SPIN.com has another great feature on the coverage from last night’s Hot Topic New Moon Mall Tour in Los Angeles.  From the performances by Anya Marina, Death Cab for Cutie, Band of Skulls, and Sea Wolf to the appearances by the New Moon Cast, it sounded like an unforgettable night.

The scene was electric outside of Los Angeles’ Hollywood & Highland open-air mall on Friday evening. A huge line snaked out into the streets, and much of the crowd looked strikingly similar: gaggles of teenage girls (plus guys, moms, dads, and little ones) in black T-shirts emblazoned with five key words: The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Awaiting them inside? Autographs and a Q&A with the film’s supporting cast, plus courtyard performances from four bands who contributed to New Moon’s excellent soundtrack: Band Of Skulls, Sea Wolf, Anya Marina and, to close it out, Death Cab For Cutie.

In other words, this was the Hot Topic-sponsored New Moon mall tour.

Chapter 12: Intruder

“A huge, dark shape wobbled erratically on the other side of the glass, lurching toward me like it was going to smash right through.  I staggered back, terrified, my throat closing around a scream…Victoria”

 So much went down in this chapter, let’s get right to it!!

• Yayyyyy Jake’s a werewolf, did ya guess?? (I’m a nut aren’t I?)
• I love how Stephenie Meyer goes back to some “Twilight” quotes when Bella is rewinding the conversation she & Jacob had at LaPush beach
• Bella finally realizes that she may just not be wound too tightly, after all she can attract the strangest set of people, cant she?
• I love how Bella really shows her love for her father,  when Charlie tells her he has to go and check on the wolf situation, and maybe kill one of them, besides her flipping out on Edward in the hospital bed in Twilight, we hadn’t really seen Bella this riled up…ever.
• I like how Jacob shows off his acrobatic skills when swinging into Bella’s bedroom window without making a sound, then when he leaves he passes that annoying squeaky step on the staircase lol
• I’m just finally happy all this guessing and torture is over.  Jake’s a wolf, now let’s get on with  it already.  I need Jake & Paul to fight, I want the kitchen  scene with the huge blueberry muffins, & I need Volterra!

I’m dying to know what your thoughts on this chapter are.  Be honest, did you guess what Jacob was before all the clues? Honestly I can’t remember what I was thinking, I was probably too horrified at all of it.

Robert Pattinson talked with MTV news yesterday about the craziest thing he’s read when he Googled himself. 

“I like the story about me being pregnant,” laughed the 23-year-old British heartthrob. “It was in some Australian magazine, on the front page!”

“I was like, ‘Wow, that’s just [insane],’ ” he said of the pregnancy rumors. “And it’s not even ironic.

“I am, yes,” he laughed, joking that he is now with child. “Yeah, it’s in my armpit because I’m hiding it from everyone.”

I’m so glad to see him laugh at those ridiculous rumors.  He’s hiding it in  his armpit.  LOL!!!

Hi everybody!

I wanted to apprise you all of a few upcoming things.

You know I’ve been doing the hermit thing this last year, in so far as media is concerned, and I’m not changing that now, but I am making an exception. I’m doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. And since I’m only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big. So….I will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 13th. Check the local listings on Oprah’s website to find out what time it will be on where you live.

Of course, most of the questions for Oprah will be designed for a broader audience than just die-hard Twilight fans, and I imagine people who read this site and other fansites will already know most of the answers. To rectify this, I’m going to answer your more specific questions on-line. The official Twilight Saga website (www.TheTwilightSaga.com) will be taking any New Moon movie-related questions you might have for me, and then I’ll answer those most frequently asked. I’ll post the answers on the Twilight Saga website and also here on my own site. Questions can be submitted to TheTwilightSaga.com from noon (Eastern Standard Time) on Monday, November 9th through noon Tuesday, November 10th. The answers will be posted Monday, November 16th—or New Moon Premiere Day, as it is known around my house. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and most of the remaining members of the New Moon cast were at the New Moon mall tour last night in Los Angeles.

Check out the video over at Radar Online of the cast being introduced–but be warned, there is some major league fangirl squee-ing in the vid at the surprise appearances so watch your volume controls! The excitement is tangible!

Rob, in his charming British accent introduced Chaske Spencer, Jamie Campbell Bower and Alex Meraz and Kellan Lutz. Kristen introduced Cameron Bright, Kiowa Gordon, Bronson Pelletier and Nikki Reed who plays Rosalie. Taylor Lautner introduced Ashley Greene and Elizabeth Reaser. Rob doubled over with laughter when they realized that they had forgotten to bring Billy Burke on stage.

Rob made sure to thank the fans, saying: “”First of all, thanks to you guys,” RPattz said while fans went crazy. “Without you Twilight wouldn’t be anywhere so thanks very much.”

Kristen Stewart thanked Death Cab for Cutie, who played before the cast went on stage along with three other bands from the New Moon Soundtrack–Sea Wolf, Anya Marina and Band of Skulls.

Thank you so much and please give it up for Death Cab for Cutie and all the rest of the bands who made the New Moon soundtrack so cool,” a poised Kristen said to the fans. Death Cab For Cutie, Sea Wolf, Anya Marina and Band of Skulls all performed their songs from the soundtrack for the crowd.

MTV has another great behind the scenes footage of New Moon.  Kristen Stewart compares herself to Bella and talks about Robert Pattinson. 

“I feel very much like I can’t really tell a huge difference between myself and Bella anymore, as odd as that sounds,” she admitted in an interview released by Summit Entertainment. “I’m used to playing really distinct characters that are so far away from my normal reality and in this case, the only thing that I was really worried about was just making sure it was absolutely honest and open and vulnerable and very present.”

On Robert Pattinson:

“We’re both pretty instinctual, impulsive actors,” Stewart explained. “We don’t really hash things over and over because we both know our characters fairly well. It was easy to step back into the project because it was something we [already] did. Once you play someone — it’s a strange thing — you don’t forget who they are. And we work together well, so it was easy.”

Also in the video, Robert Pattinson describes the birthday party scene in New Moon, and a behind the scenes look at his and Daniel Cudmore’s (aka Felix) fight scene.
