Epilogue: Treaty
“Jacob kept his eyes on Edward. “I just needed to remind your bloodsucking friends of a few key points in the treaty they agreed to. The treaty is the only thing stopping me from ripping his throat out right this minute.” “We haven’t forgotten.” Edward said at the same time I demanded. “ What key points?” Jacob still glowered at Edward, but he answered me. “The treaty is quite specific. If any of them bite a human, the truce is over. Bite not kill.”
Well Mr. Black certainly has a chip on his shoulder, but with good reason…maybe. After all Bella even though she was showing mixed emotions, she was rather detached from really being in a relationship with Jacob, but his love for her is so strong that he sees no rhyme or reason for her to be with Edward. I firmly believe that if Edward had come back but he and Bella had remained apart, and Bella was still miserable over Edward, that Jacob’s love would have been strong enough to carry them, because he loves her more than anything in this world, and I now understand that about Jacob Black. So here’s my closing thoughts
Life is back to normal in grey cold wet Forks. Edward and Bella’s relationship is stronger than ever, and it better be I mean she only flew to Italy and sacrificed her life in a castle infested with vampires to save the man she loves.
Charlie has Bella on lock down, she isn’t allowed to go anywhere, which is odd because she is an adult…go figure
Jacob hasn’t been heard from in weeks. Bella calls but no answer
But Jacob has never been one to go away for long has he? He returns with a bang! Once again Jacob with his immature behavior and charm, has decided to return Bella’s bike to her via Charlie and wants to get her busted and possibly grounded in the process so that she can’t see Edward Cullen, but it’s too late had he answered a phone lately he would’ve known that Bella is already on punishment…good going Jake
The face off: Edward and Bella face off with Jacob Black. Jacob wants to remind Edward of the treaty, that the Cullen’s agreed upon. Edward is fully aware of this treaty and guarantees to make good on the promise.
Jacob apologizes to Bella about ratting on her and the bike, but Charlie is already on the rampage
Victoria is still on the loose. Jeez how hard is it to catch this woman? I mean she is fast, you guys have to see her in the movie! She rocks.
Pg. 560 The final goodbye. I looked back at Jacob torn, Would I see him again? “Sorry.” He whispered so low that I had to read his lips to understand. “Bye Bells.” “You promised, still friends right?” Jacob shook his head slowly, and the lump in my throat nearly strangled me. “You know how hard I’ve tried to keep that promise, but…I can’t see how to keep trying. Not now. Miss you.” “Me too.” I choked out. My hand reached toward his across the wide space. Like we were connected, the echo of his pain twisted inside me. His pain, my pain. “Jake.” I took a step toward him. I wanted to wrap my arms around his waist and erase the expression of misery on his face. Edward pulled me back again, his arms restraining instead of defending. “It’s okay.” I promised him, looking up to read his face with trust in my eyes. He would understand. “No, it’s not. Let her go!” Jacob snarled, furious again. “She wants to!” Jacob took two long strides forward. A glint of anticipation flashed in his eyes. His chest seemed to swell as it shuddered.
Pg. 562Jacob watched us with a dark scowl on his bitter face. The anticipation drained from eyes, and then, just before the forest came between us, his face suddenly crumpled in pain. I knew that last glimpse of his face would haunt me until I saw him smile again. And right there I vowed that I wold see him smile, and soon. I would find a way to keep my friend.
Bella realizes that her young life is a complete and utter mess, and in my opinion should have made the choice to walk away a long time ago, personally, I think this life is just too much for anyone to handle, but now its too late, she is in too deep. As Caius said, “She knows too much, she is a liability”
Pg. 562 “I had some serious problems. My best friend counted me with his enemies. Victoria was still on the loose, putting everyone I loved in danger. If I didn’t become a vampire soon, the Volturi would kill me.”
Final quote: “Very serious problems. So why did they all suddenly seem insignificant when we broke through the last of the trees and I caught sight of the expression on Charlie’s purple face? Edward squeezed me gently. “I’m here.” That was true. Edward was here, with his arms around me. I could face anything as long as that was true, I squared my shoulders and walked forward to meet my fate, with destiny solidly at my side.”
I want to thank all of you who stayed with me for these past 25 days. Whether it was me taking forever to post, or my sometimes not so nice opinions(y’all know I’m veryy opinionated)but still you all stuck with me every step of the way and as I get extremely emotional right now, I want to give a very extra special thanks to Will & LMCullen who were always there to help me with any issues I may have had. Doing this New Moon re-read has been about the best experience I’ve had in a long time and I cannot wait until we re-read Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and maybe Twilight, for old times sake? According to HitFix.com, The Twilight Saga: New Moon may have set a new record for it’s midnight launch.
No one expected “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” to disappoint at the box office, but even Summit Entertainment has to be surprised by the massive opening the sequel garnered from midnight shows across the country. Distributors are still submitting their grosses but sources tell HitFix “New Moon” has set a new record and may have made as much as $25 million from its midnight launch.
To compare, previous record holder “The Dark Knight” made $18.4 million in over 3,000 theaters, but some of those screens were of the IMAX variety which charge higher ticket prices thereby inflating the overall gross. Not jumping on the IMAX bandwagon (so far), only makes “New Moon’s” gross even more remarkable.
Opening in 3,514 theaters, “New Moon” could also challenge “Dark Knight’s” single day gross of $67 million, but that seems a tad unlikely based on a predominantly female only fan base. As for the weekend, the first “Twilight” dropped 49% from Friday to Saturday and the sequel is expected to find a similar drop. On the other hand, “Dark Knight” dropped only 29% over that span. Therefore, breaking the acclaimed thriller’s opening weekend gross record of $158.4 million has to be out of reach, but surpassing this year’s champ, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” with $108 million, is entirely possible (at the moment at least).
Shocker? Not to the Twilight fans. $25 million at the midnight launch! That would be amazing. I know I’m seeing New Moon again tonight and Sunday.

Taylor Lautner appeared on the Today Show earlier Friday morning. Taylor talked with Matt Lauer about how life has changed since Twilight and that other Taylor person.
I still can’t believe Taylor is 17 years old. Well, more like don’t want to believe he’s 17 years old. LOL! Taylor’s performance floored me in New Moon.
Our beloved cast attended the screening of New Moon last night in New York City. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner looked gorgeous as always. Ashley Greene (Alice), Kellan Lutz (Emmett), Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Elizabeth Reaser (Esme), Peter Facinelli (Carlisle), and director Chris Weitz were also at the New Moon screening.
New Moon was absolutely amazing! I love Chris Weitz! Everyone was spectacular in it!! LOVED IT!! Can’t wait to see it again.
By the time you read this, you’ll have had a chance to watch New Moon at one of the midnight showings across the globe!

The Twilight Saga’s second installment may satisfy hardcore fans of the series, but outsiders are likely to be turned off by its slow pace, relentlessly downcast tone, and excessive length.
Robert Pattinson was asked in an interview with Vanity Fair what it means to him as an actor to be on this month’s cover. Rob says it’s surreal and he remembers his sister having a Vanity Fair magazine with Brad Pitt on the cover…….. laying on a white bed.
Well, I can tell you that Rob on the cover of Vanity Fair and all the Bruce Weber photos really meant a lot to me and millions of women everywhere!! LOL!

Chapter 24: Vote
“Edward loved me. The bond forged between us was not one that could be broken by absence, distance, or time. And no matter how much more special or beautiful or brilliant or perfect than me he might be, he was as irreversibly altered as I was. As I would always belong to him, so would he always be mine.”
I feel the vote was comical and serious all rolled into one. Anything that includes the entire Cullen coven is magnificent!
Well it seems as if we are back to old times again. Edward takes Bella onto his back and they fly to the Cullen Manor, to start the voting process
Pg 528 We finally get a first hand account of what Edward went through during his utterly ridiculous 7 month separation from Bella “You were better at it than I was, you know. Surviving. You at least, made an effort. You got up in the morning, tried to be normal for Charlie, followed the pattern of your life. When I wasn’t actively tracking, I was…totally useless. I couldn’t be around my family-I couldn’t be around anyone. I’m embarrassed to admit that I more or less curled up into a ball and let the misery have me.” Oh Edward!!!
Pg. 532 Edward comes up with the most ridiculous plan ever. He plans to simply hide Bella if the Volturi come looking for her…yeah like that’ll fly. “Do you remember Demetri? He finds people-that’s his talent, why they keep him. His ability is loosely related to what I do, or what Aro does. He catches the…flavor? I don’t know how to describe it…the tenor…of someone’s mind, and then he follows that. But after Aro’slittle experiments, well…” “You think he won’t be able to find me.” “I’m sure of it. He totally relies on that other sense. When it doesn’t work with you, they’ll all be blind.” “And how does that solve anything?” “Quite obviously, Alice will be able to tell when they’re planning a visit, and I’ll hide you. They’ll be helpless. It will be like looking for a needle in a haystack!” “Excellent plan my brother.” “No.” Rosalie hissed. “Absolutely not.” I agreed. “Nice.” Jasper’s voice was appreciative. “Idiots.” Alice murmured. Lmaoo I Love love love this family, and Edward needs a new plan.
Pg 533 After Bella gets all mellow dramatic, and feels as if Edward doesn’t want her in his family, finally the votes are in. Jalice say yes. Rose says no, obviously. “Let me explain. I don’t mean that I have any aversion to you as a sister. It’s just that…this is not the life I would have chosen for myself. I wish there had been someone there to vote no for me.” Aww Rose! This is why I cant outright dislike her. Emmett, says Hell yes! lol. Esme says yes, Carlisle gives an indirect yes as well. Edward then flips out and leaves the room.
Pg. 535 Edward is now destroying property in the Cullen home apparently, which annoys me since Carlisle is the only one in that house with a job! Bella turns to Alice and asks her to begin the transformation, but Alice is reluctant. “Um, Bella. I don’t think I’m ready for that yet. I don’t have any idea how to not kill you.” Um yeah, let’s not roll with Alice on this one, can we get someone else?
Pg. 540 The marriage proposal. “Marry me first.” “Okay. What’s the punchline? Edward please be serious.” “I am one hundred percent serious.” “I’m only eighteen.” “Well, I’m nearly a hundred and ten. It’s time I think I settled down.” Cute.
Charlie and Bella finally go head to head, and she acts like a spoiled brat in my opinion. She did just leave him for 3 days with no word or reason, he’s a parent for goodness sake. In the end Bella is legally an adult and the only say Charlie has, is what goes on in his house.
So what’s your vote? I think she needed to stay human for now. She has plenty of years to become immortal. Just not right now. I’ve always pushed for Bella to stay human anyway, because of her age, I realize she will get old and Edward will be forever 17, but when the aging begins then she can turn. Any thoughts?
