Smh, some parents
• Pg. 403  Jacob Black arrives the next day, and we learn that Alice’s visions go “blind” when the werewolves come around.

This has been a long day and a very long post.  I have tried to add as much as I could.  Now it’s all on you…I can’t wait until I read your comments

Chapter 16: Paris

“It was a black car-a car I knew.  I might be the furthest thing from an autophile, but I could tell you everything about that particular car.  It was a Mercedes S55 AMG.  I knew the horsepower and the color of the interior.  I knew the feel of the powerful engine purring through the frame.  I knew the rich smell of the leather seats and the way the extra-dark tint made noon look like dusk through those windows.”

Shh, she’s coming.  Tomorrow my lovlies!  I had to do that guys, I just had to.  Let’s just get through this chapter & be fair to the wolf pack lovers after all they have been excellent in this book.

• First of all Jacob does an amazing job, saving Bella from drowning.  This better be in the movie and I want detailed scenes!
• Bad news is Harry Clearwater has a heart attack
• I thought it was too cute when Jacob & Bella went back to the Blacks’ home, Jacob didn’t even stretch out across his bed, he simply crashed on the floor of all places, next to Bella’s feet
• Bella reflected on Romeo & Juliet for too many pages for my taste & I simply skipped it all
• It’s official Harry Clearwater has passed away   Now Harry played such an insignificant role in the saga, but it’s Harry Clearwater man! I hated that he died
• Pg 374-375 Bella finally professes her love for Jacob(In her own Bella way).  “I couldn’t imagine my life without Jacob now-I cringed away from the idea of even trying to imagine that.  Somehow, he’d become essential to my survival.  But to leave things the way they were…was that cruel, as Mike had accused?  I remembered wishing that Jacob were my brother.  I realized now that all I really wanted was  a claim on him.  It didn’t feel brotherly when he held me like this.  It just felt nice-warm and comforting and familiar.  Safe.  Jacob was a safe harbor.”  “I would have to commit to this-commit as much of me as there was left, every one of the broken pieces.  It was the only way to be fair to him.  Would I?  Could I?  Would it be so wrong to try to make Jacob happy?  Even the love I felt for him was no more than a weak echo of what I was capable of, even if my heart as far away, wandering and grieving after my fickle Romeo, would it be so very wrong?” Umm yes Bella it would be! smh
• Pg. 376 Even though he has proved it over and over(which is never enough for a greedy gus like me) I think this is where it finally sunk in for me, just how deep Jacob’s love for Bella truly is.  “Sorry I know you don’t feel exactly the way I do Bells.  I swear I don’t mind.  I’m just so glad you’re okay that I could sing-and that’s something no one wants to hear.” Cuuuute
• Pg. 377 “What’s wrong?”  “Vampire.” His eyes were wild, raking the dark street.  He barely seemed aware of the tremors that were rolling through his body.  “Phase or get her out of here?” Ok folks this is freaky.  Who is Jacob talking to? This is the thing that scares me about young wolves, they aren’t completely in control of their emotions yet.  I honestly thought Jake was going to morph right then and there and fly out of the truck window lol.
• Pg. 379 Attention: The honeymoon is over.  This is where it all goes south for me, and where my love/hate relationship with Jacob begins.  “There’s a vampire in your house, and you want to go back?”  “Of course.”  “You’re sure it’s not a trick?”  “It’s not a trick.  It’s Carlisle.  Take me back!”  “No.  Take yourself back, Bella…Bye Bella, I really hope you don’t die.”  Wtf? Seriously Jacob? Was all that necessary?
• Pg. 381 “Suddenly something Jacob had told me this afternoon echoed in my head, finally sinking in…”She took off into the water, he’d said.  The bloodsuckers have the advantage there.  That’s why I raced home-I was afraid she was going to double back swimming.”  My hand froze in its searching, my whole body froze into place, as I realized why I recognized the strange orange color in the water.  Victoria’s hair, blowing wild in the wind, the color of fire.  She’d been there.  Right there in the harbor with me and Jacob.  If  Sam hadn’t been there,  if it has been just the two of us…?”

Like I said before, the honeymoon is over, but I also meant between myself and the wolf lovers, because this is where all my issues begin.  I will never make an excuse for Bella, she is the hottest mess I think all of us can agree on that.   But Jacob oh Jacob.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but he can’t risk breaking the treaty because his enemy “might” be in the Swan house?  He didn’t even stick around to make sure it was Carlisle or Victoria.  “Bye Bella, I really hope you don’t die.” What was that? So he just leaves? Treaty or no treaty, don’t you at least have to make sure? Can he not smell the difference in vamps? He’d been chasing Victoria for weeks now, couldn’t he decipher one vamp smell from a fresh one? After all, he did know 2 vampires had returned to Forks when Laurent came to town.  I know you all have tons to say, and feel free, maybe you can put me in my place and shut me up…good luck with that lol…Love you guys!!
