Get ready Team Jacob! Your boy is gonna be rolling in the dough, big time! According to MTV.com New Moon’s Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob Black) will be the highest paid teenage actor in Hollywood.

Lautner is due to make $7.5 million off of his next flick Northern Lights -

The film, titled “Northern Lights,” will pair the 17-year-old with Tom Cruise. The plot is described as a story about “a gifted young aerobatics pilot who faces off with his controlling billionaire father and falls in love with a gifted female pilot.” Helmed by “Max Payne” director John Moore, the film is set to start shooting on April 1.

According to the Deadline.com story, young stars like Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus have not commanded a paycheck nearly as large as Lautner’s. And the “Twilight” werewolf might get even more cash for his future projects.

A December report in Variety indicated that “Breaking Dawn,” the final book in the “Twilight” saga, may be split into two films, which would force Summit Entertainment to reopen negotiations with Lautner and co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Based on the blockbuster success of “New Moon,” that would likely mean a monster raise for Lautner.

Lautner should also see a hefty payday for his starring turn in “Max Steel.” Based on a Mattel toy line and comic book tie-in, the action flick would feature Lautner as an extreme-sports star who encounters nano-machines that endow him with superpowers. The script is still being tweaked, though, leaving the actor free to jump into “Northern Lights” with Cruise in the spring, just a couple of months before the arrival in theaters of the next “Twilight” film, “Eclipse.”

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, also know as The Twilight Trio, were named #2 in Access Hollywood’s Top 9 of 2009. 

They are fabulous, aren’t they?  What a great year they all had.

I love Rob’s interviews….espeically when Rob answered the dating an older woman question… “I’m open to pretty much anything.”  *THUD*  LOL!

According to E! News, Taylor Lautner may possibly be up for a role in the remake of the 1985 drama Vision Quest.

He could wind up playing an updated version of Modine’s character in the still-in-development film, which counts Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of Temple Hill Entertainment (and Twilight and New Moon fame) as producers. We hear that Richard Munic has penned a screenplay that is “very faithful” to the original Vision Quest.

“Taylor saw [the script] and is really excited about it,” says a source. “It’s very much in line with his athleticism. His character is someone who’s striving for greatness.”

A rep for Lautner didn’t respond to a request for comment and Warner Bros., which owns the rights to Vision Quest, remained mum on whether it’s  considering the shirtless wonder for the lead, confirming only that the film is in development.

Here’s a little info from IMDb of the 1985 film Vision Quest:  “Vision Quest is a coming of age movie in which high school wrestler Louden Swain decides he wants to be something more than an average high school athlete.  His father rents a room to a young drifter, Carla. Swain falls in love with her and she helps him stay focused and prevents him from losing sight of his goals.”

The offers are pouring in for Taylor now!   Good for Taylor.   I know a few women who would love to play that drifter, Carla. *wink*

Summit Entertainment home of The Twilight Saga will soon have another notch under their belts. Twilight & New Moon star Taylor Lautner will star in the upcoming action flick Cancun.

CANCUN follows an out-of-place college kid who travels with a girl to Cancun on a break. While there, the girl and her friends are taken hostage by a drug cartel and he is forced to save them.

The film is being designed to allow Lautner to use his martial arts skills, some of which he recently showcased on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.

The plot alone sounds quite intriguing, I can’t wait to see this film.  The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that “Cancun” is the first film from the production company that Taylor and his dad Dan Lautner have started together & that Dan Lautner may produce the film!  I would love to see his production work.  I had no idea Taylor’s dad was even  a producer, did you?  Poor MEC always the last to know, lol.

Taylor Lautner was listed as #4 on MTV News’ Man of The Year. 

Sure enough, his casting proved to be the right move, as “New Moon” not only broke the midnight screening record previously held by “Harry Potter,” but also went on to become the third-highest opening weekend on record. So convincing was his portrayal of Jacob, in fact, that some Twilighters thought he deserved an Oscar nomination. Now, with “Eclipse” set for release next year, and the possible two-movie split of “Breaking Dawn” on the horizon, Taylor’s future only looks brighter.

Some of you might be thinking: It was a great year for the “Twilight” stars, but how could Taylor finish higher in our rankings than Kristen or Rob? Well, for starters, his stock had a further journey to soar, and soar it did. Now he’s a household name who recently achieved the honor of hosting “Saturday Night Live,” the first “Twilight” star to do so. He spent the night making us laugh and partying into the wee hours, and now Hollywood seems on the verge of giving the muscle-bound rising star his own franchise. These days, it seems like it’s Taylor’s world — and we’re all just living in it.

Good for Taylor! Still think Taylor, Rob and Kristen all should be higher in MTV’s ranking.  They’re all #1 to us!

Whether we were on Team Edward or Team Jacob, a lot of us couldn’t stop talking all year about ‘Twilight,’ and how last year’s initial installment had whetted our appetite for the vampire/werewolf/teen-girl triangle to come. The stakes were high, but the anticipation paid off in ‘New Moon.’ In a year where pop culture everywhere seemed to be crawling with vampires, these neckbiters were the ones we couldn’t stop obsessing over.

YAY!!  #3 is great!!!  Especially since #1 is George Clooney and #2 is Meryl Streep.
