Yes — you read correctly. New Moon was nominated in several categories for the upcoming Scorecard Review Movie awards. Then they were un-nominated shortly after!

Here are the categories they were nominated in -

Jeff Bayer then released an official statement as to why he all of a sudden removed the nominations -

I run The Scorecard Review … Unfortunately, I had to remove ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ choices. Too many twihards were giving everything Twilight a 10, and every other film a 1, trying to manipulate the results.

I love movies, movie fans and I have no problem with people loving Twilight, but trying to kill other movies is not the point of these awards. It was a difficult choice, as I love the attention the TSR Movie Awards have already received, but here is an example of what was happening …

In the BEST MUSIC category, Twilight had a 9.3 score. The next highest was Crazy Heart with a 3.8. That was the next highest! In other words, there were hundreds of twihards who decided the best way for Twilight to win was to give the other nominees a 1.

I apologize to all the Twilight fans who took time, and now don’t have the opportunity to vote for the film they love.

Here’s a side note … Edward was beating Jacob in BEST ACTION HERO/VILLAIN/SUPERHUMAN. It’s pretty funny actually. Edward had the most first place and last place votes. But officially, Team Edward was in the lead.

Wal-Mart announced today that they will have a 2 disc edition of New Moon on Blu Ray and DVD.

This special Wal-Mart edition includes never seen before footage from Eclipse!

Here are the details -

Ultimate fans of Twilight have a reason to howl with excitement: a sneak peek at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Walmart announced today it will be the only retailer to carry The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition on standard DVD, and Blu-ray, with never-before-seen footage from the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Walmart also will feature “Twilight Saga Shops” in stores – a dedicated shopping experience for Twilight fans to bite into a variety of Twilight -themed clothing, jewelry, and merchandise, including new items to show their wolf- or vampire-fan pride.

Fans can pre-order The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition on DVD or Blu-ray, as well as the national two-disc Special Edition DVD or Special Edition Blu-ray, today at Walmart.com. With the new movie and 50 minutes of extra footage and interviews, The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition also contains an exclusive, 7-minute sneak peek of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. It begins with an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the production of the newest film. New interviews with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, as well as with series-creator Stephenie Meyer, are integrated with revealing on-the-set footage of some of the key scenes and sets from the upcoming movie. This first-look at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse concludes with the world premiere of an actual scene from the upcoming film.

With the movie release scheduled for March 20, 12:01 am, fans can be among the first to own the DVD, joining friends nationwide at midnight release events in more than 2,600 24-hour Walmart stores. According to the Official Summit Entertainment Twilight Twitter page — the 2-disc Special Edition DVD and the Special Edition Blu-Ray will be released on Saturday, March 20th, 2010!

It’s now available for Pre-Order on DVD and Blu-Ray as well!

Who’s pumped? It will be March 20th before you know it!

UPDATE: We regret to inform you that there will be no commentary from New Moon stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, or Taylor Lautner on this 2-disc DVD and Blu-Ray edition of New Moon. According to  MTV.com the commentary was done by Chris Weitz and editor Peter Lambert. I know I can speak for all of us — very disappointing. The Twilight commentary with Rob, Kristen, and Catherine MADE that DVD. It was priceless and full of timeless quotes. “Come on guyssss .. Lets be simple about thisssss”

Here are the features -

Along with the fantastic film, fans can expect a six-part, behind-the-scenes documentary chronicling the creation of the film, rehearsal footage from Muse, three music videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina and Mute Math, as well as audio commentary by director Chris Weitz and editor Peter Lambert. But where, oh where, is the commentary track with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner that Chris promised back in the day?

Perhaps that, along with the 20 minutes of deleted scenes, are among the “And more!” that the Summit press release touts. Count Hollywood Crush among the sorely disappointed if RPattz’s self-depricating humor isn’t included on the disc.

The DVD will retail for $32.99 and the Blu-Ray for $34.99. Both will go on pre-sale January 26.

New Moon — How I love thee. Chris Weitz — Oh, let me count the ways that I love thee. Even though New Moon (to most of us) was exactly what we expected and more, there still are mistakes here and there. Which is a common happening with all movies.

MovieMistakes.com outlines mistakes pointed out in various movies by moviegoers and their users. New Moon as of today has 33 mistakes in it. Here is a brief outline of what they have listed -

• Bella’s bite mark scar is not in the position it should be, compared to where James actually bit her in Twilight.
• When Jacob first shows off his tattoo, it is up at the top of his shoulder. Then when he is in the forest at the end with Bella and Edward, his tattoo is about 2 inches further down his arm.
• During the breakup scene, you see a blue marker between Edwards feet in his wideshots.
• After Bella awakes from the first nightmare, we see her Romeo and Juliet book on the pillow beside her. When Charlie brings in her presents the book is gone, but then reappears on the pillow between shots. (many of our readers at NMM.org have mentioned this one!)
• When Bella is at the cafeteria table with Mike, and he is asking her to a movie, her hair keeps moving from behind her ear to hanging in front, and back again.
• When Bella and Edward enter the chamber with the Volturi, they change which sides they are holding hands on. This also happens when they leave, except it goes from arm on waist to hand holding
• When Sam comes into the house and kisses his fiance, you can see the ripples in the edges of the plastic film used to put the tattoo on his arm.
• In the very last scene, right before the ultimatum, if you look into the tail lights on Edward’s car you can see various members of the crew reflected.
