Next Movie asked Cam Gigandet (James) 5 questions recently and talked a little about Twilight.

In the final analysis, do you get more attention from fans for killing Marissa Cooper or breaking Bella’s leg?
[Laughs] I’m going to have to go with the “Twilight” fans because… they are really never-ending. I played paintball this past weekend with my dad — the whole day, people would come up and say “Oh, you’re the guy from –” and if it was a girl, without fail, the girl  would bring up ‘Twilight.”  They used to bring up “The O.C.” but not so much anymore.

The guys who came up to me this past weekend — it was always “Never Back Down.” Which is interesting.

Thankfully, “Twilight” set me up for a really long time. Everything that has such success and a fan following makes my job easier. It’ll always help me, for the rest of my career.

Two vampire movies in the last few years — are you a big fan, yourself?
I don’t know if it was even vampire movies that was the draw for me. I’m fascinated with worlds where there’s a small population left, whether it’s a movie or these TV shows that fascinate me — “Falling Skies” or “The Walking Dead” — they are about survival and triumphing over difficult times. I just have a thing for ‘em.

Of course, vampires are so cool and scary.

Ah Cam!   He really played James perfectly!  Loved it when he sniffs the air and says “You brought a snack.”   AHHHH!   FLOVE!

Thank you Andie!

twilight 110710 Inn Fire Historic View Point Inn, Location Of Twilight Prom Scene, Catches Fire

twilight ScreenShot51571 280x160 Historic View Point Inn, Location Of Twilight Prom Scene, Catches Fire The historic View Point Inn, location of the famous Twilight prom scene, caught fire on Sunday July 10th.

CORBETT, Ore. – The historic View Point Inn in the Columbia River Gorge caught fire on Sunday, sending a plume of smoke into the sky and burning much of the building’s top floor.

The inn’s owners said two people walking around the back of the inn first spotted the flames and ran inside to alert employees.

The two people were fans of the Twilight movie. Part of the popular movie was filmed at the inn and movie fans often stop by to visit, the owners said.

It’s not clear how the fire started or the extent of the damage. A large column of smoke could be seen coming from the building.

Staff members tried to put the fire out with a garden hose, but were not successful.

Deputies said several guests were in the building at the time. A wedding was also scheduled for the afternoon and the guests who had arrived were sent home. A nearby facility offered the host the wedding instead.

The View Point Inn is located near Vista House in the Columbia River Gorge.

Very sad. Our hearts go out to the owners of View Point Inn.  Luckily no one was hurt.

twilight Chap9 Let’s Re Read Twilight Together! Chapter 9

Welcome to the Twilight Re-read!

In order to help pass the time while we wait for Breaking Dawn to be released, we are re-reading the first installment of The Twilight Saga:Twilight!!

On Tuesdays & Fridays I’ll post a thread for each chapter in the book.

To get started, dig out your old copy of Twilight, read the chapter together with us, and discuss anything you find of interest that you might have missed the first or thirtieth time around.

Chapter 9: Theory

“I was distracted all weekend, worrying about you…and that possibility tormented me the entire time I was away. It was a very long three days. I really got on Emmett’s nerves.”

After quite the meal, Edward and Bella head to the Volvo while Bella’s head is swirling with questions.

  •  Pg. 180-181  Bella presses on with her questions. Edward explains that he followed Bella’s scent which was how he was able to locate her, which in my opinion is super creepy, lol. Edward admits that he can read minds by hearing people’s thoughts. He then confesses that he cannot however, hear Bella’s thoughts. “Why do you think you can’t hear me? I asked curiously. He looked at me, his eyes enigmatic. “I don’t know. The only guess I have is that maybe your mind doesn’t work the same way the rest of theirs do. Like your thoughts are on the same AM frequency and I’m only getting FM.” He grinned at me, suddenly amused. “My mind doesn’t work right? I’m a freak?” The words bothered me more than they should-probably because his speculation hit home. I’d always suspected as much, and it embarrassed me to have it confirmed. “I hear voices in my mind and you’re worried that you’re the freak,” he laughed. [click to continue…]

twilight catherine hardwicke ridinghood twilight7 Hollywood Crush: Is Red Riding Hood Just Twilight With A Cape?

Our friends at Hollywood Crush did a great comparison of the trailer for director Catherine Hardwicke’s new film Red Riding Hood and Twilight.

When the teaser trailer for director Catherine Hardwicke’s “Red Riding Hood” debuted earlier this week, the comparisons to her previous box office blockbuster, “Twilight,” flew faster than a vampire hunting Bella’s blood. At first blush, these comparisons seemed unoriginal and a silly bit of pandering to “Twilight”‘s rabid fanbase. But then we watched the trailer, and it’s pretty hard to ignore the similarities. Thematically, “Red Riding Hood” relies on similar elements: a love triangle, supernatural occurrences and grisly murders, just to name a few. But that’s the purview of the screenwriter. What’s all Catherine is the teaser’s visual elements, and here, even more so than in the plot, this film reeks of “Twilight.” So much so, in fact, that we took screengrabs from both films for a side-by-side comparison.

For someone who grew up in Texas, Catherine has an intense fascination with the forest—ethereal, mist-laden ones, in particular. A woodsy setting is a favored location for her characters to bare their souls. The better if her heroine shares revelations with her sweetheart while facing away from him. Who but Catherine’s couples have conversations while NOT FACING EACH OTHER?

I definitely thought of Twilight when I saw the trailer for Red Riding Hood.  Love the comparison!  LOL at “couples having conversation while not facing each other”!!
