Victoria

*SPOILER ALERT* MTV News had a chance to sit down with New Moon screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg. She had no problem giving the deets on one of Victoria’s (Rachelle Lefevre) final scenes in New Moon -

New series director Chris Weitz, however, gave Rosenberg permission to get away from Bella’s point of view a few times — most notably in a scene where we’ll get a glimpse of the evil vampire’s road trip. “I was able to explore what Victoria was up to,” Rosenberg revealed. “And at one point, we cut away to Victoria driving really fast in a car.”

When any of us are driving a long way, we might swing into a 7-Eleven and grab a Gatorade, some Flamin’ Hot Cheetos or a Slim Jim. Victoria, however, prefers human flesh.

“She took a snack with her,” laughed Rosenberg, making reference to Victoria’s latest victim. “And she’s reminiscing about her days with James. I loved writing that scene.”

He brings up some very good points. And after hearing from Rachelle and Summit, we are all lead to believe there is some bad blood (no pun intended!). How will this affect New Moon promotions and campaigns as we near November 20th?

200907291823EclipseMovie.org has all the details in regards to Summits take of what has gone down over the past several weeks, concerning the role of Victoria in the Twilight Saga – Eclipse, being recast and given to Bryce Dallas Howard. Which has been portrayed by Rachelle Lafevre in both Twilight and New Moon.

Various outcries were heard by Rachelle Lefevre’s fans last evening on Twitter. As you can see, she was the subject of various Trending Topics.

NMM.org (aka Will) has made 2 pretty awesome badges to show your support towards Rachelle. They are available here and here.

rachelle_lefevreAs we reported earlier, Rachelle Lefevre will no longer be reprising her role as the evil Vampire, Victoria, in The Twilight Saga -Eclipse. Instead, Victoria will be played by none other than Bryce Dallas Howard.

We were given very little details as to how this came about, and the main reason being why?

Access Hollywood is now reporting that Rachelle Lefevre was “shocked” and “stunned” by what has happened -

“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’” Rachelle said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

On Tuesday, Summit announced that Bryce Dallas Howard would be taking on the role in “Eclipse,” due in May 2010.

“I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria,” Rachelle continued, explaining the turn of events that led to the casting change. “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for ‘Eclipse.’ Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.”

The star concluded her statement with a regretful tone.

“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best,” she said.

Bryce Dallas Howard Eclipse Victoria

Rachelle LeFevre, who played vamp baddie Victoria in Twilight and New Moon, has stepped down from the role of Victoria in Eclipse!

Actress Rachelle Lefevre Will Be Replaced By Howard In The Role Of Victoria

Los Angeles – July 28, 2009 – Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the studio’s upcoming production of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in TWILIGHT as well as the upcoming release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will start filming in Vancouver this coming August.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”

Howard most recently starred in TERMINATOR SALVATION as Kate Connor and has been seen in SPIDER-MAN 3, LADY IN THE WATER, and THE VILLAGE. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her leading performance as an actress in the HBO film AS YOU LIKE IT.

Why did Rachelle LeFevre leave, you ask? The Hollywood Reporter shows this project in her future:

Rosamund Pike, Minnie Driver and Rachelle Lefevre are playing Paul Giamatti’s many wives in “Barney’s Version,” the adaptation of the Mordecai Richler novel being directed by Richard Lewis. Robert Lantos is producing via his Serendipity Point Films.”Barney’s” tells the story of the politically incorrect, fully lived life of the impulsive, irascible and fearlessly blunt Barney Panofsky (Giamatti).

Lefevre will play Clara, Barney’s first wife, a wild, troubled artist. Driver plays Barney’s second wife, the annoyingly loquacious Mrs. “P.” Miriam, Barney’s third wife and true love, will be played by Pike.

Principal photography starts Aug. 17 in Rome. Dustin Hoffman also is in the cast, playing Barney’s father.

Rachelle LeFevre Victoria New Moon Canadian actress Rachelle LeFevre plays bad-vamp Victoria in New Moon, and she talks to HitFix in-depth about her experience filming New Moon while she was in Vancouver. In particular, she reveals quite a bit about the type of stunts we’ll see in the movie–

Q: So, we get to see you jump from 25 feet up in a tree down to the ground? There’s leaping off trees to the ground. There’s leaping up in the air from trees to other trees. I was about 40-feet up just hanging out looking like I was just kind of standing there. There’s a lot of that. And then my stunt double, who spent five years with Cirque du Soleil did some very cool like backflips and things like that on the wires. Yeah, being thrown around by werewolves you’d be like in one place one minute and then they pull [and] you’re like hooked up to wire and then they’ll pull the wires and then you get yanked up flying into the air and your body’s folded in half. It’s very cool.

Rachelle also reveals that there will be a slight change from Twilight–she’ll now wear shoes instead of going barefoot! Find out why after the break.

Among them, Vanessa Hudgens is “maybe back in again”, and LefFevere is already doing wire-stunt training for her big fight scene:

Rachel has heard all of the “New Moon” rumors that we’ve all heard – about Dakota Fanning, AnnaLynne McCord, Vanessa Hudgens and Madonna. And about the Madonna rumor she says, “I’ve heard that one too. And if I saw her, I’d march right up to her and shake her and say, ‘We’re in the same project!’”

As for “High School Musical’s” Vanessa, Rachel says that the cast hardly knows anything about all of “the rumors,” but that she heard Vanessa Hudgens was, “in… then out… and now maybe back in again.”

Rachel is excited for the third installment of “The Twilight Saga” because there’s a huge fight scene for her in it.

Moreover, she says that she just started training for the wire work stunts in “New Moon.”

She also tells Access that she is doing a special new workout training program, only available in Hollywood, called “GST.”
