Peter Facinelli will be in London in July for the London Film & ComicCon, alongside previous Doctor Who star Tom Baker. He’s recently noted his respect for the role, as well–
And Peter, who played Jimmy in Six Feet Under, said he’d love to play the Timelord if the opportunity arose – especially if it was in a film of the show.
Peter said: “I wish we had Doctor Who in America.
“Everyone in UK was raving about it when I came over for the conference. I’d love to watch it. Or even star as the Doctor in a film. I could even get a long stripy scarf!”
The 35-year-old actor also said he was looking forward to playing scatterbrained Dr Cooper in new US show Nurse Jackie but reckons his Twilight alter-ego Carlisle Cullen would be mortified by Dr Cooper’s slapdash medical skills.
I am thrilled to hear Peter Facinelli mention Doctor Who, being that the new version of the series is one of my favorites. If he ever did play the Doctor, or even guest starred, I would probably need resuscitation! Check out the rest of the article at The Sun. [via TwiCrack]
Peter Facinelli, our handsome Mr. Carlisle Cullen, is taking a role in an Italian film called The Absinthe Drinkers–and in what seems like a coordinated effort with the role, he’s become a dual-citizen of the US and Italy!
Says Jopson, “Peter Facinelli’s role in The Absinthe Drinkers is off-beat and very radical . . . It’s unlike anything he’s ever done, which is I suppose why he wanted to stay with the role.” Continues Jopson, “There’s no way to fake fire-eating,” so “Peter and I have spoken about it and he’s more than willing to swig a bottle of kerosene and spit out a four foot flame!”

Two lucky fans met up with the cream of the vamp crop in a Vancouver restaurant recently–
My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to chill with some “vampires” a couple of weeks ago. The guys were very friendly and flirty (especially the guy that plays Emmett) and quite possibly drunk. Seriously cool guys.
Peter Facinelli and Michael Welch, who play Dr. Carlisle Cullen and Mike Newton in Twilight, will both be appearing at DragonCon in Atlanta this year, which takes place Labor Day weekend September 4th-7th, 2009. For more info, see the official site.
Oh my! TwiCrack dug up this clip of Peter Facinelli in the PG-13 movie Supernova from 2000. What’s so special about this clip? Well, Dr. Cullen is walking around buck-nekkid, that’s what! Check the jump if you want to see the PG-13 YouTube clip from the movie….brb, off for a cold shower.
As if we needed yet another reason to adore him, Peter Facinelli went above and beyond the call of duty during his recent autograph session at Fort Lewis–
Originally schedule to last just two hours Saturday afternoon, Facinelli’s visit to the PX finally wrapped up at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, some 16 and a half hours after it started. The appearance at the exchange capped off a whirlwind three day tour of Ft. Lewis that had Facinelli meeting troops from the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, talking with more than 100 military children at a local prep school and taking part in a question and answer session with some 1,000 fans at a free screening of the Twilight movie Friday night.
NewMoonMovie.org reader Julie met Peter Facinelli at the UK Twilight Convention recently, and she had this interesting tidbit to share–
He talked to us about the script for New Moon and said he was happy with it. He mentioned his concerns at a man directing a story told from a woman’s (Bella’s) viewpoint, but how he was then totally reassured after meeting Chris Weitz the director. My favourite bit of insiders gossip that he gave us was one of the stage directions. In the New Moon script it says ‘the sunlight catches Edward’s skin and we see him sparkle’ ,it then says in brackets underneath (BUT BETTER THAN IN TWILIGHT) I guess they really are trying to improve the special effects!
Haha! Good to know that the New Moon team has a sense of humor about what went wrong in Twilight.
Peter Facinelli talked about New Moon last night at the Costume Designers Guild Awards and he says that they “start Rehearsals in about 3 weeks and start filming in April.” Is filming pushed back a little or is the March 23rd date we’ve heard so far just for rehearsals?
Check the break for super-cute pictures of Peter Facinelli in his boxers at the show from Lion & Lamb Love!
E! Online calls them a “hot, walking valentine“. The super cute and seemingly normal TwiDad Peter Facinelli and his wife Jennie Garth were on Chelsea Lately last night, and they had a “date” on the show. Check it out–
Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in Twilight, was pleased to hear that Dakota Fanning may be cast as Jane in the New Moon movie, noting to PopEater that “She is a phenomenal actress… [The role of Jane] would be great for her,”
He also says that–
“I have been very fortunate to work with great people. The ['Twilight'] cast is really great. We are like a family,” Facinelli said. “[During filming] I took on the father figure role, and they were all my kids. I love all of them,” he added.
Facinelli says he is excited to start working on ‘New Moon,’ which is expected to start shooting in March. Even though he hasn’t seen the final script, there is one scene he’s excited about. “There is a scene where Dr. Cullen stitches up Bella’s hand, and there is a really nice conversation… I think it’s important to the book,” he said.
